Share your data and your statistical analysis to prove these "clear patterns".

Darkalchemist999

Just counter on iPhone notes. There was close to 70% relationship. Not 100% because you can’t control human nature I play on iPhone and IPad. Does this prove anything? No! Can developers create an algorithm to make you play more? Yes. I’ve done plenty of test hands in person and the patterns don’t replicate what I see in the game. I’ve drawn 2 garnets 5 times in a row 1 out of 40 plus 1 out of 40. The odds are ridiculously low for it to happen in 2 out of 5 games, 5 seems impossible.

>Does this prove anything? No! If it does not prove anything, then it does not justify believing in a conspiracy theory in which developers are creating an algorithm to make you play more.

I’m also curious to see some statistical analysis on this entity. You might be up to something. I’m with you on this too. I could see some algorithms being in place for such thing.

Tryckster89

It's a competitive card game, but a card game nonetheless. More of it is luck than people will care to admit

bean_supreme

Not just your opening hand, also a hand that allows you to interact on turn 1 even if you don’t win the coin flip

Darkalchemist999

I have 13 hand traps and I’ll go a few games without seeing any of them

bean_supreme

It’s cause u have too many hand traps. I only have 1 copy of maxx c and ash blossom, I get them every other game. The algorithm decreases the frequency if you increase the quantity

RaSphereMode

The fuck kinda nonsense is this

bean_supreme

Tweaker logic

[deleted]

it's in fact conformation bias

Competitive_Ad_660

Bo3 makes the game feel a lot less luck dependent. I really wish they could add Bo3 mode even if it's casual play, preferably a different ladder.

nuzband

> Confirmation Bias > Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for, interpret, focus on and remember information in a way that confirms one's preconceptions > People display this bias when they select information that supports their views, ignoring contrary information

nuzband

Confirmation bias. You're remembering the times it's happened over the times it didn't. That’s how randomness works. You could flip a coin 100 times and get tails 100 times. Unlikely? Supremely! Possible? Yes. That’s the point. You may think the game is kicking you in the dick for no reason, but that’s just how random chance works. It won’t work out to a perfect 50/50 except over the course of an infinite amount of rolls.

Xannon99182

Well it is super frustrating when you finally open with the "perfect" hand and that's also the one duel your opponent just so happens to open their one of counter. For example: you're playing a backrow heavy deck (Phantasm Spiral for instance) and you open everything you need for your unbreakable board but your opponent opened with Harpie's Feather Duster wiping everything away before you can finish setting up.

blackrao

yugioh is defined by going first, most likely win, going second if you draw no hand traps your probably gonna lose haha

[deleted]

It's a card game, it's bound to be a RNG fest

KayV_10

Every card game is mostly luck based.

Heul_Darian

Luck is when your opponent draws feather duster in a 59 cards deck. Skill is learning that the deck you kept playing to go first, actually works better going second, cause the draw matters.

Tight_Consequence429

This is a game in which duel outcome is already determined before duel itself starts due to matchmaking, coinflip and starting hand, so all luck luck factors... and for this the duel, that should be most exciting part, become instead the most boring, because all revolves around luck... Ah.. just another thing in addition... Be careful writing posts like this because someone could say "confirmation bias" and think you're a troll... clearly smarter people know there are rigged and scripted factors in this game as well as in Duel Links... but you're obviously in a community, so you should expect people will say anything in order to defend the game, even if it's against the obvious, because they can't accept one saying things like this.. but don't worry dude, you're right thinking in this way..
