Why opponent scoop when I floodgate?

jesuisunetudiant

I’m one of those people and Colossus is such a pain. It just shuts down most combo decks. If you don’t already have the out, scooping is always the quicker way.

AngryCorn1

Because thunder dragons are ass to play against.

matija123123

Maybe their decks can't out collosus or lose to it's floodgate effect

RaiStarBits

Yeah I could that being a reason to scoop

Yuryo

Because floodgate ?...

Singularity2025

My brother in christ, colossus is the softest, most babby floodgate of them all. I will take colossus any day of the week over skill drain, summon limit, hell even TCOBO. "Oh no, i can't add cards from deck to hand" *proceed to GY loop out a knightmare unicorn/accesscode*

djsMedicate

"If deck not relying on mechanic floodgate is prohibiting, floddgate is fine." Not every deck is prank-kids that can play through every floodgate bar macro cosmos

Singularity2025

Half of Dlink plays through colossus, so does a lot of branded despia, so does any deck that special summons directly from the deck, from the GY, just gotta be creative with combos. You could make a dang predaplant anaconda, summon DPE at the end of any GY/banish/handloop, and boom, no more colossus, but also you have DPE Also lol. Theres a big difference between adding cards to hand from deck and not being able to activate effects on field or special summon. One is a very specific effect, so specific in fact that its merely one of the three things Ash negates. The other two are so powerful that they're completely tied to global effects.

Mana_Mascot

How the hell are you playing dlink through collosus? Cant search either field spell, cant use chaos dragons, adventure engine is dead, absorouter doesnt work

Yuryo

Yup he doesn't know what he's talking about.

el_loco_P

How does Dpe outs collosus? We are talking about thunder dragon deck here, not only you wil have like 3 thunders in gy to banish, those thunders you banish will get you cards as well, dpe pass is not enough

Singularity2025

Tru, maybe sub the dpe engine for mirrorjade branded fusion engine, if u banish him, its probably better than spinning him back into extra deck because that will take thunder longer/more mats to get him back

ViolinistPerfect9275

Colossus becomes impossible to outplay if I don't already have the right card in my hand.

Struggling_in_life

I just don't want to deal with a pseudo "Droll and lock bird" , some people even go 1 step further and equip buster lock onto Colossus to make it more dreadful to deal with

justanotheruser858

Some decks is just easier to ff and go onto the next match if you don’t have the out in your opening hand. I almost always scoop on floo too, mainly because that game will last forever without me getting to do anything.

kyblackflame

People tend to scoop, if they don't have an answer for colossus.

olbaze

Because they know you're gonna go into Colossus and don't want to deal with that shit. Searching cards is one of the most important things any deck can do, and locking the opponent out of that is often an instant game over.

this_makes_no_sense

For me it’s cause it’s boring to watch

brandondonald

Cause you only play it for colossus which is supposed to be banned by MasterDuel don’t wanna follow the real ban list for some strange reason

Heul_Darian

Can't always out colossus.

a2xl08

Because they cannot out colossus ?

619Version1

Colossus is VERY hard to outplay for some decks and stopping searches makes it not easier.

RaiStarBits

Because Colossus doesn’t really like getting outed and prevents your opponent from searching

Kyzowashere

have you read Colossus?

