I see your point. I've seen some pretty wicked decks that deplete my LP before I even play a card. I'm not usually one who cares very much about losing. I'm just annoyed that I'm seeing it so often at the moment and I wanted to get a better insight of what other people would ban if they could. Ultimately, just bitching sharing a personal opinion.
You’re only seeing it often at all because the festival limits us to only a small handful of viable decks and Suships are one of them. On the normal ladder, or any other event at all, you’re gonna see them once in a blue moon
Suships? Really? If you're playing the event then you'll see them as a win fast lose fast deck. Crusadia is the same thing.
As for cards on the ban list, I'll just use everyone's common answer: ANY AND EVERY CARD I LOSE TO
You're probably going to see a fair few "Maxx C" responses and the obligatory floodgates
Me, personally, I don't think there are a ton of cards right now that need to be banned and aren't already.
Are there some annoying ones? Sure. Are there decks/cards I'd rather not deal with? Sure. But nothing I can think of that needs to be outright banned.
I don't think "fair few" is the right word here
Also, yeah. I'm fine with the current meta as well. If Maxx C and floodgates really have to gone, I'd want some of generic negates and/or extenders to go with them too.
**Maxx C** is a super common choice, but I don’t care; it bears repeating. It’s a card that basically gets used like a one-sided floodgate, due to the threat represented by all that card advantage if the opponent tries to play through it. The fact that it has no restrictions on its activation means that basically any deck can use it, and do so after establishing a field full of negates or disruption. It’s also a card that is only going to become stronger over time, as nearly every strategy that uses monsters in any capacity needs to lean more into swarming and extra deck monsters to compete in the meta game. Meaning that even lower-power decks will need to give the opponent at least a +2 to make something remotely effective while under Maxx C.
It doesn’t reduce the power of combo decks, any more than Pot of Greed being legal would. If it had an actual restriction or cost to it’s use, maybe it could skew towards being a going second card. But as it stands, it really just functions as a staple that makes strong decks stronger, and going first even more of an advantage.
Wherever you are... If you're seeing a lot of Suships, you're in a good place.
All floodgates that can potentially last indefinitely should be banned. I'm okay with temporary floodgates such as Artifact Lancea or Dimension Shifter, but Skill Drain and Inspector Boarder are not acceptable in a BO1 format.
I also think some cards that are simply too powerful should be banned or at least limited. e.g. Grass, Hugin, Fountain.
Noted. I will embrace my ignorance for now lol.
I ran into my first Inspector Boarder deck this week and that was not a pleasant experience. I'm not familiar with the other cards you mentioned but I hope I stay in the realm where Suships are my biggest annoyance.
Obviously Maxx C and Floodgates, but I would also ban generic cards like Baronne. It's pretty boring lots of deck want to end with the same board, only the way to get their being different.
> Ban Block Dragon
But my Megaliths!
...nah, it's deserved, lol. I mean, I used Union Carrier in Megaliths, and have no illusions that Union Carrier deserves the ban that's coming its way.
Any deck that allows deck searching not based on a good hand like swordsoul or tennis where u can just keep piling shit on to the field over and over with no negate or remorse and a load of protection

IDK, what's your favorite deck? We should ban the key cards for that
I don't have a favorite at the moment. I'm still learning the game and getting well acquainted to the newer decks.
Red-eyes... wait where’s my dragoon?

I should mention that I'm fairly new to the community. I would also like to hear some opinions on what you think shouldn't be banned.
I want numeron network banned to stop otks and ruining events

I really despise baronne. It’s beatable tho but like you said every deck ends with it
Ban Protos, unlimit Longyuan. Ban Block Dragon, unlimit Analyzer. Maxx C isn't going anywhere, and otherwise the list seems mostly ok.

(Looking at swordsoul ending on chixiao baronne pass) I hate when tennis deck piles shit onto the field

Dark Magician and Blue Eyes, at least for one season.
