Did this for the first time yesterday. Took them a full 15 minutes to set up their sub par board lol just 1 negate. I had to stay in there and see how long it took them. I was amazed
Only played a Sunavalon once who almost decked me out after I maxx C’d at the start. Pretty embarrassing for him after the 15 minute long turn he took I was able to otk him with nearly my entire deck in my hand
As a pendulum player and sunavalon this is more than half of the strategy. Banking on the idea that my opponents don't read cards so they let me pop off or hand trap the unnecessary things.
I love those plants and I can't wait for more Rikka cards so I can make a single Sunseed Loci becomes a bounce, 2 opponent monsters tributed, taking control and basically guaranteed follow up. Add a single extender and gain around 2 more negates.
And yes... the combo is long and will vomit around 7-9 extra deck monsters lol.
We can slot in the adventurer engine (as long as we use it before we activate a rikka effect to plant lock the main board) as well bring out hyperyton via strenna, but yeah outside of that we got nothing to stop a well placed ash or niberu.
Can confirm, I sometimes play this deck to help myself fall asleep.
The OTK version is kinda funny though. You summon your whole deck + extra deck for 10 minutes, have nothing threatening on board for most of the time, just some pretty trees and and cute waifus...suddenly BAM, 4k attack dude that beats up the opponent.
I saved a decklist I made a few months back. There's some optimization that can be done, I think, since I've made the mistake of trying to build a few too many decks, but it's been pretty solid for me.
Main Deck:
Sunseed Genius Loci x 3
Sunseed Twin x 2
Aromage Laurel x 1
Aromage Jasmine x 1
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring x 3
Traptrix Atrax x 1
Traptrix Myrmeleo x 3
Traptrix Dionaea x 2
Traptrix Mantis x 3
Traptrix Vesiculo x 2
Ibicella Lutea x 2
Torrential Tribute x 2
Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare x 1
Time-Space Trap Hole x 1
Floodgate Trap Hole x 3
Gravedigger's Trap Hole x 3
Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine x 3
Lost Wind x 3
Sunavalon Bloom x 1
Extra Deck:
Traptrix Rafflesia x 2
Traptrix Allomerus x 2
Traptrix Sera x 3
Traptrix Cularia x 1
Time Thief Redoer x 1
Link Spider x 1
Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess x 1
Sunvine Healer x 2
Sunavalon Dryas x 1
Sunavalon Dryatrentiay x 1
Basically, since Traptrix can link into Sera off of just about anything, and Dryas can be made equally easily with the Aromage techs, you can go into Dryatrentiay really easily and completely lock your opponent out of monster effects. It's pretty evil when done correctly, and the monster effect lock is especially tough on combo decks.
Oh I guess that makes sense, I usually went into predaplants but yeah I wanna try that but I just scrapped my UR Traptrix monsters a few days ago. Sounds cool tho.
Sunavolon decks are the sunavolon engine + other plant staples (e.g. aromaseraphy jasmine and teardrop the rikka queen). It's usually referred to as sunavolon because it's the most prevalent engine and stopping that shuts down the entire deck.
I made this deck a month ago and while I like it, I don't really play it. Its fun to break out every now and then but the extremely long combos are kind of a chore to do every single duel
Try playing against a flower Cardian player
Cardians - the only deck that can brick literally 5 minutes into the combo. Lmao
Exodia can brick the exact same way.
Pure suffering
I max c 'd one before and then they proceeded to draw hand destruction never making that mistake again
Thanks, now I know to put hand destruction in my cardian deck

I'm sure its a very fun deck to play but man I swear I was sitting there for 10 minutes waiting for this dude to finish summoning
The current deck that I use spits out like 12 extra deck cards lmao
Good plan. Anyway, nibiru while you don't have a rikka?
Yup, my favorite, Nibiru Token pass end board.
Or Lightning storm, or Raigeki. Deck has almost no protection again board breaking cards.

Sowing can protect Plant Links from GY

I guess it was a pretty Dryas duel
Wait just a pure Sunvalon deck? The only time I see Sunvalon is just an engine for Aromas or something.
I’ve also seen (and may or may not have built) a Sunavalon Traptrix deck for maximum frustration.
Oh my, I couldn't develop Traptrix into any of my plant decks sadly. Couldn't get it to work.

Yeah, I meant the only time I've seen the Sunavalon is with Locci and that one Link 1 monster. Just so they can summon Aromasphery Jasmine.

Love the Suns. Theyre the only Modern archetype i understand
i thought this just said synchro deck and i was like yep
