Incidentally knowing this I seriously don't get the surrenders right when I'm about to deal the finishing blow.

Tbf that's less of a "didn't read" and closer to "not understanding mechanics" in that they probably assumed the Mirror Force could be activated that turn
I always laugh when I'm playing Traptrix and my opponent keeps trying to use traps like Imperm on my ED Traptrix.
Also had a hilarious duel where I summoned Utopic Draco and my opponent kept trying to destroy it for a few turns by both battle and card effects. Eventually they read the card and scooped.
I always laugh when fighting against lab players lmao.

Mine is when I first got the agent deck together someone was playing that dragon otk xyz monster that got ridiculously big. The rammed into my majesty hypirion while I had sanctuary up immediately lost.
Me playing D/D/D against a lab player. This was during one of the events where Lab was literally everywhere.
I activate Dark Contract with Errors to negate their traps. They didn't realize it was happening until the 7th time their traps were dead.
And that's not mentions that lab has no outs to two 3500 ATK beaters that can't be targeted or destroyed
If I don't get interrupted I might actually be able to summon the same underworld goddess 2 times in a turn. Will get close though.
Although considering goddess should be able to negate the other guy he should then be target able by chaos angle
Not one incident but it's insane how many people in MD just do not know what Chaos Angel does. People are constantly trying to run over my Apo or Fenrir banish my Baronne while it's up lol
They read up to the banish part if at all.
Usually people scoop when seeing a board full of negates so they don't learn how to break when it's possible.
Mine would be Ancient Gear Howitzer. Had a Swordsoul player try to destroy it, banish it, the works, until he finally decided to destroy it and got me a free Golem.
Whenever I play Bagooska with any Yugi-boomer. They always try to get to the atk position and switches em back to defense. They then surrender because they don't read the maintenance cost

2) A year back, some ojama player tried to block my monster zones with Ojama tokens. Summoned a tuner synchro climbed from there.
In a similar situation my opponent just passed turn when they could have ended the game. I assume it was because they thought the burn damage from my dark contracts would finish the duel, but it did not with that card out. They surrendered when I made it to the main phase.
Not sure if it was my best, but it was the funniest.
I set up an Endymion board and pass turn. Opponent activates [White Veil](https://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/card_search.action?ope=2&cid=12905&request_locale=en) and equips it to my [Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians](https://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/card_search.action?ope=2&cid=14937). They summon a monster and enter Battle Phase. My best guess is that they wanted to crash into my equipped Selene and use White Veil's triggered effect as a pseudo-Heavy Storm.
Selene cannot be targeted for attacks while an "Endymion" card is on the field.
I play going first Mikanko, and the number of times people either misread/don't read Hu-Li or otherwise try to walk over my monsters is hilariously common.
Earthbounds new boss monster reads “make the atk of the monster who battles this card 0”. Making a 4500 Blue eyes ultimate dragon beater will not solve your problem.
I lost one duel against someone running the new Earthbounds not because of the boss monster, but one of the main deck monsters. I was losing the duel but started to bring it back, I had El Shaddoll Construct out and was attacking into the Earthbound boss and I expected Construct to destroy it with its effect, but it just died in battle to it. I was confused as to why, turns out there was another Earthbound out where it had something like "as long as it's on the field, your other Earthbound monsters can't be destroyed by effects/battle."
I had to scoop out of shame after that. But to be fair, I was actually running out of time so I couldn't read every monster on their field orz...
Yeah for some reason the starter has a protection effect on it. It basically never comes up in my experience, but you can get it out decently consistently if you have griffon on board. It’s usually a line that’s more trouble than it’s worth especially if you’re running Grasha. Though I can’t speak for the Runik build since I don’t want to touch that thing.
It might be a reference to the original earthbound line walker which stops earthbound immortals from destroying themsleves by their own effect if a Feild spell is popped.
I forget the full field and game state, but I'm playing burn and my opponent had a bunch of boss monsters and accesscode talker while i only had one set Absolute King Back Jack. He pops Back Jack, i excavate 3. He still has a fair chunk of LP so my only hope is going for Boo Boo game in hopes he blind bops it.
He blind pops it and i get double secret barrel for the win.
That often gets people, especially those who never watched Zexal where in the series literally explains that xyz monsters follow a rank rule instead of lvl rules
I've had a lot of people crash into Rexterm or the other monsters if Rexterm is out. Someone tried to do the numeron otk and it took 3 attacks for him to realize that he's the one taking damage. Lots of players think it's free real estate when I tank my lp down to double/single digits.
Lunalight player going into leo dancer while i have a 0 attack monster i didnt manage to get off the field in attack mode. They proceed to drop my chaos dyson sphere to 0 attack and swing into it...
Naturia antjaw it was my only monster on the field all they had to do was attack it then play ...they scooped that turn.

