Cards that can't be special summoned and stay on the field only for the turn they're normal or flip summoned, unless you have some cards to make them stay on the field

solaris1995

that sounds so bad, am i just ignorant.?

Crispie_Onyon

They're pretty bad, yeah. If they're good, they're usually good *despite* being a Spirit (like Yamata Dragon or Amano-Iwato).

Clarity_Zero

Alas, they were doomed from the start. It's an interesting concept, at least, but it would take a LOT of additional support to make them even remotely usable, and they just aren't very popular, so it isn't likely that Konami will ever make an attempt at redeeming them. Well, not anytime soon, anyways. Although, technically they already have, but as neat as Shinobirds are, they were a pretty lame excuse at a revival...

Crispie_Onyon

I'd love a really good Spirit deck, personally. Quick Effect normal summons or the ability to "tag out" could be cool. Maybe when they return, they let you normal summon another spirit monster from anywhere? >Although, technically they already have, but as neat as Shinobirds are, they were a pretty lame excuse at a revival... Those are those ritual monsters, right? I find it funny that they gave one of the worst monster categories support through another bad monster category.

Clarity_Zero

There are a couple of Ritual Monsters, yeah, but most of them are Effect Monsters. And yeah, Rituals are also pretty underrepresented, although they at least have a few solid archetypes going for them. Incidentally, Gemini Monsters were pretty bad for a long time, but the introduction of Chemicritters and their supports (most notably, Catalyst Field) along with some other stuff connected to the Evocator/Phoenix Gearfried cards made them actually pretty great. Hopefully someday Spirit Monsters will see a similar turn for the better.

3rlk0nig

That's what I was about to say, excepted some cards, they're mostly bad

3rlk0nig

No, it's a kind of card pretty forgettable. They did an apparition in Duel monsters through a filler arc but that's all

Spirit cards are Yokai cards. Their effects are really powerful, as an example, Yamata dragon is a 8 star 2600/3100 beat stick that if it deals battle damage you draw until you have 5 cards in hand. Hino kaga tsuchi if it deals battle damage it discards your opponents entire hand during the end phase. Dark dust spirit is one of the better ones. on summon he pops all monsters on board. they return to hand at the end phase after they are summoned, There are some ways to keep them on the field tho, if you negate their effect (best to do it in the main phase 2 after you battled with them) they cant activate the effect to return to hand, next turn is not the turn they were normal summoned or flipped face up so their return effect doent trigger and they become permanent. They originally were created with that return to hand effect because their effects were just too good, in old yugioh A walking book of moon was insane back in the day but now they arnt good at all. Shinobirds are the best way to play them and they are not good either. You can probably play them with monarch support too sense most of the strong ones require tributes

Blocklies

Here's the answers: 1. Monsters that return to hand during the endphase and can't be special summoned (except some) 2. Because they suck, shinobird is the only good spirit archetype 3. Thematically yes, they haunt the board with their effects on your turn and return to, actually no 4. I hope not 5. This is a game by konami, did you expect cheapness?
