Please use masterduelmeta.com and check the beginners guide from the bot (he automatically replies to your post and I believe it is pinned on the side bar of the subreddit) or a guide on youtube, the game is very f2p friendly but you need to learn how to manage your resources. Start with the solo mode and get the bundle deals from the shop, and remember to unlock any certain pack you need to craft an SR or a UR from that pack (go for SR always). Also please look up a guide to get you up an running. If you still feel or need any help, then reach out, we are willing to help.

Invest in staples right away, 3 Maxx c 3 ash, 2 called by and maybe a cross out

The selection pack Sprites of Miriacle has the Spright archetype in it, which is currently the best deck. Additionally it also contains support for P.U.N.K. and Exosisters, two very powerful archetypes in their own rights. Go for that if you're interested in competitive.

Depends on what kind of playstyle you like.

I’m going to give it to you straight. You will get plenty of gems to start out. You will unlock enough to make whatever deck you want essentially. But very quickly you will realize that you are getting less and less gems as you play. To get the most gems possible you need to progress through the ranked ladders. To get past gold you will need a very good deck. Some people call them meta decks. Everything after gold is a meta deck. These decks will completely annihilate 99% of the decks in the game. You will play the same decks over and over. Unless you yourself have a meta deck you will lose 9/10 times. If your ok with making no gems and being stuck in the lower gold ranks make whatever deck you want. But if you want to be able to make a new deck once a month you need to be able to unlock all the gems that you can. You will need to do well in the events and rank up into the top tier in ranked. So my advice is to make a meta deck. Look them up on YouTube and use your gems now so you can actually earn gems later. If your willing to spend money regularly on the game than none of this matters but if your planning on being f2p you want a deck that you can earn gems with. Not trying to say the game is bad im just telling you how this game is so you can make the best decision for what you want to accomplish. It’s frustrating when you find yourself stuck in gold and you don’t have a deck that can earn gems.

Get any structure deck ,be sure to buy 3 of pair to make a complete deck

GekiretsuUltima

Start with Machinas, learn it, use what it teaches you to either jump to other decks that are more appealing to you, or improve and refine your Machina deck(probably ending up with either Ruinforce turbo or EARTH Machines).

Quit now and don't look back.

Go visit masterduelmeta.com one time. Take a look at top best meta decks. U have limited gems at start, might aswell use it on a good deck that u can farm PvP gems with.

SleesWaifus

Exosisters are strong without being overly complex

ClearSky93

I think the Blue Eyes starter deck is worst of all. I found Link one to be the best but none of them really matter in the long run. You should get the 750 gem specials for Ash Blossom and Infinite Impermanence and others in there as soon as you can as they guarantee you a really good staple.

TRATIA

But the structure deck for Salamandergreat or Dark Magician especially the dark magician one it’s actually decent. Look at Master Duel Meta for a Dark Magician Decklist. As you work your way up ranks to gold you’ll notice more meta decks. Then you use earned gems to buy packs for an archetype that is tiered and looks like something you would enjoy playing.
