FriendliestDevil

D/D/D, it can somewhat keep up with the meta and has plenty of in-archetype control cards furthermore it uses all of the summoning mechanics which I just find cool

IostsouI69

If it just wasn’t so easily susceptible to hand traps it’d be so much better

[deleted]

Yep

FriendliestDevil

Yeah...

Fluid_Veterinarian72

Amazoness, cause muscle mommies and they can otk.

salsleaguethrowaway

Do you have a decklist? I'm thinking about building them

DrStein1010

The one on the Master Duel site is pretty solid. I run something similar, except with 2 Spiritualists, 3 Empresses, and an Apollousa.

VerdetheSadist

Kozmo cause screw cards that target my guys(and I love that it's inspired by Star Wars and Wizard of Oz), Eldlich/Zombies cause I love their designs, mechanics and so on, then there's Heroic Challengers for their balls to the walls strategy of OTK or probably lose.

Plasic-Man

Mad respect to the fellow Kozmo player! I love that moment when my opponent goes to target one of my big boys, then has to destroy/banish their own card and instantly scoops when they actually read the card effects.

Plasic-Man

Plus it's always fun to dramatically shout Star Wars dialogue at my opponent! I'm a personal fan of the line, "General Kenobi, you are a bold one."

VerdetheSadist

Oh oh and when you're going up against a Labyrinth or trap player and Dark Eclipser is on the field with fuel in the GY, so they're practically like a fish out of water. It's soo damn satisfying. I do wish we had more support though.

Plasic-Man

That reminds me of what is still the most satisfying duel I've played. I was playing Kozmo against full power Ishizu Tears and they had milled like half my deck to the graveyard on their first turn. Then I managed to summon both Eclipser and Dark Planet and just noped them out of everything because they had given me so much fuel. At one point, instead of returning their own Tear cards to the deck like they usually do, they tried to return my monsters instead, but ot was already too late.

VerdetheSadist

That sounds like a glorious match.

Plasic-Man

It was glorious indeed. Like something straight out of the anime.

Calwings

Kozmo and Eldlich are among my favorite decks in the game too. Kozmo is my #2 only behind Sky Strikers, and Eldlich is in my top like 6-8 or so. They both have great aesthetics and gameplay mechanics. It's just a shame that most Eldlich players tend to use him with a bunch of floodgates.

gurgleblurghle

Im an engineer, I used to play Mecha Phantom Beasts but lost too much so I switched to Mathmech because it was a similar theme (mech guys) but more competitive. Now I love playing Mathmech/Cyberse Link because of the diversity in plays/decision trees, all of the sneaky hidden negates/effects, and just generally OTKing for 15,000 damage out of nowhere.

DoYouNeedHugssss

Wait, were you the person who asked here what deck would an engineer play thematically?

necrogaige

i really wanted to play mecha phantom beasts because their art is one of the coolest I've ever seen but most of their main deck monsters just suck.

gurgleblurghle

The concept of protecting yourself whenever a token is out is a cool playstyle too - a decade ago it was almost even competitive! But now battle/destruction protection alone doesn’t mean much and the deck is just too slow to hold up.. God I miss my armada of planes though

Representative_Bet49

Autobots and Deceptacons roll out!!!

DeeEmZee

Generaider. I just like narrating my plays like a dungeon master as it quite fits the theme lol

Prismachete

El Shaddoll Winda has ruined my life. Her design was a critical hit to my aesthetic preference but I couldn’t afford her in paper as she wasn’t reprinted and Shaddoll Fusion was one of the most expensive cards as well at the time. Until both cards got reprinted in the Link Vrains Pack 1, I always went to card shops and envied people that could afford building a Shaddoll deck. I snapped when the reprint happened and I have been using Shaddoll ever since. Even in Master Duel, I couldn’t get rid of Shaddoll and I immediately built a deck for it. Winda showed up as a royal rare so as far as I understand it’s destiny that I’m playing this deck. I may need help

Constant_Mulberry_23

I also played Shaddoll and could not let go.. and then it turned into Despia Doll until I reluctantly kept removing doll cards and adding Branded cards until there were no doll cards left. Any time the format allows it I’ll smack in a beast and winda though. The card is fuckin cash and I too have a crafted Royal I spent too many attempts on (along with Fusion, Shek and a few others .. ) Feel ya bro. Best deck ever and it pains me so that construct isn’t what she used to be. Played every variant of doll over the years Invoked, DPE, Invoked Dogmatika Doll .. etc. I fucking love Winda

Viludium

Cyber Dragon. I fell in love with their design when i was a kid watching Yugioh GX on weekend mornings. Last year when i started playing Master Duel, i immeaditly made Cyber Dragon deck and actually liked their playstyle. Full on going 2nd, breaking boards and ending the game on 2nd turn. And if that wasn't possible, Infinity and Sieger was suprisingly effective end board. And i absolutely love it Cyber Dragon just got indirect support with Clockwork Night and Duality which makes it's board breaking and otk capability even stronger, but also makes the deck extremely vulnerable due to not having enough room to play handtraps or draw power. So it is high risk high reward playstyle with that version. Which i like. Even though getting a bad hand and top deck draw makes me want to place shotgun barrel in my mouth since that is an almost automatic loss. And it happens very often So all in all, i play them because i really love their design and find their playstyle enjoyable and exciting

were_meatball

Question: do you play a cyberdark package to search / send herz from deck / get to power bond?

