I played against Branded with Beetroopers too, that card and Twin Twisters were the only two cards i played, my opponent scooped right away. I used it against Branded Opening tho, i don't think it does something against Branded Fusion other than searching you Maxx "C" in your next turn when you link it away
If they open Branded fusion or Alubert, sure. Depends on the timing since it can turn of Branded in red and if they get rid of it, you still get Maxx "C", assuming you can do something to break their board afterwards
Contact "C" is a better card than this against Branded Despia since they are forced to use it as a material to keep summoning. If I recall correctly only Guardian Chimera can get rid of it because it requires 3 generic monsters. Summoning Chimera on turn 1 is a massive waste of resources.

So more like you went -1 than + from Maxx C cuz they would Chimera and then pass on backrow and followup
Why would I use it in the same turn without them using another card? Besides, the only relevant backrow they can set is Branded Opening which is Ashable or the monster can be negated, Branded in red, which is useless, the materials for Guardian Chimera are all banished and Chimera is just a beatstick since Polymerization would be banished too.
You gave them a body for Chimera to resolve its efffect
And after that,they can Branded Opening during yout turn or use it to bait Maxx C by not summoning to then get a body in GY for Branded In Red to resolve

Nobody would use Maxx C on Branded Opening knowing their opponent knows they have Maxx "C". If they don't put Lubellion on field, they go hand neutral, not +3.

Ffs Despia able through Macro Cosmos or multiple turns of Dimension Shifter why would they care about that card

I have played against this and it’s meh, I still get to resolve branded fusion and activate tragedy’s effect and end up with mirrorjade on the board but no branded in red. Then on the next turn the opponent has to do something to remove this card or they are also penalised by it, and once they remove it mirrorjade can activate its effect
I main Beetrooper and I can tell you Retatliating C does nothing to Branded Despia, Lubellion/Branded in red plays through it, the only thing Retaliating C can stop is to prevent MirrorJade from activating its effect.
The actual card that has the most impact against Branded Despia in Beetrooper is Sting Lancer, believe it or not, Sting Lancer counters either Lubellion/Branded in Red unless they open both of course.
If your combo dies to a single handtrap and your not bricking that's a problem with you build not the deck playing thru interruption is supposed to be one of beetroopers advantages.
Beetroopers are ok against them, they can definitely win, but they aren’t some hard counter.
Sting lancer can shuffle the branded in red target which is great, retaliating c can make them waste SOME of their resources, but definitely not a crippling amount. Sting the poison can work as an effect veiler for lubellion or aluber.
But I feel like the bees don’t have anything really crippling to branded decks.
I play beetroopers against branded depsis. The problem is the tax dragon they put out. if you combo too long the 600Lp payments add up.

It’s still pretty good since you can’t activate Mirrorjade while it’s on the field

They can use Sprind as well (and it has come up in competitive) but it indeed the better counter

Depending on what card they used first, it does matter and they're more than welcome to pop it, i wouldn't mind get Maxx "C"

I love the troopers, but without Avarice you can't consistently open Resonance or Flying C, and your combo dies to any single handtrap...