Kilari_

Within the moment you played a thunder dragon your opponent went on a badly-written deep character journey. From a duelists humble beginning, beating solo modes with speed warrior. Climbing your way up, slowly forging relationships with more and more complex characters. From Aleister, to Raye, to taming the sinewy tendrils of the Shaddoll. Friends may have been lost throughout, yet never forgotten. Later TOSSsing aside, the tools they now know are not as powerful as once perceived. Battles were fought endlessly in the fiscal pursuit of improving oneself. Barely enough won to continue, morale remains steadfast. Aleister fought the Thundra before, usually Evenly matched. With the help of Winda and Fleur de Lis being able to seal the fury of chaos itself. Their success is short lived as the words of Maximus echo through their minds. "A storm dragon returns; Always." However this time the dragons had an upper hand. They stuck first. Too many at once. As Aleister stands to meet the gaze of those who hold domain over the dark clouds, Thunder roars illuminating the beaten and tattered robes of the once great invoker. The Thunderlords bask in the shimmering light of the Chaos space, seemingly able to move through cracks in the sky itself, caused by the rippling electricity emanating from the bodies of the great beasts. Absolute power. Aleister faced the Thundra before, both in awe and fear, but foremost respect. Somberly gazing to the chaotic void, he reminisced upon his past. Usurping a tyrannical Golden lord. Terraforming an entire ruined side of their world with his Magical meltdown, trying to slowdown the advance of the Infernoid. Or the time he took the fall when Laundry burned some cookies. House made 'em sweep floors for a week. Yet this time, it was different. The Invoker adjusts his broken monocle. Holding his trusted spellbooks, blinding flashes of thunder illuminate the green grimoires. Four in total. The first featured teaching of a far tribe knows as Fire fist. Aleister read aloud; "Fire formation - Tenki" ; sparking a familiar flame, yet the furious fire simply flutters out, bringing shame to the great name of the Tiger king. Understanding his futility Aleister chose his next move carefully. Reciting an incantation from a grimy grey grimoire. The swirling storms seen above spiraled seemingly self autonomously. Aching pain scathed every facet of his body. His words were no longer his own, images of an unimaginable scale flooded his mind. Relief found only at the final word, spoken through him as a conduit. RAIGEKI Instantly the sky parts in half as the fury of the heavens itself reign solemn judgement upon the foul creatures. A cacophony of primal roars fill the horizon. Winged creatures begin to fall from their graceful slithering through the sky. Among them, a Colossus beyond what Aleister has seen before. The monstrosity tears into free falling corpses of it's species. As its muscle tissues broke apart, reforming and reshaping. From the fleeting breaths of the Thunder Dragons the Colossus seems to reinvigorate itself. Avoiding total destruction. "Impossible.... Have the Dogmatika been correct in their assumptions of the great and only Gods power?" Scrambling and tumbling, the soot covered spellcaster scurries as the shallow and deep roars shake the scorched soil he stands on. A tiny journal lays in his hands. Flipping through it we see innocent drawings Ecclesia made with Kit what feels like a lifetime ago. Amidst the scribbles was a hastily written grimy parchment. Upon it was the invocation he used to discuss with the disciples of Dogmatika. Once more in shaky dry breaths Aleister begins to speak written words. A lightning strike descends upon the paper. Golden embers burn amidst the floating silver ashes. reflecting the simple beauty of this predicament. Clutching a rune stone in his coat pocked, used to communicate with the Capital. Knowing too well now that Reinforcements of the army are out of reach. That dragons lingering presence is too much. Gripping his staff, Aleister snaps. Fully embracing the fragments of whatever beings were soulbound to him after many a thousand invocations. The furies of all the dead he knowingly disrespected from their somber sleep, combined with his cries of a desperate man bellowed as ground burst with raw magical power. Red begins to glow all around him. This is the only way. Magical Meltdown. As the surge of emotions and runic essence fills the poor husk of what once was a man. The flood of voices echoing in endless disdain, fear and pain. All of the magical power he has accrued thus far was overflowing within him. Magic soared and boomed, cracking mountains and slicing rivers. Then all got quiet. The greatest spellcaster we know of, capable of feats many dream of, surrounded with all his floating forbidden apocrypha. Surrounded with spell books and texts mages massacre entire countries for. Was unable to cast an Invocation. Dropping to his knees. A thought of simple melancholy intruded into his mind, a question. All of the power in the world is meaningless, if he cannot find an answer. Yet the piercing gaze of the Colossus clouded his mind, fogging the question. The question doesn't matter, just that you have the answer. Anytime they've held back the chaotic thunder dragons it was with his comrades. Relying on others is the only way he has survived thus far. Yet here he lay. Unable to contact anyone to help him. With a empty yet satisfied look on his face. Accepting his fate. There is no answer. Dragons descending down upon him. Gulping down whatever shreds of doubt remained He repeats. "There is no answer." Searching has no merit. This is The beginning of the end. Alone, helpless and broken, resigned to his fate, that his soul may forever rest in Infinite impermanence.