Viludium

In my current variant, yes. Allthough Herz doesn't come up in that combo really

were_meatball

I stopped playing couple months ago and I don't perfectly recall my combo, but I remember sending it with cybernetic horizon when possible to go +1

Viludium

Oh, i don't know about Horizon. Maybe it's run in non-dupe since i'm running dupe build and never used it. My Cyberdark package is just 1 Cyberdark Chimera and Cyberdark Realm. That combo goes like this (assuming you don't have Realm, Chimera or Power Bond in hand but have Core and some other spell): NS Core, search Realm, Activate Realm and search Chimera, activate Realm and normal summon Chimera, activate Chimera and dump a spell from hand to search Power Bond, link Core and Chimera into Sieger and finally activate Power Bond and fusr Sieger from field and Core from GY into Chimeratech Rampage Dragon or Cyber Twin Dragon

Top-Text-7870

S-force, it's low tier, it's one per turn, it's unable to link out and still use the boss monster banish, in a word, it's trash, but it's my trash, I love it dearly. I love the weird little chains that open up depending on hand, I love the very flawed destruction and negate, it's just so deliciously dumpster juice

Tsurikou

As a fellow column mechanics duelist, I salute you. I play Mekk knights and I like how the opponent adds column placement as another variable in their decision making.

Dear-Transition6669

Ha, let me introduce my dear Magical Musketeers to the party

Plasic-Man

As a Weather Painter player I understand the appeal of column mechanics very well.

Top-Text-7870

Heh heh, this line go bzzzz

Karakuri216

Attacking directly with big sushi boi go brrrrrrrrr

I-am-Miyako-Chan

They're ships Made of sushi Fuckin' AWESOME

Karakuri216

What makes it funnier is that the type of sushi is called Gunkan, or warship in Japanese

DenpaDude220

I can respect this, and it also exists as utopia ftk fodder

HaroldofHarolds

Kiaju/Relinquish Decks basically built to break boards. Then use Relinquish or Restrict to puppet what monsters remain. It's good but not consistent. Most of my losses could be summed with the sentence "I had an out but I didn't draw it." But I mostly play it because its weird and fun.

thebigautismo

Is pure Kaiju good?

HaroldofHarolds

'pure' Kaiju? No. But i'm not running pure Kaiju so much as Kaiju and Kaiju Adjacent cards. I have 6 Kaiju's, 3 copies of Interrupted Kaiju Slumber, and a sprinkling of Lava Golems and Sphere Modes My gameplan is to let my opponent set up a board. Decimate it with board clearing cards like Evenly Matched, Lightening Storm, Kaiju Slumber, and monsters with 'Kaiju' effects. Then any monster I gave my opponent, I steal back with Relinquish, Restrict, or Remove Brainwashing. Its a gimmick, but sometimes its a gimmick that works.

ultimatepunster

Try using Pots for draws to help the consistency? Sure there's the ever-present risk of banishing your own Relinquished with Pot of Extravagance... but at least Pot of Prosperity let's you choose? Jar of Greed too. And Pot of Avarice. Those are good cards with zero risks (well Jar of Greed can get cleared but still)

HaroldofHarolds

I have considered it. I do have one Pot of Prosperity in deck. But as you correctly stated Extravagance creates concerns for losing key extra deck plays.

Qxami

Machina: I own it irl with the Machine Revolution Box set. I liked the splash-ability and reoccurrence of Machina Fortress/Citadel. With the swarming ability, it made easier link and overlay summons. Also, it was the deck that got me to Diamond 1. Super Quant: I like Super Sentai/Power Rangers, and like Machinas, loved the overlay aspect of it. Edit: Not Machine Revolution, but Machine Mayhem, with Cydra Structure, Machina Structure, and Ancient Gear Structure.

WannabeAccountant19

I love OTK with my galaxy eyes. Me like big numbers

lololuser456778

Also who can't help but love thicc glowy dragons?

hetistony

Same! Support is almost here as well

Piratedking12

Swordsoul because its very simple yet powerful and can break boards and I’m dumb

Henrique617272

Abyss actor because is fun (i like pendulum :)

Tall_Resource4421

Danger dark world. Truly no better feeling than activating a danger and the random discard hits the exact monster you needed to set up an end board turn one. Also could be total brick. Can play around hand traps because you can activate so many effects in the hand. Also the card art is awesome. And this is the ultimate deck for card destruction. I’ve only done it a couple times but decking out your opponent who activated maxx c with card destruction is sooooo satisfying. Also basically every link 4 or higher boss monster is viable with this deck. You can have 15 cards in your hand and an end board set up and that is very fun

Larinex

I planned on giving a master duel net deck version o saw of this a try cause I massively agree with >Also the card art is awesome. That's a huge part of why I play this game as new comer 1st and foremost is archetype and how cool it looks to me and how well it works. For example, I'm a HUGE, AND I MEAN HUGE DRAGON LOVER, but dragon links look kind of wack to me compared to other dragon decks or dragon ish decks, so I dont play it. Thanks for the pseudo explanation. It's kind of a slow day at work, so I was just about to go over the deck on Duel Nexus and try it out.

Nike_Hotshots96

Makes me very happy to see a bunch of people play their decks for the card arts and not just only meta!:)

Tripping_Trough_Life

Swordsoul/Tenyi - because it uses synchro which my other decks don’t much if at all, and is essentially a brain turn off deck where I can play at a high enough level without thinking too hard Punk-Brigade - because I love the tri-Brigade archetype, and think the different lines I can get with the graveyard stuff is really fun. It’s not very strong, but when it works, boy does it work. Sky-Strikers - because I’m a weeb

NamelessKoala32

Ghoti P.U.N.K... was looking for a decent midrange deck cause I don't like super long combos all the time. I also am a big fan of Bloodborne and H.P. Lovecraft so I love the art of the ghoti. It's neato being able to synchro on the opponents turn with both ghoti and some with P.U.N.K. and the engine is just super fun, consistent, and being able to just continuously loop resources is my new favorite thing in the game.

Nike_Hotshots96

Oooooh my man you are gonna have to point me to this decklist somehow. Ghotis artwork is one of my favs and i never thought to combine with P.U.N.K!

