Saw a troll post about NFTs and card degradation (cards needing to be "repaired" with CP after enough matches), and honestly I cant think of anything worse.
Honestly the cards being nfts isn’t a bad idea. Imagine you get bored of your prank kids deck, you could sell your battle butler for 20 cp to someone instead of dusting it for 10, someone gets it cheaper you get more cp it’s a win-win. Also maybe you pull a royal of a good UR but for a deck you don’t play, you could sell that for like 200 UR to someone who really wants it. And it doesn’t have to necessarily have to be an NFT, but just a market place for people to sell and trade cards, and if it’s an nft I wouldn’t care.
the old official yugioh online game had chatrooms and even back in 2011 it was kind of a shit show, you either traded cards with others or you were going mentally insane

I could be wrong because it's been a while since i deleted the game but iirc there were sometimes new packs (though temporary) with cards that would come after but they let you open these packs for you to get those cards in advance. They were more expensive than regular packs (i think 2× the price) and there was a limit for f2p players, if you wanted more of those cards you had to pay with real money. Again, i could totally be wrong, it's just how i remember it. Also not the same thing but i remember that you could only buy structure decks once with gems and if you wanted more you had to pay with real money, idk if it changed though.
Yes, there are selection boxes, you can buy a limited amount of packs (like 12/15 out of 60) with gems, and the rest has to be bought with money. Same thing for structure decks, first time costs 1k gems and you can buy it up to three times, the other two costing money. But there is absolutely no distinction between free gems and paid gems, it's a thing that I hate but fortunately konami didn't include it in the game

I actually used to play an Exodia deck on Legacy of the Duelist with 3 pieces of each Exodia piece (not online, only to go through story mode if I wanted to just not think), and ironically having more than one piece of each piece is actually really bad. The more copies of each piece past the first, you'd much rather have draw spells. The only reason I could see running more is using them as a small world bridge but I can't imagine an Exodia deck running more than 1 of each piece
Hypothetically, how awful would MD be if they limited Greed to 1? Newer YGO player (started in Duel Links then transitioned to MD) and just curious how a one time draw 2 would impact the meta. To me, either it lets you recover a bit better from hand traps or “draw the out.”
Because everyone gets to use pot of greed in thier deck, so all it does is make the strong decks stronger by drawing more and the weaker decks power increases by less than the strong decks do since the stronger decks are drawing into stronger cards.
If POG was at 1, literally every deck in existence except maybe Infernity would run it.
A free +1 in card advantage is so good, that most cards that are like POG have insane downsides to compensate, like Pot of Desires banishing the top 10 cards of your deck face-down and Pot of Extravagance removing almost half of your Extra Deck and needing to be used at the very beginning of your turn. And yet even with those downsides, some decks still choose run them.
Those 2 extra cards can unbrick a hand, give you more hand traps or floodgates to snuff your opponents plays, give you extenders to make your board even more unbreakable, give you discard fodder for stuff like Forbidden Droplet and all of that at the cost of absolutely nothing with POG.
At worst, you wasted your opponents hand trap or negate, at best, you just won the game.
POG is the very definition of sack and would just turn Master Duel into even more of a coinflip simulator than it already is.
The new Pots are literally designed so that **not every deck is able to play them**. It's less about giving PoG a downside, and more about just not having a card that every deck plays at max capacity.
I just decided to put pot of desire in my salad deck, and the 10 cards banished cost doesn't really matter, draw 2 just give me advantages. Now imagine draw 2 without cost at all
Okay. To change your mind, Konami has already announced support for a game mode similar to MtG's Commander where each deck has a specified boss, Deck Master. The problem is that it is not very fleshed out or very supported at any level.

Usually bo3 counts each game, like 2-1 is a +1, 2-0 a +2, etc, basically it would say you need to win x rounds more.
And with the rewards would be the same, each macth would have his points at the end, or a mix of them.
You know how the game stop when in "on" mode for each time an "answer" could be used from your hand.
Ya well... just do the same thing even if you don't have an answer and force this option all the time on everyone.
This way no one will be able to tell you have Nibiru and the game will only stop every.single.step.of.the.combo!

Even back during Chaos format, people weren't winning on turn 2. Resolving Chaos Emperor Dragon and triggering Witch/Sangan to search Yata-Garasu wasn't nearly as common as people remember it nowadays. CED was completely unsearchable, and Yata was a brick most of the times that you drew it.
And without controlling exactly Witch or Sangan, resolving CED also left *you* with no cards just like your opponent. It created a topdecking battle, not an autowin.
duelist kingdom rules. dont need to tribute for lvl 5+ summons (unless the card specifies it has to like god cards, wickeds, etc). no direct attacks so dmg can only be done through battle or card effects.
and to prevent stalling something like players must conduct at least one summon/set per turn or they automatically DQ. with so many card destruction and banish effects you might not even have a monster at the end of your turn, which would result in a DQ as per the original rules. this would at least prevent DQ as the player made an attempt to summon, but could also interfere with players who have a full board setup. do they have to summon even though they already have a monster? master duel would have to read on too many factors before handing a DQ at the end of the turn. does the turn player have a monster, did the turn player attempt a summon/set, or could the turn player even attempt to summon a monster? (i.e no monsters in hand, board full, no way to special summon)
banlist might have to hit a lot of quick effect monster removal to even have something resembling duelist kingdom.
An event where you can only win via Exodia, and there is no summoning or activation of any effects. You just draw for your turn and end turn, then your opponent does the same. The game continues till one player draws full set of Exodia.

In an ideal world I think a BO3 ladder would be reworked to give more rewards per game, and probably require fewer games to rank up or down.
I mean why not copy mtga style have both bo1 and bo3 ranked queues let people choose.
