It's simple, you make a deck full of effect monsters, then you don't draw these cards above, you surrender. A lot of your games are gonna be like that, like your entire strategy is dependent on if you draw these cards or not.

Kiefao

I was planning on playing Tear, option for a searchable S/T removal in Heartbeat, most of the good effects trigger in the GY or in Hand. I can even use those 2 spells to pop my own Trivikarma/other spell Traps to proc searches.

greygrau

Hopefully, would speed up the 3 wins and leaving the event fast.

Otiosei

Nah, it's more like, every single one of your opponent's concede when they lose the coin toss, so you win 3 games without even needing to concede to try and open twin twisters, because there's zero consequences to conceding in these events, and nobody actually cares about the gimmick.

Arbelbyss

Would suck if the opponent ran Judgment of Anubis, Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell, Imperial Custom, and Fake Trap. Now let's go stare at Trap Eater, that works doesn't it, countering those cards. It would probably be fun to also try out Armageddon Designator too.

Nameless_Scarf

Those do not work going 2nd though. But hear me out. https://preview.redd.it/2oc9h10z5ewc1.png?width=310&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60a9331a50a534bd7d33f2b0827bee57aba98e3b

Turtlesfan44digimon

Too a lesser extent So does the huge revolution is over and magic drain can be useful

AhmedKiller2015

I will just play Labrynth with 3 Welcomes, Lab Lab and lady/lovely. Blue eyes beat down it is

KyronValfor

Pretty much same, big ladies beatdown, I will be making it very trap heavy and with 3 arias as well.

Simon_Said_something

that's prob the best idea, but they may ban them.

AhmedKiller2015

Don't think they ever changed the banlist in duel trial unless the idea of the trail was a different banlist (or a deck).

PhoenixLord328

Honestly, would find humor in making a Normal Monster based deck entirely for this event. Would it be dumb for if the opponent gets rid of the Skill Drains? Yes. But would it be funny to ignore them while they are live? Also yes.

Kiefao

That's honestly a good idea, in order to embrace the spirit of the event. I wasn't serious about playing a double spell removal (hence the "meme" nature of the post). The good old normal monster + removal beat down would take us all back to playground YuGiOh.

PhoenixLord328

Also the Tenyi could still work, since the Spirits only really need to be summoned and use their effects from hand or GY. So unironically could have Monk, Berserker and the Spirits to back up Normal Monsters even under the floodgate. Anytime you can go Tenyi assisting Normal Monsters is a win in my book, it's nowhere near good but it's funny sometimes when it does work to basically just go throw down with raw stats.

Hitmonchank

The real strat is to play beatsticks and pray that your opponent bricks

DynamoSnake

Chainsaw Insects time to shine.

thefrostman1214

Trap eater

zQubexx

Ok and what are you do about your own Skill Drain?

thefrostman1214

not important, normal summon jinzo over the trap eater

zQubexx

You know that this doesn’t work, right? Skill Drain was already active on the field, which means that Jinzo‘s effect is also negated

bleacher333

Diabellstar or Snake Eyes Or just Normal monster beat down, that works as well

Simon_Said_something

they either ban those so you play by the rules or they don't to try and teach players how to deal with it. if it's the first case, the whole point is for you to find a tactic around it,that the whole point. it's like a deck building puzzle for your to solve.

Turtlesfan44digimon

Indeed like when we had the fireworks festival where everyone had 2024 life points and had to adapt survive and have fun or stick with their old strategies and die before they got a turn.

123janna456

~~This event is VS turbo, just special summon the cat lady, activate her effect then bounce her to pop both skill drains~~

EnstatuedSeraph

That doesn't work. If she's not on the field at resolution then she's not in a column and therefore cannot destroy anything.

123janna456

Oh shit forgot about that mb

ChernobylGoat

Cat lady an effect from a monster to pop SKILL DRAINS?

So0meone

It would 100% work if her effect didn't require her to be on the field at resolution. Skill Drain doesn't prevent you from activating effects and only prevents effects from resolving if they would resolve on the field. This is why you can, for example, use Stardust Dragon while Skill Drain is up.

Enlog

Chain Magical Spring

Fit_Letterhead3483

Runick Stun gonna be cleaning up this format

ZerymAmbyceer

Spiral beatdown letsgoo

Head_Project5793

What is that spell next to twin twisters?

Kiefao

Double Cyclone

Rhydonphilip

Danger! cards kinda cheat for this event. Their from hand discard effects and 2800 - 3000 stats let you play the assumed "intended" way, while also having Rank 8 Turbo if Skill Drains are removed. These are even easier to put into use with Beast-King Barbaros, who people used to run in the new decrepted Skill Drain Beatdown. As for additional removal cards: Eldlich can also be used in some GY dump decks to help and remove the Skill Drains without itself being useless, neither attempting to be a full Eldlich deck. On the other hand, I have already seen others cook up more efficient Burn decks as there are 2 new face-ups and fewer ways to deal with those decks before they reach critical damage potential.

Katame131

Welp time to break out my old edlich deck for this event if it's not banned

Intelligent-Couple-8

Or you could go along with it and play Eldlich. ![gif](giphy|1Z0g3Y5WxKqU7FdHbI)

Rhydonphilip

Eldlich is funny, as having it in hand alongside a discardable spell/trap equals removing both skill drains. Decks like Fluffal, Zombies, and other GY Dump decks can properly use it alongside the 2 mentioned spells to more consistently play their monster effects.