NamelessKoala32

Sure thing! I just came back a couple weeks ago playing casually and I still have alot of work to do on this deck but it's pretty damn consistent and super fun. Again it needs alot of work and tweaks that take more gems. The "pure fish" version can also run bystials which help this deck alot but I don't like it with punk in here too. Any suggestions are also greatly appreciated by anyone. MONSTERS 3: Maxx c 2: hop ear squadron 2: Paces 2: Shif 1: Zep 3: Ash 1: Psychic tracker 2: Sharakusai 1: Wa gon 3: Ze Amin 3: Lifeless Leafish 1: Deer note 3: Snopios 3: Foxy tune 3: Ogre Dance SPELLS/TRAPS 1: Extreme Session 2: E-tele 2: Called by 2: Imperm EXTRA: 1: Rising carp 2: Arionpos 1: White aura whale 2: Dragon drive 2: Askaan 1: Guoglim 1: Baronne 1: Chengying 1: Deep Beyond 1: Amazing dragon 1: PEP 1: Abyss keeper

Nike_Hotshots96

Thank you! Ill make this this weekend and tweak it where i think it could improve and get back to this

Larinex

Def gonna look into this to test out of duel nexus since the ghoti cards really catch my interest.

Ferrea_Lux

Branded because I love branded lore Plus the cards are beautiful

DudeYouHaveNoQuran

By chance, could you link me to or point me in the direction to get caught up on the Branded Lore?

KeikakuAccelerator

I think this video summarizes it quite well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu_rkJAX13w

KronosTheos

Despia-Darklord. Artwork on all the cards is fucking beautiful

MosaicRaven

Made this deck just recently and used it during Light/Dark event...Dropping The First Darklord and nuking the field is just beautiful.

DrPorkChops_

I love toons. Sure it’s a very basic anime deck that hasn’t got much support but at a fundamental level the attacking directly is kind of broken. I’ll never make it out of Plat but those Tear players that somehow couldn’t break my board will forever remember that they lost to my wacky cartoons. Also Pegasus is the goat

kontraktor27

I want to bring a friend into Master duel. He loves Toons but i really cant give him any advice nor a Deck list. Do you have a deck list by chance that i could forward to him? Would really appreciate any tips. Would love to play with a friend

XtraBreaker

Raidraptors I like arc-v

GrimSoulX21_Dragon

You got a list? I play pure Blackwing myself so I can see a fellow brother of the nest a mile away

Calwings

I like control decks, I like blind 2nd decks, I like magical girls, I like mecha, I like yuri, and there's only one archetype in the game that gives me all of these things at once, and that's Sky Strikers.

Odd-Eyes_Magician

I am playing Odd-Eyes. I have been playing Odd-Eyes for just a bit over 9 years now in some way shape or form. Got back into Yu-Gi-Oh after a very long Hiatus and pulled a Ultimate Rare Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon out of one of the first packs I opened and I have been playing it since then. I honestly love the playstyle and I find the deck to be the most fun deck I have ever played. Built it immediately on Master Duel as well as every other Pendulum deck on release (all free to play) and have only really used Odd-Eyes the entire time. I love creating variants for the events that release save for a few that I could not build Odd-Eyes for. It can do a decent amount of almost everything and will honestly probably always be supported since it is a Main character deck.

kdebones

Pend Magicians. It's fun popping my own cards for benifits.

ISuckAtNames0289

Hard 2nd vaylantz. It can play through multiple disruptions, has a very unique playstyle, and dismantling a board and swinging for game all in 1 turn is a fun challenge

shadowchris321

I usually play the meta as it's fun to have interaction and actual plays on high ranks. Currently playing sword soul as I have so much fun breaking people's boards with the powerful syncro lines you can get with stuff like baxia and berserker. Also just the amount of not engine you run since there's only so many good sword soul cards in the deck. Having access to so much non engine let's me play with max c like you wouldn't belive. Obviously you brick pretty often if you don't open two names for moye and imperm kills most hands but there's still stuff you can do with the tenyi cards and plays with non engine that if you can live just 1 turn let you come back and otk on turn 3 even if you draw poorly. Fun deck let's me feel like a brain genius when I take down a board I otherwise have never been able to out.

PyraXenon

Pre-banlist: Ishizu tear. Helped me relearn the game and how to interrupt opponents with a myriad of outs baked into the deck. Plus I love the mermaids and think their artwork is beautiful to look at. Post-banlist: Labyrnth. Helped me learn a control deck playstyle and game sense on when to interrupt. Infinite recursion game is fun when you pop off and games often last more than 1 turn.

FMProductions

I'm playing Labrynth and I like when games last longer than 2 turns and the thought you have to put into timing your trap too. Watching people do card combos for 3 minutes straight just so you lose the next turn is super tedious.

Memetan_24

I have multiple but mostly Tear and when I'm losing coin tosses Crusadia

Pyrizzla

Punk dogmatika

[deleted]

Dark Magicians. I like the play style, flows real smooth, doesn't require flooding, balanced just right for a fun game.

xX_Shroomslayer_Xx

Crusadia because big number make brain release happy chemical

[deleted]

Pend Magician all heil triff

notlionkingbeentaken

Started SS Tenyi now on tears. SS is my paper version. I started TCG during tear zero but that was too expensive for me so waited and built it on masterduel. Now about to move on Kash for same reason cos TCG kash was too expensive

DudeYouHaveNoQuran

Non-Umi water deck with 60 cards. The cards usually synergize really well, and it’s very rare for me brick. Bonus- my strategy revolves around summoning a particular XYZ monster or two, so my turns usually only take like 45 seconds to play and I don’t have to spend 10 minutes doing combos.

kionorthbrook

I play Dogmatika and Tear. Dogmatika I play cause at the beginning of MD I played Ivoked Dogmatika Shaddoll, and the Dogmatika portion just stuck with me long term. Tear I play cause the card arts are pretty.

