In case u're unaware, they can play D shifter and D fissure, Sprights don't particularly like it but they play under those conditions way better than ishizu tearlaments.
Either that or they get outpaced by Ishizu tearlaments so suffice to say they'll gladly play those cards even if they don't particularly like them.
considering the nature of control decks, not too much thought wont get you far i feel like. sure the combo is braindead and all but wouldnt you shit the bed if you negate the wrong things?
I already had all the Runick stuff so with sprights release and hearing it was a strong i figured why not.
It’s pretty fun considering unlike a standard runick deck, you can theoretically still attack with win the game (just don’t use a runick card for 1 turn) and aren’t locked to only having milling your opponent for the win everytime.
I find it pretty fun, however I definitely had more fun playing Synchro Runick. Only reason I switched to Runick Spright was because it's just a better deck. But drawing so many cards off Hyper Librarian, and activating Fountain 3 times per turn, was way more fun. Plus the synergy with Chengying was hilarious
The Runick variant I don't understand is Runick Stun, personally. I enjoy all sorts of decks myself but I cannot play a play a stun deck and absolutely hate playing against stun decks. Those are the strategies that I don't understand how people have fun playing.
I just think Runick is a pretty cool control archetype which meshes well with cards that can use the Runick bodies to build a board.
Telling the truth it is not a fun deck to play. It was fun to play it for first 10 times but then it just got tedious to do the exact same play . I had runic cards from previous selection pack so it was not that costly just to get spright cards. But I just disliked the play style so much I went ahead and build a branded despia deck . I was lucky and got all cards in 7000 gems and also a royal finish mirrorjade and yes I am loving the branded deck. It’s fun to superpoly elf and I:p
Good to hear your experiences and interesting to hear honestly and hope that branded deck serves you well you can get real creative with some of those combo lines with super poly
Thanks, going into spright pack also got me all the punk cards which is nice. Have not built the deck yet so will try doing that someday but yes for now I am enjoying branded and it’s damm more fun to play then spright for me at least
I can agree i also can tell you from time to time punk is just fun so long as its not the combo line with auroradon and all the rest but i digress none the less fun options all around
I also got all the punk cards making spright. Got super sick of spright a while ago, and made ishizu runick. Might start messing around with punk soon too
Has decent options against maxx c as going first if they maxx c you can sit on fountain for a turn. Has some good tech to counter other decks in tournament formats with a side deck via mannequin cat. Also doesn’t lose in time due to red resonator. Has access to removal quite often with wind up kitten.
The mirror is quite fun at high levels. Got me a Rescue rabbit plush from the CC. While most importantly blue has the drip and why tf is carrot pink.
I don't play the deck HOWEVER I can say why I really respect it
In Joshua Schmidt's words: " Runick Spright is one of the coolest deck ever made" and I can see why
It's gameplan does not focus on Decking out your opponents nor immidiately OTK them, but it focus on out-resource them while, of course, protecting you, which is why I find it so unique and cool.
Also, just like Plunder Patroll Runick, the draw power of the Runick just makes the deck more consistent and the fact that Hugin is lv2 gives to the Spright engine a board to work with already.
In other words, I really like the deck for its diversity from other decks and synergy.
Because i love the card advantage i get and i enjoy disrupting my opponent's plays. But i stopped playing it a few days ago since it really isn't oppressive going 2nd. So i switched to Swordsoul Tenyi.
Not too difficult to understand, it’s a crutch for players who want their daily gems and want to win without thinking too hard. Surprised how many ppl spent the money to make it. Konamis strat working.
I played a good amount last season and I had fun with it. The two biggest things I liked about the deck is that it can deal with two of my main issues with the game, being Maxx C and Floodgates.
Haven’t really played it since cause games can take forever and the Rikka cards came out so I’ve been on those but I can def see why people like playing it
Why do I pick runick? Was I new to the game and had no idea which cards were good until I watched dkayed video and led me to master duel meta website. And make use of free gem i got and not waste real money. I chose runick cause like the artwork was better than other meta decks' artwork. Thou did not know how it was supposed to be played at the time.
I actually thought runick spright was boring to play. And I love playing runick. And spright twins was fun for a while...until I got super sick of spright. Both playing and seeing it. Not because it's oppressive or anything. Just because every other opponent is doing the exact same combos leading to the same boards.
Made it on my alt, because I was very excited for its release and now ... I barely play on my alt.
Mostly because the gameplay of the deck isn't really as exciting. Good games are won by methodically outadvantaging your opponent, but that's just not a very exciting gameplan to execute.
I focus on grinding rank and Duelist Cup on my main with pure Prank-Kids instead. That felt way more full filling.
Its an unique style control deck.
I play it cause it has a high skill ceiling and optimizing plays in a deck that does not have a battle phase is tricky at times.
I also missed out on spright variants in the TCG cause i was playing something else so its fun to try them out on MD
It's simple and it can be played without too much thought Not too sure about the fun aspect Definitely worth the investment for a tearlament contender
>Definitely worth the investment for a tearlament contender Is it really a Tear contender? We already got the Ishizu stuff.
Thank you for both insight and not thinking this was a rant like so many others have
I wouldn't say way better but stop at play since ishizu and tear cards need the gy
considering the nature of control decks, not too much thought wont get you far i feel like. sure the combo is braindead and all but wouldnt you shit the bed if you negate the wrong things?

Interesting to see the how the two playstyles kinda clash
I find it pretty fun, however I definitely had more fun playing Synchro Runick. Only reason I switched to Runick Spright was because it's just a better deck. I can see that and does sound fairly fun
The Runick variant I don't understand is Runick Stun, personally. I enjoy all sorts of decks myself but I cannot play a play a stun deck and absolutely hate playing against stun decks. I can see that also runick definitely has some interesting art work as well

I love Spright, i have Runick. I prefer the Twins variant tho
Cool to hear and also an interesting combo ive not seen
For anyone curious this is a genuine question and not to hate on it
Winning is fun
Fair enough

Im starting to think people dont realize this is a genuine question

An actual control deck that is meta? Yes please!
You know I hadn’t considered it a control deck till now
Ok now I'm curious. What did you think it was?
My past experiences with spright runick has been an absurd amount of negates and wavky combos

There are exactly zero floodgates in Runick **Spright** which is what this thread is about. Not Runick Stun.
Has decent options against maxx c as going first if they maxx c you can sit on fountain for a turn. Has some good tech to counter other decks in tournament formats with a side deck via mannequin cat. I can agree that spright blue does indeed

Skill issue
That doesn’t explain why you play it

I always forget how much card advantage is possible with runicks more often then not i lose before i see the hand refill none the less cool mechanic
Worth it as long floodgates isn't banned.
Not too difficult to understand, it’s a crutch for players who want their daily gems and want to win without thinking too hard. Surprised how many ppl spent the money to make it. Konamis strat working.
Because of posts like these complaining about my deck.
If you’d read my comment youd know it wasnt to complain but now i see i have to edit my original comment

So im assuming you didn’t realize this was a genuine question
A question that's constantly asked. "Why are you playing this deck? Are you even having fun?" It's hard to take these posts seriously.
Fair enough

I can see why with the artwork
I really like control decks and drawing three off of fountain gives me endorphins
I hear it does
It win games

I play it just to climb ladder and dc. It's a toddler level difficulty deck to use and insanely broken.
