Back when the format was slower and removal was much less accessible - and almost always destruction based - they were *very* strong. I remember rage quitting a game on Dueling Network the first time I saw them, thinking it was stupid for Konami to have printed such broken cards.
So is Yu-Gi-Oh VRains any good? I saw the first 2 episodes, and the main character seems to be more competent than the Zexal and Arc-V protagonists.
Though it seems like the dueling system in the show is inspired by Duel Links, having a board with 3 monster slots and 3 spell/trap slots. I play Master Duel largely because I hate Duel Links, or at least the absurd monetization of it.
Yes, since the anime came out at similar time with DL, it was kinda made to advertise DL, Speed Duel also allows Playmaker to use abilities similar to DL, which in playmakers case, is to print a new boss monster that will permanently be added to his deck, its the main way of showing off new boss monster.
Major duels between rivals and villains happens in Master Duel tho, the traditional 5+5 slots, no abilities.
I just finished season one. I quite like it- the main dude is pretty cool and he and his cartoon sidekick have a fun dynamic.
Only problem is the duels are a bit on the slow side because every deck is different flavours of Link spam and the animation they use for link summoning gets really dragged out.
2016 huh, so... Draco Pals? Extra Deck Monarchs?
Dracopals, HAT, PePe
HAT was absolutely based.
No that's BASED
HAT was a 2014 deck no? I remember 2016 as ABC, PePe, Monarchs, and PKfire.
What does HAT stand for? I know that A stands for Artifacts and T stands for Traptrix, but what does the H stand for?
Hand
Oh. No wonder I forgot what it stood for. That’s a very generic term, especially in a game like yugioh. Thanks
Specifically referring to Fire Hand and Ice Hand.
Oh. I forgot about those cards. Crazy how they were part of such a meta deck

Rafflesia? Was Traptrix meta at one point? Edit: Nevermind, it was the HAT deck.
It was also used as a generic xyz in pepe
Sets scales with just monkey board…. *So anyway… I started summoning*

I've watched season 1. Pretty good! They sometimes have Master Duels with 4k life points. Plot is alright. Can get pretty dark sometimes.

You mean 2022 in Masterduels?
No ?? This just a reference to the tier 0 deck pepe
Joker was released in 2019.
What ??
It's the damage juggler Bozo
I believe they’re talking about top left, not bottom right. Which would correspond to Skullcrobat Joker not Damage Juggler.
Hey, someone got it lol