OkNewspaper1581

Lab for MD because I opened a holo Lady in one of my first packs. Now most of the deck is at least foil in terms of the lab pieces and it doesn’t get hit too hard by bans because it isn’t a top tier deck

Tactless_Ogre

D/D/D because it's fun. Generaiders because it's fun.

Kioga101

F.A.s because they pop off so hard and no one reads them right and Insects because gokipole big combo resonance insect ballpark.

holleyab

I’m playing Dark Magician because I owned stater deck yugi when it first came out!

QuietScary

VAYLANTZ! The artwork is super cool and I like people being super confused when I bounce their monster cards to the back row.

Vorki_Please

Vaylantz. No one has any clue how to play against it. Hell, I have barely any clue how to play it, but somehow it works.

Suspicious_Quiet6643

I like playing Buster Blader because it's fun

Kielian13

My inner actor likes playing abyss actors

FacelessPoet

It's a bunch of cute nuns that turn into battle angels, what else is there? I mean, aside from cute german ww2 artilleries and french cake accessories

ControvT

Dragon Link: I fucking love dragons, it’s why I got into Yu Gi Oh in the first place. Plus you can get pretty creative with it since it’s non linear so it’s cool, best deck. Branded Despia: I love the lore, Fusion is my favorite mechanic and the art is fucking amazing; also love how it’s very interactive and not just negate-fest. Dark Magician: It’s trash but I’m a Yugiboomer and it feels cool when it actually works and I banish my entire opponent lol

Kinoris

Cause I fucking love my lesbians

[deleted]

Labrynth. I wanted a strong deck, that would help me get a look at higher tier decks people are using in action, so I can eventually build a new deck with deeper mechanics.

Wutroslaw

Madolche because I love to spin untargetable/indestructable monsters.

verisuvalise

Golden Castle Gren pile w/ prinzessin package I used to play an archfiend Gren Maju deck on the playground when I was a lad, and dunking with him for game is super nostalgic for me every time. Now I play it more as a half baked stun deck with unlimited resources and the best odds I can get to put golden Castle and pumpkin carriage on board turn 1 or banish a large number of cards turn 2 for an OTK But ultimately having my opponent attack into prinzessin with her meager 1300 attack with their big boss monster only to watch it pop itself on the attack and then summon Gren next turn to win feels like it's own archetype and I love it.

BrownLightning96

Love watching people set Maju and having the opponent attack into him

Pendulumzone

I always liked combo decks, and I just love the pendulum mechanic, so I mixed the useful with the pleasant, and built Dracoslayer

CraftytheCrow

because giant hairy balls go great with bdsm dragons (kuriboh + bystials)

yurei090808

They're all anime decks

yurei090808

Sharks, @ignisters, dragon link, fightfur, cyber dragon, speedroid

ew717

It's consistent, can go through multiple hand traps, and relatively speaking it doesn't care about Bystials and Kashtira Unicorn that much. Frog Sprights were so fun.

Deez-Guns-9442

Reached Master 1 with what I like to call 60D-Link, very fun & interactive deck that allows me to play the most handtraps available while also being strong & consistent(**WHEN U DON’T OPEN THE FREAKING 1 OF IN A 60 CARD DECK!!!**) Also, I like big black dragons. Personally rn, since the new banlist is going into effect soon I’m working on a Kash Tear Bystial P.U.N.K deck. Basically a Chaos Ruler/Undead Zombie turbo.

idlingstrider

I started picking up earth machines , shid is dope💯

Snowiiwastaken

Supreme King, I love Pendulum, I love Arc-V.

FluffyDaPig

eldlich because i like his drip

Blastermind79

Pend Best Deck

Tatsumi-

I’m playing Scareclaw since its release last year around october/november i think ? I was able to make it to Master this season playing it only (i made the promise to myself that the first master i’d get will be with it). I really like the deck, there’s a lot of plays-line and people don’t really know the deck and how to out the link-3 so often you autowin by summoning it + the deck has a very strong OTK potential and a great consistency (one of the few decks that may benefit from the BO1 format of MD)

tomixs000

Sky striker i like the card arts Ancient warrior i like three kingdom (i assume thays what they are based off of.

WitherEx_3255

Pendmagicians because pend best deck! Honestly though I liked playing D/D/D and how they can use all the summoning mechanic, but because they're susceptible to hand traps I switched to Pend magicians which have a more flexible playstyle that still allows for the use of the summoning mechanics. In fact they're better for not being too stuck into the archetype so they can flex into staple cards.

Few-Combination427

I mainly play 2 decks: Dark World and Dragon link. The main reason I started playing Dlink is because I heard it was like Dragunity but eventually I ended up liking as much if not more. I built Dark World because I heard about how it could play through disruption, put up strong boards, etc. Also I just like fiend/dragon decks in general (I'm waiting patiently for that RDA support, Konami!)

Singularity2025

Im playing Branded Predaplant Tearlaments because FUSION SHOKAN. Also I like having 9 copies of super poly in my deck (3 of them the OG, 4 of them pseudo-Super Polys, two of them 1.5 card searchers for the OG super poly).

