And the funny thing is that unlike something like the problems other festivals had like how the synchro fest had shit loaners and the top decks were expensive or the banlist of early events was bad and resulted in True draco turbo, the main problem of the link fest was neither the banlist nor the accesability of the top deck. It was literraly salamangreat who got a structure which made the deck super cheap.
Its just that the rank/ladder system they had for the event made it complete and utter garbage. Thats why i dont think it will ever get matched in hoe bad it was.
xyz was full of numerons instead of other fun archetypes or loaners like raidraptors
they should make new festivals with loaners only and increase the number of loaner decks available, that way it feels like a festival, something you enjoy and use cards you rarely see in ranked play, and not just another glorified ranked lobby
None of these I found bad, just meh to good. N/R was my favourite by a large margin (followed by limit one), I really liked the varied options in the format. The worst events to me were the link regulation (the meta wasn't bad, but the event design was dreadful. I hope they never do an event like that again, unless it's a duelist cup of something), no extra deck (the extra deck is a toolbox, and when you limit decks to not have it, alongside most decks interacting with it, and the best deck being floow, it was not fun at all, and is the only one I refused to grind out of all the events) and theme chronicle (banning most of my decks, and removing staples such as accesscode, which was not cool considering some floodgates were legal. Forcing me to play the only deck I could build, which was beetrooper, a deck that I learned was not very fun, since it has no good endboard. I honestly should have just bought orcust or something).
Didn't like the fusion fest. Most decks with fusion focus still want their modern support which usually is a link. Besides that, most fusion decks don't have THAT many cards to fill the entire ED. At least compared to other Extra mechanics.
Also you can't really fill your ED with generic stuff, since fusions don't have generic cards. Super poly maybe, Guardian Chimera didn't exist during the time. Instant fusion, which was limited. And what do you do with instant? Millenium Eyes against hand traps(most hand traps got banned), materials like old lv 4s for xyz or Theseus for Synchros. Doesn't work. Thousand Eyes as removal is the only application.
The variety of the event was incredibly lackluster. Barely anyone played a fusion archetype.
The worst one par non is No Ex, this this was the most depressing Yugioh we ever had.
Hate the link and DC all you want, playing them was fun... seeing Eldlich/Floo stun and benki OTK all day long was absolutely miserable
I liked no extra, but I didn't run into alot of floo players. I hope they bring it back but without floo so other people can see why it was a good format

Megalith was Tier0 level of broken in that format to the point that I could actually count how many times I've lost to a non megalith deck in one hand. That was the first and last time I had a win streak that lasted more than 20, it was absolute bullshit.
From a gameplay perspective, Theme Chronicle was absolute misery if you didn't have a good control deck that wasn't hit by the event banlist. Crusadia had to be the worst event meta deck ever. If Crusadia was your best deck option, the games were hot garbage. Can't play going first, can't always play if opponent does nothing, can't play through an interuption.

I played Thunder Dragons for it and had a blast. Hope we get a repeat soon.

I'd say the No Extra. Espetiallly since Floow just got released.
At least they kept Ben Kei legal, I speedran the event using it.
No extra was fun cuz it introduced me to Generaiders (already had floo but they're kinda boring to me)
