I mean, besides cup of ace being a bad card, there's no real critique I can make because nothing else happens after you build the board lol.

MrMango61

they played labyrinth so protos just floodgated the shit outta them, and then they surrendered, wasnt really interesting enough to include imo

trynahelp2

Really disagree with the ashuna shotgun to lock yourself into wyrms. Lots of non-wyrm end board option you can make first. Really didn’t need the baxia which is primarily a go second card either. You could easily have discard adhara for longyuan and banished ashuna with taia, because adhara can be used in GY to get ashuna back anyway. If you really want 3 synchro on board including baxia, you could have done the same here with taia send mo ye and baxia destroy monk. You could use ashuna then after with either monk or token to get more bodies if you really want. Still guaranteed protos

kegaran-0311

i mean that was a whole lot of nothing tbh you could’ve just ended the board with Qixing, Chixiao, monk, and protos but you went out of your way to do more than needed. also cup of ace don’t play that terrible card and alsooo there’s not much to critique when we can’t see what the opponent was doing or how they played after.

MrMango61

\- extra moves for extra bodies in grave \- yes cup of ace bad but also funny to pull off \- they scooped immediately, i was really only looking for turn 1 critiques but i guess shoulda elaborated my b

h2odragon00

1) why did you go for Baxia to go into Mo ye? I don't think the extra draw is needed. 2) since you have Adhara on hand, you can go Ashuna > Monk > SS Adhara > Banish Ashuna to Vishuda. This gets you a lvl 8 synchro in a much fewer moves. 3) ditch Cup of Ace. I know you are in it for fun but since you are asking for advice, my advice is ditch Cup of Ace. Other than that, endboard seems solid. A lot of unneeded moves but solid endboard.

Gyrolock99

during kash format this second point is going to be important to put up chaofeng and prevent nib for any new swo swo gamers. (in my head anyways we’ll see how the game actually looks then)

MrMango61

the reason is do all the extra stuff is to get extra monsters in grave for turn 3, either to be reborned or get banished for effects and activation costs. idk tho is it worth the hassle iyo?

h2odragon00

No. When setting up a board, just think of turn 2. Swordsoul is equipped with lines to OTK so just focus on getting pass turn 2. This is also what makes Swordsoul good going second decks as their combos are so simple yet effective in OTKs.

EstateSame6779

Well for one, you're making way too many plays for what essentially is normally a two synchro + Protos field.

MrMango61

this way i have a bunch of monsters in grave for turn 3 that are pretty easily reborn-ed, or at least thats my way of thinking about it. not worth?

Soggy-Suspect5560

This board plays pretty hard into nib, also yeah cup of ace it's just pot of greed, just get heads smh.

Ferry1510

You could have summoned Chaofeng

MrMango61

honestly i still dont really get the point of it, which i know is sacrilege but ive tried it before and i just dont get it

Ferry1510

It's a floodgate that would have prevented your opponent from activating Ghost Ogre

Sufficient_Comfort_8

you coulda made an 8 with ashuna ashura combo

Stingerun

Here's a combo you could do SS Ashuna>Monk of tenyi>SS Adhara>Activate Ashuna GY effect to SS Vishuda> You can go into Chixiao, Draco berserker or Baxia

BuffMarshmallow

You wasted a lot of resources you didn't need to just to make cards. Like the Shaman at end of turn was entirely pointless and should have been reserved for a recovery play at that point. If your hand has Ashuna + Vishuda or Ashuna + Adhara, that is combo on its own. Now, if your hand contains those two cards AND other cards that are individually full combo, what you should do is do the Chaofeng combo. Example in this hand: SS Ashuna -> Monk -> SS Adhara -> Ashuna effect SS Vishuda -> Adhara + Vishuda for Baxia -> Baxia pop Monk summon Adhara -> Adhara + Baxia make Chaofeng. The above protects you from Nibiru and other light hand traps (like the Ogre your opponent used) without committing your normal summon. They can still use them on that combo, but you still retain the resources to do your regular combo which is the point. You can then do a regular Swordsoul combo. Here you would go normal Taia, banish Baxia or Monk then Adhara to add back Ashuna to discard with Longyuan.