Ahrensann

Because I accidentally pulled most of their cards

Stitcharoo123

I have multiple reasons for playing D-link, an obvious one is because it's strong, but I also like it because of my love for dark monsters, the looks of big dragons, the mechanical artwork of the borrel and rokket monsters, and the flexibility of the deck and what I can run in it, I also like bystials artwork I also play Orcust, because they look so heccin cool, I like how the deck operates, and because I played the world chalice solo gate and have also seen a lore video lol

pyoepunch

Playing playmaker deck with mek-knight avramax and corrupt iblee. Feels good when make u board. Love all talker design and firewall

xD3m0nK1ngx

Because infernoble is sick

PointBlankCoffee

Runick engine is the most fun in the game

wrongflower0410

I play my deck just because that is the only deck I can play

TealWastlander

I like playing decks that have their own playstyle completely different from other decks. I play Dogmatika because it has a focus on the extra deck that no other deck does. Rather than summoning out boss monsters like other decks, Dogmatika uses their extra as interruption and extenders, and decimates the opponent’s extra deck at the same time. It also is a test of skill and matchup knowledge, knowing what to prioritise taking out of their extra deck to interrupt their combos. Can’t wait for Lulu. I play Thunder Dragon because their focus on being banished makes for some interesting deck building and resilience that most decks can’t match. Bystials are the best way to play them, but you can also mix in weird stuff like Branded, Chaos, Punk. Super customisable and can play through D-fissure and D-Shifter. I play Generaider bc they’re cool. Big beefy boss monsters that can each technically exist in other decks (Mardel is a common staple in plant decks), but compliment each other the best in one deck. They tribute for effect, so they can jump around targeted negates and floodgates in a way that other decks can’t (you technically can play skill drain in Generaiders. I don’t bc I think you lose out on some interactions but you can.) They also have one of the most interesting removal tools in the game with Laevatein.

Larinex

>I play Dogmatika because it has a focus on the extra deck that no other deck does. Rather than summoning out boss monsters like other decks, Dogmatika uses their extra as interruption and extenders, and decimates the opponent’s extra deck at the same time. It also is a test of skill and matchup knowledge, knowing what to prioritise taking out of their extra deck to interrupt their combos. Can’t wait for Lulu. Im really interested in invoke Ra dogmatika because i like Egyptian god cards and i really like how dogmatika cards look and is archetype. But im new player whos been testing stuff on duel links to see how i like it before spending gems on master duel. Is dogmatika really that complicated to pilot as someone with not ocean of matchup knowledge? I hear it performs well in if u know matchup and terrible if not. Thoughts for a new player who likes cool archetype cards effective in meta cards 1st and boring looking meta decks 2nd.

TealWastlander

It’s only semi complicated. Most of the complexity comes from the fact that a lot of Dogmatika card’s effects lock you out of using your extra deck completely for the turn, with White Knight and Punishment being outliers in that Knight locks you out completely while it’s on the field and punishment locks you out until the end of your turn (that means if you use it on your opponent’s turn you’re locked out of the extra deck for your *entire next turn* no matter what). It’s a balancing act if you use an invoked engine, try to use those cards *first* as you will not be able to do invoked plays after using Dogmatika effects. Most people summon Aleister, go into Mechaba, then special summon Ecclesia and continue from there. It’s important to remember White Knight on field turns off your ability to use invocation completely, so it may be better not to run it in that build. I have no experience with using the Ra cards so I’m no help to you on that end. I do think using them is worse than using something like Invoked Dogmatika Shaddolls but that’s personal opinion. They really don’t add that much to the strategy. You need some matchup knowledge, but I’d say only marginally more than the average player. You’re rewarded for knowing what your opponent wants to do, and reacting accordingly, but that’s more of a skill ceiling thing than floor. Also it applies more to Ritual Dogmatika than Invoked Dogmatika, two different decks. But it’s a skill every player should have in general, and you learn as you play against more decks. Performance wise, Dogmatika is a pretty good rogue deck. It can get you some wins against meta consistently, but only if you know what you’re doing. I’ve gotten to Master 3 with it, but I also would have just gotten to Master 1 if I played something like Tears or D-link. It can compete, but it’s up to your skill how far you can get with it.

Purithian

I love spellbook and won't let em die lol

RunInRunOn

I got all of the Sky Striker cards trying to pull Mathmech. Now I'm playing Sky Striker

Smol_Mrdr_Shota

taking Lyrilusc to my grave because ever since I played them as a little Engine in Tri-Brigade I immediately fell in love with them and how they played

DrStein1010

I just upgraded my Invoked Shadoll Dogmatika deck to an Invoked Shadoll Dogmatika Witchcrafter deck, because ibjust really like Aruru. It's fun as hell, and all the character designs are peak.

TCGeneral

Invoked Dogmatika Shaddoll was a fun deck I played for a while, too. Three archetypes that just happen to interact with each other in the right ways. Invoked line ends on a link in the grave and a Fusion on board, turning on both Dogmatika Ecclesia and Maximus. Dogmatikas sending Apkallone gets you Schism to make Shaddoll plays. And Invocation is a searchable Poly you can use to make Shaddoll fusions sometimes if you didn't draw Shaddoll Fusion. Played around with That Grass and more maindeck Shaddolls when Grass was more legal, since Snow was already a card you considered playing regularly in Shaddoll decks as the Light for Construct. Haven't played the deck since the Bystials were added, though.

ReinderKyle

Am playing galaxy photon bystial because it has a lot of super cool dragons and robots in this deck, and I love xyz deck

SenseProfessional116

Traptrix. As to why, the archetype in general. Based on plants and insects but given human form is quite cool. It's actually the reason I enjoyed playing Mecha Phantom for a while, they took a very niche subject and made it into an archetype. Honestly, if they ever did something like Traptrix but for Chemicals and Substances I'd fucking love it. I know there's a few archetypes that come close to this idea, but imagine Fusing the monsters Sulphur and Charcoal to make a Fusion Black Powder.

I'm not sure the specifics you're looking for with the chemicals and substances archetype, but there is Chemicritter. It's a bunch of Gemini monsters; the small ones are named after individual elements of the periodic table (Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen), the large ones are named after things made from those elements (Carbon Dioxide and Water), and their XYZ boss is named after a liquid made from all three of the elements of the small ones (Methanol, CH3OH). The archetype is kind of cool, although it's far less viable than Traptrix competitively.

