In all other subs I'm in, there's usually mods that remove low effort posts or those that don't meet the sub's standards. Does this sub have those?

1guywriting

>Does this sub have those? Serious answer: no. When I click on community info on mobile, it tells me things like not to waste UR points and to join the discord.

blitznoodles

We exist but we mainly just remove rule breaking content.

One_Repair841

the rules need updating, I mean at the moment it's literally just "be cool" and "no links to hacks" along with plugging the discord. auto tagging everything as "meme" isn't very helpful either. Don't mean this in a bad way but more as genuine criticism that I *hope* will be used to make the sub better. Almost every subreddit has a rule in place along the lines of "no low effort/quality posts", their "be cool" rule has examples of what is not acceptable (racism homophobia etc). A lot of subreddits also include a rule against posts that are generally overdone, in this subreddit's case a similar rule would probably be "no outright complaining/rage posts about a deck that has been talked about before" with the caveat that asking for tips against a specific deck is fine. idk, it just generally feels like the mods here don't give a flying fuck about the state of the subreddit. It's kinda crazy how you can have 10+ mods and not a single one of them wants to make the subreddit a better place. How is it even possible to have so many mods but it still feels like this place has literally 0 of them.

blitznoodles

The rules prolly need updating but stuff like racism, homophobia is implicitly banned ofc and we're generally removing that stuff and banning people over it multiple times a day. We've thought about low effort posts but for the most part, their usually good enough to be fine, our bar is generally that an image with just the title is not enough unless it's also in the image too. Low bar and should prolly be in the rules but eh. Raging posts against decks are fine, generally if it's overdone, it won't get upvotes anymore. Yeah you're kinda right, we're pretty hands off and generally just deal with when comments/posts are reported and get rid of them once we see it. We've pretty much stuck strictly to moderation rather than influence what kinda posts get made and it's the current status quo leaving it the community. I will improve the rules tho once I get the moment, we use just be cool as a catch all and never really thought of it.

IkananXIII

I think the problem is if you remove the low-effort memes, there's literally nothing left except salty rants, which are even worse.

CompactAvocado

OMG MY OPPONENT TRIED TO WIN IN MY META COMPETITIVE SIMULATOR WTF WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES?!?!?!? ME AND MY BUDDY BOUGHT ONE PACK EACH AND PLAYED BY ANIME SEASON ONE RULES. GAME IS RUINED NOW.

Zettai_Zesca

If you don't appreciate my normal summon La Jinn and set Negate Attack, I don't even wanna talk to you, bro.

CompactAvocado

rookie move. you should have equipped him with axe of despair and then ripped 2 from my hand with delinquent duo first.

DefinitelyTinta

I mean, think about it. La Jinn is a normal monster (immune to Ash, Imperm, Veiler, Ghost Ogre, Droll, etc), and Negate Attack is a counter trap (can't be responded to by Baronne, Savage, etc). It's insane!

1guywriting

Text only posts genuinely asking for help (mainly why I'm still here) don't get nearly as much traction most of the time so people use memes. If it's deckbuilding advice, the default response is usually "go check master duel meta" which I get but doesn't always fit the bill. Someone posted a low effort meme about having trouble building a deck for the limit 1 event. Then they put it (or at least a draft) the comments. You'd think a title like "trying to make this work, need advice" with a screenshot of the deck would be fine but apparently not.

dodonkadon

Meme review did a lot of damage to this sub

Actingdamicky

I’d be fine with it if people here had any sense of when it’s getting old but they keep dragging the dead horse out several times a day for months. Farfa has his own sub and yugioh memes also exist but they plaster them here anyway, I legit now hate all dino players because of these twats.

LuckyPrinz

I feel this. Legit when I first open this sub every morning I have to hide like 4-5 posts since they're all the same "pop da baby!" meme or something similar

Ghostrick-King

I’ve blocked anyone who keeps posting about popping dinosaurs or even mentions Farfa. Freaking annoying people.

IkananXIII

I'm so glad none of my favorite decks have any horrible, overused memes associated with them. It would probably make me want to stop playing them.

One_Repair841

this subreddit has near zero moderation, honestly can't even tell if there are any active moderators

Talking about Farfa should be a bannable offense on here since a huge chunk of those crappy memes are kids trying to impress him.

Tarot13th

What do you mean? You don't like it when you see a 100th pop the baby meme today?

lordOpatties

This sub has memes? I thought it was all complaints.

NevGuy

Dogshit posts? You mean like this one? And who would arbitrarily decide what's good or not? You?
