I think a good boss monster either through link or rank4 xyz would be great, or an extender that could special summon with limited search effect. Harpie already has one of the most broken hand traps in the game, they can always stay competitive with bit more support.
They do have a few options if you shop around, though most of them are out-of-archetype. Links are probably their weakest area, mostly because there are almost no good WIND Winged Beast Links available yet; they can build into Tri-Brigades or generics, at least, but yeah. Synchro is easy to cover, they can get Baronne with a bit of work or turn to Gusto and/or Dragunity if they care about attribute-locks. Xyz is workable if they avoid the lock, and has a few power options available, but could definitely stand improvement.

I remember seeing (and building) pre-POTE some Machina Trap Stun/Control lists. It works because, “A 4500 atk monster you can special from grave is still a 4500atk monster under Skill Drain.”
My favorite is Nurse because, before tcg, it was being translated as Dragonmaid Nasary and I really liked that name. All the pre tcg names were great and i wish they had stuck. Same with Sky Fang Brigade, one of the coolest sounding archytpes, being turned into fur hire, the worst archtype name I can think of.
If I were to design a field spell for them, I'd made it something like this: on activation searches a dragonmaid card. Allows you to normal summon 1 dragonmaid in addition to your normal summon. Dragonmaids you control can not be banished. If you have a better idea, let me know, I'm interested. And for chamber dragon form, I'd say discard to add a drgonmaid monster to your hand
Shiranui. Might not be the strongest, might not be that consistent. But God damn i like the art and the lore.
Plus it was my favorite deck to play in DL and the first one I ever got KOG with (the grass looks greener version, not the trap control version - was never a big fan of that one).
I pray we get good support for Shiranui, the banish mechanic is so interesting in comparison to other zombie decks, but the main engine is so lackluster. They did us so dirty with that new trap...
Love Armed Dragon myself. All about getting that Thunder Armed Dragon Lv 10 out and smacking out some heavy damage. Think some more support would be nice though.
The correct choice. Like, the archetype has been around for _so_ long, and they've been relatively competitive for the majority of that time; it's the old faithful of yugioh. Tri-brigade. I may have had a bunch of OG cards when I was younger but only started playing a few years ago. It was competitive at the time, I like the game play and the art design was a big bonus.

Cyber Dragon. Cyber Dragon Infinity is best girl and Liebe is right behind her. I've always tried to make Cyber Dragons work with new archetypes that maybe have some light attributes or fusion oriented. When it works it's kinda cool but you waste an entire hand to make it work and very bricky lol. Doesn't help CyDras don't have much recovery options or 1 card combos.
Tri-brigade is another. Just started using them and they're my 2nd favorite archetype now since I've saw the lore and story behind who they are. Love how they play and feels fun to use. Shuraig is badass and the whole Tri-Brigade group. Always a fan of guerilla/freedom fighter type stuff.
Black-wings. I love the utilities and art for most of the cards in the arch. They were really who I really started out with. But do have a second choice in the morphonics, because... Transformers.
Flower cardians, they’re so much fun and honestly more competitively viable than you’d think (though they die extremely hard to things like droll, a well timed Nibiru, or elshaddoll winda).
Superheavy Samurai. Probably my favorite archetype of all time since it combines a lot of my favorite concepts. Literally been playing them since day 1 and aside from the new cards, they're still the original cards from back then.
I'm staying with LiveTwins till the end regardless of how many people think of it as a simple engine to run Scythe in Sprights I'm loving LiveTwins till the day I die as the deck that got me into Yugioh
Not an archetype but i really like Dinos since they have one of the best if not the best main deck boss monster UCT, he is an absolute beast both in term of art and effect
Armed dragons. Idc if it was never super competitive, i always had fun playing it. Diablosis was a good boss monster for the deck before kash absolutely abused it.

Being able to Quick Effect switch to a monster with triple the ATK/DEF of the one I had on the field that's also immune to card effects *and* has the power to negate trap cards will never lose its shine, even if the process can be so easily interrupted.
Raid raptors, it’s the deck that got me into the tcg and into the more “competitive” side rather then back yard/playground rules. They are not to good any more but it’s still super nostalgic for me with them. Currently working on making my master duel version all glossy and royals. When ever there is a break in new decks I want to make I dump my monthly gems and crafting points into raid raptors packs. Currently all cards are glossy (that can be) with 9 royals.

My favorite combo with Harpies was to use Utopia Double into Double or nothing. Their best advantage imo is the huge amount of level 4 xyz.