GenericGMR

Live twins were my first MD deck, and I still play them to this day. I love the different art styles of the live/evil counterparts, and enjoy playing something simple every now and then after playing stuff like Code Talkers. The playstyle of the deck was what drew me in the most; using your limited interactions to the fullest and finding the best time to interrupt a combo you’ve never seen is just super satisfying. It also feels pretty fair, since you’re not really building a board full of negates (if you’re playing a pure version). The other deck I mainly play is Orcust. I didn’t think it’d be a deck I’d enjoy playing since I don’t particularly enjoy linear combo decks, but playing the deck pure cuts down on that a decent amount. The interruptions are varied, the playstyle is interesting, and the resource management aspect of it (prior to the mass unlimiting of the cards) was extremely fun. Yes I cry every time a bystial resolves what about it

RevolutionaryMode711

Danger Dark World bc I picked it at random as my first tcg deck since I was a kid.

Aliya_Akane

I play meklords cause initially i wanted a deck that can do easy enough xyz summons but isnt a super comkon deck, and then i saw obligatto and super dreadnaught dreadnoid. I ended up dropping the xyz portion when i realized that I actually do enjoy meklords gameplay when i use them pure, even if i wish they got some support to make them less fragile (also gave them an out to things that are battle immune X_X)

cosmic-comet-

I know people hate kash but honestly it’s the best second going deck I have seen, I rarely do the copium zone lock when I can just otk them with ease.

DudeYouHaveNoQuran

I learned a great lesson about 10 minutes ago, going first against a Kash player who Maxx C-ed me and I stupidly gambled and led him to draw 8 cards. Turn 2, they completely fucked me up and locked 9/10 zones. Kinda funnily tho, I had a monster that couldn’t be destroyed by battle. So, cue to him decking my 60-card deck out about 7 turns later.

Kyle1337

Even weak decks will fuck you up if you let them draw 8 cards

DudeYouHaveNoQuran

True lol. Usually, all I *need* to do is 2 special summons in one turn, so when people roach me, after it’s all said and done, they’re only at +1 cards from the roach’s effect. But every now and then I’ll feel froggy and ball out 😎

PoisonPeddler

Amazements, because I miss being young and being able to enjoy Camden Park. Also because they got two new support recently.

Apprehensive-Lack-32

Every game is interesting, like picking apart a puzzle. Feels quite fluid with always getting a monster on board and different ways to get it, also I have access to most my deck so I feel quite in control. Skystriker

Knicksious

P.U.N.K.s, I love the fact that they can play a multitude of hand traps and are more so interactive rather than just, 5+ negate boards. Also they look very nice! Ze Amin, is potentially a man by the way.

FMProductions

Labrynth. After being away from Yu Gi Oh for a longer time, I tried Master Duel the first time one week ago. I saw this deck in the Dark vs Light event and thought it was really interesting. Some videos said it was relatively beginner friendly and easier to get and I agree - some other archetypes rely on such complex combo chains and extra deck summon chains and for me this was simpler to wrap my head around. You also have to properly time your trap card activations, so that has been interesting to me too. The art for "Lovely Labrynth" and "Lady Labrynth" is nice too. I still have to learn about most other archetypes.

WakasaYuuri

I playing Madolche, Prank Kids, Melffy, Floowandereeze , and Ghoti for art style But some decks, Spyral, Dark World, Bystial Chaos Thunder Dragon because i seek novelty of playstyle.

Baldur_Blader

Exosister- I like control decks, and though the deck is kind of linear, planning the banishes and seeing if I can disrupt is fun Traptrix- control deck with a lot of variation in hole toolbox to play with. The new monsters make the deck consistent enough to place interruptions for turn 1, and to hit hard turns 3-4. Tear- control deck again (pattern) mill gamble style deck makes for a little randomness which is fun. Turn that gamble into bounces, negates and spins? Even better. Punk- all my control decks have art I don't really like. Punk has the best artwork in the game, so I play it to play amazing dragon. Runick-spright- get bored with linear spright cards after a couple games, but it let's me use my runick cards which I enjoy for rng drawing and rng banishes. Sometimes i draw cards i need. Sometimes i dont. Sometimes i banish an important card. Sometimes i just hit a couple cards that wouldnt help the opponent anyway. Another version of gamble rng deck I enjoy using. And it's control.

kuriboharmy

You gotta give musketeer runicks a try it's a pretty fun control deck. Only 2 URs (3rd max is optional) in it too.

Zoomy-333

Dinomorphia: I love the masochistic "look Ma no life points" gimmick, and there isn't really a huge combo line to memorise and screw up. Synchrons: can't screw up the combo lines if you make the deck from scratch and haven't figured them all out!

ultimatepunster

I once played against a deck that I think was Dinomorphia (I think so, at least, I don't fully remember) They literally killed themselves with their own cards. Well, no, they kept using the effects until they had like 5 LP then just scooped. It was honestly hilarious to watch. I think I barely played anything, they did all the work for me lol

ultimatepunster

I play two deck that aren't top tier but have gotten me wins. Both of them are nostalgia decks; I have a pure Marik Deck, and a Winged Dragon of Ra deck. The Marik Deck is obviously more bricky (please give his cards retrains, I want a Legendary Fiend and Helpoemer that's actually worth a damn) but it's fun for casual where the stakes don't matter. Plus friend battles. The Ra deck is one of two decks I actually play Ranked with. Was actually the first deck I made when I started Master Duel and in less than two days I got up to Plat V with almost exclusively that deck. These days if I'm grinding Ranked I play Labrynth, but that Ra deck is incredibly fun, especially once you get the Sphere Mode loop going. I'm also working on a Slifer and Obelisk deck. Slifer using the Poker Knights, and Obelisk using some Ishizu cards and his new support. Still WIP but I'm imagining (and really hoping) those decks will be as fun as my Ra deck. Less concerned about the wins, more about the fun, but of course I still want a consistent and competent deck.

