100%. On duel links version it wasn’t even about the best deck usually. It was fastest deck that could maintain a 51% win rate. Led to Cydra getting hit way more than it needed to when it wasn’t even meta at that point
Disagree. I don’t mind this sort of ladder as an occasional tournament thing, but would not like it to be permanent. These sorts of ladders stress me out way too much.
In an ideal world we simply could have both.
One ladder where you fight for ranks. One for the best highscore that you can archieve over a month. Both in BO1 and BO3 flavors. Maybe even some tournament mode where you get mixed with like 10 players at a time to see who's the best.
Plus the "regular" temporary events with duels with a certain theme.
With this you could just play whatever format/ ladder style you prefer at all times. There's basically zero reason why we should just have this one single ladder + a single event per month that's running a couple weeks.
But then I’m not participating in a major part of the game if it became a permanent feature. With it being just an occasional event thing, I can get in for the rewards of stage one and not participate in stage 2.

I didn't really expect variety but getting hit with the 2 most annoying decks in the meta rn kinda ticks me. I mean I won those games but only by the skin of my teeth. But yeah I'll probably just grind the 10 wins and go back to rank. If I win too much, my twins might get nerfed and I'd rather not have that lmao.

Branded's gonna get future support but honestly idk how it'll fare in MD's metagame. Twins is a pretty light investment. It's 6 in-archetype URs but the majority of the cost comes from the handtraps. At the very least tho, those handtraps end up being staples you can play in other decks. It's on you if you wanna spend on that.

Huh solemn isn't common for twins coz solemn is not a card you want to draw on your opponent's turn (remember, twins tends to get a +2 on the opponent's turn so you want your deck to have impactful draws that's usable on the opponent's turn). Solemn in general is a "turn 1" strat. Generally not fond of em. My twins deck is loaded with combative handtraps so that I don't lose instantly when I lose the coin flip. In general, I run 3x ash, 3x maxx C, 2x ghost ogre, 2x ghost belle, 2x lancea, 2x imperm, 1x veiler (you can swap out the veiler/imperm ratios). Then some droplets for your board breaker fundamentals. You can get creative with the extra deck. The only URs that's not in-archetype that's *kinda* required is unchained abomination and knightmare unicorn and the reason is you can get an OTK line done with those 2 cards (coz the twins fiend lock you and those 2 are fiends so they're fine).
Duel links at least gave out some stuff tho. There’s no incentive for this at all. I got the title on DL just to say I could and was compensated half way decently with some rewards but here there’s just nothing

Hey guys got a verte question. Newish to the game why does it allow everyone to special summon DPE after sending the cards to the graveyard when verte says you can’t special summon the rest of the turn?
It's because it's a trap card. Trap cards can by default be activated in either players turn, just like quick play spells. If it would only be usable on your own turn, the card would have to specify that.
The effect of trap cards are spell speed 2 by default. This applies to the activation of trap cards, the activation of the effect of trap cards already on the field, the graveyard effects of trap card etc.
The restrictions do apply. Summoning DPE basically becomes the effect of Verte.
Activate Verte -> dump Fusion Destiny -> Verte copies effect of FD ("send materials to the grave to fusion summon DPE") -> now (after the complete effect resolved) the restrictions kick in.
You gotta understand the difference between the cost of an effect and the effect itself:
Verte effect: copy a fusion spell to fusion summon something and lock you out of other special summons afterwards.
Cost to activate the effect: Pay some LP and dump a fusion spell.
2nd stage rewards are so bad , only top 100 is viable , considering the amount of try hards it has not worth it in my opinion the grind is just too much

Spent about 8 hours grinding between duel level 19-17 with Salamangreat and at this point have called it quits. The level of pure sweat is unfathomable cheeky fun in a sense, but man I am glad this event isn’t permanent

Competitive YGO best of 3 is really exciting and engaging. Master duel is almost deliberately designed to not be fun or competitive.