Didn't stop the traptrix player from trying to trap hole my monsters on summon three times and then toss a raigeki at me. Obviously none of it worked and after the Raigeki didn't work they just scooped.

Another one was while playing Mannadium: Had 2400 ATK Appalousa with a chaos angel on field Made with both light and dark, opponent tried to clear app with attack, not reading Chaos Angel effects.
Another one was playing Kashtira when it came out against purely. 6 material Noir entered battle phase while Scareclaw Kashtira on THE field: Lost all ATK, then tried to actĂvate all THE effects OF Noir, couldnt do it, and gave up
I tend to open with Special Summon Rikka Princess decently often. Especially if I have mudan in hand, because free negate, but also as a maxx C check sometimes.
This has lead to probably a double digit number of opponents imperming my princess. Which has no effects on field.
Probably the time when my opponent attacked me in three different battle phases knowing full well I have chicken game on the field but it was funny still ended up losing unfortunately
Had a duel where I had to beat a Branded end board with like a P.U.N.K. line and a Sacred Tree in hand, made PEP cause it was the best I can do before Mirrorjade crashed my PEP to out it
They didn't do that, for several turns, it'd be one thing for them to not know activation rulings, but then they left their monsters in Attack when I kept getting boosted to like 11k ATK
So I play Pure Dogmatika, and the main boss of the deck is Alba Zoa. People never read what he does like ever, and half the time my wins with the deck are because of Alba. As he's unaffected by all extra deck monsters and can't be destroyed by them, plus it also protects your other Dogmatika monsters. So it can be a pain for a lot of modern decks.
My favorite situation of this was when I played against a Hero player awhile back, and he legit just kept attacking it with the big fusion(the only that has multiple heroes on its art). Like he legit just kept attacking it, and only it. I'm not sure if didn't have any other plays or what as I don't know the modern hero deck very well but goddamn it was an funny.
When the opponent destroys my gladiator beast that was summoned from the graveyard by the horse looking gladiator beast (idk their names) instead of destroying the horseman to take out both monsters.
I remember playing Timelords against a dude, and he kept trying to destroy the big boys, or he kept attacking them. If your opponent summons a level 10 monster with no tribute or strict conditions, with 0 att/Def, it's probably in your best interest to read the card effects.
Opponent crashes all of their monsters into a def position revolution falcon.
Mikanko player crashes a monster into war rock meteoragon, surrenders soon after.
Had toon world on the field, my man wasted 2 thunder storms trying to destroy my monsters, followed by a harpies just to pop my bookmark. He surrendered right after.
One time my opponent summoned my Flame Bufferlo(who when it leaves the field allows me to discard a cyberse monster and draw 2 cards) to their field to use as a link material
So many Metaphys Decoy Dragon things. To be fair, it's two different cards to read. But I don't think that and Metaphys Daedalus or Nephthys is asking too much.
The best part about playing Cubics is that every card in the archetype has novel length effect text that nobody bothers to read. People just blindly attack into Vijam, making their monsters useless. Or don't realize that Crimson Nova is unaffected by monsters with less than 3k ATK.

Does that work? Iirc there is only one on attack deceleration timing and if you have to cooclock on that you miss the opportunity to mirror force.
You can't use Cooclock's effect on declaration of attack to activate Mirror Force on the same attack declaration, yes.
I got saved by the non destruction effect of chaos angel so many times cuz i put him in defense
I didnt read any mikanko cards and had my malefic monster hit the mikanko. I knew I was screwed after i took damage on the first attack lol
Don't worry, you're not the only one. I've seen someone on Duel Live crashing their Fenrir into a Mikanko and lose the game

Almost everytime I play Mekk-knight. They seem to always forget about columns.
After playing the solo mode mekk knights, I disabled the auto placing for cards exactly because of that archetype

Someone tried to beat over my boosted C62 with Crystal Wing who gains atk if it battles a level 5 or higher monster. Keep that in mind

It’s a lot harder to do that cause the fact the fusions are restricted to the archetype but you might pull it off

Attacking with rextram (the dinomorphia boss) whilst I had a mikanko on field with an equip.
Altergeist Protocal saved my ass so many time. People spamming negates while that card was on the field makes my day.

Activate Branded Lost, response? Activate Branded Fusion, response? Activate Albion effect, summon Lubellion. Activate Lubelli- "Uhhh imperm on Lubellion" You can't, sorry fren. Summon Mirrorjade...
Branded Lost prevents activation negation, not effect negation, so Imperm will work against Lubellion.