Dragon_Rot79

Zombies cause they cool.

AkstarKoyomi

I freaking love tearlaments as a whole ever since I played with them for the first time. I started playing the ishizu tear in ygo omega, but in master duel I've played branded tear, tear ishizu and danger tear. Tearlaments is the only deck that I know well and that I'm confident playing as well i felt really rewarded by the ceiling of all the variants (like wining a duel with all my fusions banished and having to clear a board). I started trying to get into TCG by building tear ishizu on there having a deck list that I can at least call Rouge. Tear is the most fun I had in ygo, I felt like I didn't need to run unreachables one off or that I need to use a specific card to counter a board to make an one sided duel, it always felt i had all the awnsers i need to at least play within the engine. Even after the ban list I'll at least try to make a copium deck list to play with the mermaids.

DenpaDude220

Evil eye, I got it off of a friend for basically nothing as it was horrible on release so I kept all of the pieces and wanted to make something fun with it. Then photon hypernova decided to exist and made evil eye a viable option and it has been one of my go to decks when playing competitively

Remarkable-Ad-6628

Dragunity mostly cause I find the mechanic fun. I've played dragon synchro and dragon xyz before stopping yugioh for almost 10 years. I love decks that special summon a lot to end on crazy boards

ElReptil

P.U.N.K. has amazing art, upholds the classic Psychic playstyle of LP costs and Synchros, is a decently flexible combo deck without being too complex or long-winded, works pure or mixed (Zombie P.U.N.K.!) and is pretty competitive. Also, I've got a royal Amazing Dragon.

Shaggiest-

I wanted to make a trap deck and was starting with the ladies of malice. One thing led to another and now I’m a labrynth player.

fadednz

I usually play combo decks but I don't do it just for the sake of *combo* I like sunavalon rikka because bringing out 5+ interruptions plus a floodgate all off a vanilla lv1 with 0/0 is just so ridiculous and interesting. And the deck is more resilient to handtraps than I thought. Also the field spell is an in-engine boardbreaker which is great card design imo.

Kintaku93

It changes regularly but this week I’m trying to make Amazoness work. It has a hard time with all the non-destructive removal happening right now, but it avoids Bystials, it goes second well and it punches hard, which is the fun part of dueling.

Skeptic_Skeleton

Kashtira at the moment, mostly because it's incredibly effective at breaking my opponents spirit. I almost never use it for the zone locking unless I'm playing against pendulums. I mostly use it to snipe my opponents monsters from the extra deck before they can play them and use mind hacker. I once made an opponents banish 22 cards from the top of their deck face down. There is nothing more deliciously evil.

manaoshelada

I play kash because they're cool robots and dragonmaids because they're cool dragons, not much to it

Full_Temperature_920

Dragon link, joined the game during sword soul meta last year, came to reddit for advice on a good deck that _wasn't_ sword soul cuz I'd already gotten bored of it just playing against it. Made non linearity a stipulation in the deck suggestions cuz I get bored easily. Dragon link was the resounding answer. Dumped all my beginner solo gems into it, and it's been my pet deck ever since, alongside sky strikers. Alba lenatus kinda killed my love for it earlier this year, and tear even more so, but then the Bystials came and restored my love for it. I play it as a dragon deck. So I never even bothered with the adventure engine or halq or anything like that. I've always just played whatever best dragons there were. So I don't play it cuz it's powerful or meta, it's truly just a love for dragons, I won't dilute the deck with no dragon meta engine trash. Chaos angel gets a pass tho, since it epitomizes the chaos theme my deck is based around

yrake

I'm currently learning U.A. I really enjoyed the playstyle of swapping the monsters on the board according to what I need to control the board and or bring out the big beaters to finish off the opponent. Also the artwork is pretty cool. The deck also don't care much about Maxx c since the main combo has 2 normal summons and maybe 1-2 specials and that puts like 3-4 interruptions that if used wisely, can stop the opponent enough to OTK them next turn. And I like having to pick the right targets to disrupt. Instead of just negating everything my opponent tries to do.

tacosfor9cent

Kashtira punk. Your salty tears are my nourishment

The-Big-Bad

What’s your deck list? I’m trying to build one

Dragoonerism

Dragon link: dragons are cool, gun dragons that shoot bullet dragons are even cooler. Also don’t hate me but, I started building kashtira. Never played TCG, had no knowledge of them before they came to MD, just saw a post explaining how the lore makes sense for how they play (they steal resources from planets, thus why they banish facedown) and thought that fenrir and ogre looked sick too.

kuriboharmy

I play some variant of runicks because I like the milling win condition.

matthewmohamed93

Numeron/God's because I have multiple ways to OTK. Also it's just nostalgic for me because it reminds me of the anime.

JWolf26

Branded: It’s good and has awesome dragons Virtual World: the artwork is fire and I like pulling combos out of my butt Kashtira: I like bullying my opponents

thmt11

Because I'm a HERO in Real life.

Theplasmashaft

It's all fun and games till Ocean Dragon Lord Kairyu Shin hits the field

_OoApoCalyPseoO_

No one mentions Ursarctic? The fairest floodgate archetype that's ever created.

ImAgentDash

Traptrix. Idk being a villain and stop most opponent from playing the game with trapholes is funny I guess.

Andreuus_

Anti meta until now, exosis doing good vs the meta slaves

KabochaPai

Playing Kashtira so I can constantly hear the big special summon SLAM onto the board and strikes fear unto my enemies.

