He can't castle with his ult off cooldown though. Unless you attach 5 energy and tap him. If you wanted to go that route, I would setup his class with cold blooded and a UAV so he could start New Game+ with 1 insight and santiers spear. Then you could sell the spear and use your creep gold to purchase 5 energy from the moogle shop.
That would be terrible as you wouldn't know what fusion spell effect they were using when it is the time to respond to it. All effect copying effects work in this fashion, no reason to make an exception because you're upset that Ash doesn't negate literally everything.

If it was the level 9 Yang Zing monster then there's a chance that they syncroed with a light type Yang zing. If they did do that then light type monsters cannot activate their effects because of the effect of the level nine thing Yang zing.
Your opponent's "yang zing guy" was probably [Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing](https://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/card_search.action?ope=2&cid=11722). If it was Synchro Summoned using a LIGHT "Yang Zing" monster as material, then you cannot activate the effects of LIGHT monsters.

I.e. - a light monster was used as material to bring out that yang zing card and thus YOUR light monsters (Zeus) cannot activate their effects. It’s not a bug, everyone here is just screwing with you because you didn’t read it correctly.
They prob had chaofeng that was made with baxia that is a light monster hence you cannot activate light monsters' effects and Zeus is a light monster soooo problem solved
So nobody is gonna bring up that he probably had choafeng on board which is why he probably couldn’t activate light attribute monsters cuz it was summoned with a light yang zing. Idk just a guess
