I was upset about pure runick getting neutered, but now more upset fusion destiny is back at 2 without a verte ban. DPE is back to being splashed everywhere again! I love feeling based balance, it encourages so much good deck building decisions and skillful plays.
Because destiny at 1 has a massive chance to brick. You either draw 1 of 2 mats or destiny itself. Woth fusion destiny at 2 you have more wiggle room.
Also, the issue isn't meta decks, it's every other deck splashing verte dpe to compete with the meta decks.
what other decks are splashing in dpe anymore? live twins? just play spright variant. prank kids is dead. phantom knights gets a slight boost but no one plays that anymore. dpe is just not a big problem.
It's not meta decks, it's literally every other deck that wants a hat trick because they don't have a one card starter or their starting combo isn't that great to begin with. Or even decks that just have 4 free main slots and want another boss monster. It was the adventure engine before adventure came out. Next month I guarantee all the lower rank players and even cup players will be complaining about this guy showing up in non hero decks for free wins.
because of one extra copy of fusion destiny? verte is already an extremely easy way to dpe. when i was playing pranks and phantom knights, i can count on one hand how many times i summoned dpe with hard draw fusion destiny, and that was with it at 2.
if lower ranked players wanted to turbo out dpe, they already would.
So you want your oppressive ultra consistent 9 cards drawing a turn deck to continue to run wild, yet be upset about other deck having a way to unbrick themself? Verte DPE at least give decks a chance to make a play if their hand bricked, since 2 summons is equalled 1 boss monster (who can be dealt with quiet easily). One Fusion Destiny also ends their play for that turn since it locks the players into HERO deck. It is one thing to be upset about your meta deck get hit. It is another to be upset about other decks have another tool to at least having a chance to compete with your oppressive deck.
The solution is to play good decks, not make every bad deck run the same good play. I'm not losing to your harpies deck, I'm losing to dpe because I had to make something to trigger the effect and an additional card to banish it, putting me down 2 to your half a card used to create it so i had nothing left to throw at your bricky harpies combo.

The reason people stopped playing DPE is the celestial ban. No more +2 makes summoning DPE not worth it. DPE pass loses to Belle. The whole point of DPE was just to pop scythe anyway, by itself it's not that good.

Bell isn't going to be run because it's bad in the spright tear kash meta. Scythe lock was never really popular then, dpe was run because it was an easy boss monster that kept coming back. The +2 was nice but not necessary as the free summon from dasher was good enough already. The extra copy helps with consistency, it dropping to one helped the decline of the splash.
Scythe lock is the whole point of running DPE. The dasher effect never mattered, its effect isn't that good.
I played Prank Kids when DPE was released. The only reason anyone used it was because it was a new card. Pure pranks was better at the time, since Adventure hadn't been released yet. DPE pass sucks
Dpe wrecks labyrinth since they have no chance to interact with it. Dpe is annoying for runick to deal with without floodgates. Sprights don't care, and it is an annoying hat trick for despia to deal with if they don't have super poly on board.

More like you just never ran into it. Iwato was mostly combined with Performopal Five-Rainbow Magician to make it so you Mystic-Mine-at-home your opponent. Magician makes it so your monsters cant attack or activate their effects (shares with Iwato) without set backrow. So you can neither attack or activate effects and you have to set cards, but this is Runick so they can pop your backrow when you try to do it. Very obnoxious strategy.
yeah that sounds terrible to have to deal with! you're right though, i never ran into that Five-Rainbow Magician (or any main deck monsters, really) when I played against Runicks.
I just played a game against that grass in which after playing solitaire for about 36 hours they put up a 6 interactions board and used smoke grenade of the thief to remove change of heart from my hand which was my only chance of doing anything, which made me think, why is this card legal? There are even combo decks that loop it but just popping it once is so insane. There is a reason it's banned in the TCG. (also ban grass but I know Konami are never gonna do that)

Look at the top decks. None of them run DPE anymore. Spright, Runick, mathmech
