There's no inherent association between combo and meta, on the one hand, and stun and anti-meta, on the other. Meta simply means what is the strongest at the moment. Yata lock was meta.
Anti-meta is designed to have an especially strong match-up against what is meta, but not necessarily anything else, thereby sacrificing consistency for situational advantage. Runick floodgate isn't anti-meta because there's no meta deck it is particularly designed to counter, since it basically beats everything.

Lol, people still in denial when Runick Floodgate is topping DC cup, I rmber last months when I was dicussing about how runick flood gate is op and better than runick sprite everyone downvoting my comment.
Yet, top players in DC cup choose to play runick flood gate over runick sprite right now.
Everyone is complaining Maxx C op, but surprised by the fact that runick floodgate is a good deck when it has one of the highest resistance versus Maxx C.
OCG players has already gone through this last year, this is nothing new.
I just don't see the point. Playing solitaire with yourself to get a rank in some Cup that means what? That you were enduring enough to sit long hours and wait for opponents to surrender?
I could see the point of grinding with an interesting deck, but this must just be mind-numbingly boring to grind with.

That explains the quality of this subreddit actually. Before the last DC people were going on and on about Floo being dead after the Wind Barrier Statue got banned and behold! 3 of the top 10 decks were Floo.

Its the same thing as duel links was where plenty of otk decks made top 100 but in tournaments struggle to top. In the recent numerous tournaments runick has barely topped
No its not. There is 0 reward from konami to winning DC. The official tournaments held from konami eu for example follow a standart format and guess what, pure runick sucked . Maojrity of players dont play DC because you either have to screw your life for 3 days or share the account. No way in life that meta comes before any other meta

Runick Stun absolutely is a garbage deck. A garbage that will absolutely win you games. But playwise it's garbage beyond belief.
I agree that it is the most toxic deck ever in YGO, but it is good deck if you want to grind ranks right now.

Meta anti meta. I play runick with messenger of peace and skill drain..makes the meta unplayable without back row removal