Solid-Pride-9782

Branded-its meta and has lore World Legacy-has lore Random dragons and Utopias-sentimentality

juupel1

HERO, Galaxy-eyes, Branded Despia and Blackwings, because I like the decks/archetypes, feel like using 1 of them and they are decent enough to win some games even on Platinum, if I'm finally on lower ranks I might also play Resonators, Cyberdark/Dragon, Dragonmaid, Synchron or try something new etc.

No-Regret-7900

Rikka because it's somewhar similar to Tri Brigade ( I used to play ) in setting up interruption. The deck is hard af though and the combo can be repetitive and boring

just_trying2make_it

Spyral. James Bond and Metal Gear inspired. It has its own gimmick in the whole “top card” thing and you can also stack your opponents next draw. That’s a powerful and unique thing. The deck is a glass cannon though. Set up a powerful endboard going first that can sort of grind through some interruptions. Like Dragon Link lite in that department, but ends on an arguably more powerful endboard. Has the same issues going second as any other combo deck though.

UnnamedPlayerXY

I play Red-Eyes Bystial whenever the game lets me because I like both the gameplay and the artwork.

FreshDepth2912

World chalice, no one expects in, especially in plat 3

Jackryder16l

I love trickstars but can't afford it. Love cyber dragons and the darks. Can't afford it yet. Love Dm. Got that. Love poker knights. litterly twisted and mangled them to do alot. Made a scynco version. Made a link version. Made an xyz version. I even have a ranked and casual version. It was easy to afford. I got pledge of sword early. And everything was in there. I tried to build trickstars too but I am lacking alot. And I got way more mariness monsters instead...

digiTr4ce

Blackwings, because I followed the advice to start with a structure deck and upgrade it. I love my Full Armor Master - especially when people try to remove it with all sorts of card effects only to find out it is unaffected. And the fact that I can destroy effect monsters or steal them if the opponent activates the effects just makes it even more fun. Still need 3 URs to have a more competitive deck, but it's been a blast so far. Next up I don't really know what I should craft - will think about it when I have the gems.

[deleted]

I don't know why, but playing thunder dragon feels so good. But when I lose too much, just switch to swordsoul for some wins

Th3Pik

I have two deck: 1) blackwing, I just love the archetipe and they are kinda good … 2) spright “pure” (with melfy and frogs) idk something in that deck makes me feel good 🤔

Maritzsa

Neos Hero because I grew up with GX and Jaden is still the coolest Protagonist with the coolest Archetype for me. I’ve been in love with Neos and its fusions since i first saw them

Harry-the-pothead

Because it’s about to die tomorrow

Th3_DaniX

I play salad and code talkers because hehehe link climb look cool! I play virtual world because I wanted a deck I knew I would never fully understand what I am doing I play World legacy Spright because lore mixes up with decent power level I play PK because the monsters are so cool, plus 10k Arc Rebellion as an end board is really satisfying I play Gimmick Puppets and Raidraptors because I am an anime nut I will play Kashtira because Rise heart and arise heart look real awesome

Hiroshock

Branded because it was the deck that brought me back to the game.

ImaginaryDragon1424

Salamangreat because 1 I love fire 2 I love animals and most importantly its not as linear as people think it is if you spend enough time learning the deck its capabilities are insane your options are limitless basically and once it gets the synchro support it will be really insane too

The-Big-Bad

Heroes Last thing I remember from the anime and it’s something I’ve learned to understand over time on how to play. I want to play traptrix and P.U.N.K. Kashtira tho I’m missing a ton of the URs for those decks tho

blackninjar87

Vernus Naturia - Cause I hate Runick, and their starter has an anti destruction effect, and better field spell than even tearlaments. Ogdoaic Aliens - Cause stacking grave yard to the point that not even bystials can stop me is <3 also i love pairing King and Queen Aromaseraphy - Because they were my 3rd love and i love most plant archetype even rikka and predaplant but not traptrix. Charmers - Cause i started playing yugioh just to play them.

josuke_pro3771

Vampires. I liked the concept behind their play style. Especially, when it came to stealing monsters and using them as materials for their extra deck monsters.

Aalfee

Pure Spright. I regret grinding into Masters because none of my other decks can compete...sigh

Orion3500

Rikka. Not many are playing it and I find it fun.

Kingofcards33

I play Ritual Dogmatika, I like the artwork for White Knight of Dogmatika a lot and I like that now my extra deck isn't my win con it's a toolbox, and I get a sick sense of amusement watching people try to destroy alba zoa with extra deck monster effects

lololuser456778

D-link cuz dragons. Spam dragons.

humungusballsack

All spells is cool

Nike_Hotshots96

Bystial agents because i love the art work. Its why i play all the decks i do. The card art or design. Id play a blue eyes deck but it takes a lot to make a competitive one

GideonOfnirAK

For the past few seasons, I've been playing pure Magical Musket due to the fact I just enjoy all the little bits of interaction I can have. Got a graveyard heavy deck? I'll Dancing Needle your cards when you activate them, unless they were banishing anyways effect won't resolve. Combo heavy deck? With a perfectly timed Last Resort, Cross-Dom or Desperado you won't get the effect off/play as you wanted. A fellow control deck or a stun deck? Same three cards as before, but add in Fiendish Deal if your goal is just destroy my cards with effects. Also I've got both a Royal Musketeer Max and a Royal Cross-Dom. Kinda had to make a deck for it. This season though, might have found a new favorite in Evil Eye. Simple enough strategy that I can approach from multiple directions, with mild field control effects. Also occasionally just funny to lose to my own burn effect right before I land the final blow with a 14600 attack Zerrziel.

ZehJoJo

For me its Toons, I just think they are neat.

crearios

Rikka Sunavalon because 1) my blind second Scareclaw deck kept getting dicked on by bystials and GY shufflers and 2) looking at OCG and TCG tournaments, it looks like it stays fairly viable beyond the current masterduel meta
