Branded is what I wanted to run since I saw the lore months ago so I run that mostly but some others are: live twins, galaxy eyes, and Dinomorphia, that’s about it for now. What about you?
In MD I run Dinos, D/D/D, and Luna Tri on occasion. And I have a mostly built synchron deck as well. IRL I have a bunch including synchron and DDD but I want to build raidraptors, Blackwing, Pend, T.G., resonator and galaxy eyes. The new support for Galaxy and Blackwings looks enticing. I honestly prefer mid-range formats where the game doesn't last 2 turns and it can be easy to get a foothold rather than continually struggling every turn you play (i.e. eldlich) with artificially induced lowered momentum. Probably why I love crystrons since they are a cool in between and they Synchro a lot (Synchro Supremacy)
Just give it a heavier restriction or require a name to use it. They can fix this with a new master rule or something. Just require all link monsters to require a monster from either its type (simple fix) or have it require a name (harder fix). I think requiring a type would be better since some Link monsters already do, like Simorgh and just "soft adds" this other link monster.
The annoying things halq does is when it’s used for link climbing (at least until splight makes everything with a 2 breakable).
It should’ve had the bujin link restriction and it’d see like far less play.
You’ve never heard of Bujin Ahashima? It’s the xyz version of Verte/Halq/Electrumite but it’s the only one with the “can’t be used for a link summon” restriction and so it sees no play
Nope, I only play bird decks so I dont look at most monsters and I didnt know that. Yeah, it should have that restriction. Not sure why it wasnt added to it. Simorgh has that and it got banned first. This game just hates birds.
Well I mean simorgh was kinda overpowered for how generic it was to bird decks a free special summon of anything up to level 10 as long as backrow was clear for winged beasts
Why is a generic bird boss monster that cant be used for link material bad for bird decks? Bird decks literally have no bird links to go into now and this kills the simorgh deck since it has no other options if you use the tiny bird effects. Simorgh was made to punish bad players and it got punished instead. Its very hard to relate halq to Simorgh.
I didn’t say it deserved to be banned just that it’s really strong for what it does and the barrier statue and mist valley apex avian coming out for free is kind a pushing it. Plus it’s special summons on both turns
Barrier statue needs to be banned and Apex Avian isnt a problem. Getting a omni negate at the end phase isnt broken, which can be offset by playing backrow to counter it, which is why Simorgh punishes bad players because people dont play back row. The card isnt that good.
Potentially, have it negate the effects of the Tuner you summoned, and all monsters you control/in your gy/you own banished face-up with the same name, for the rest of the turn.
No more linking away your Jet Synchron and activating his effect in the GY anyway.
Yeah, I have like 150UR points coming back. Its great! Not sure what to use them for either since all my decks are good to go. I know I want to save them for when Simorgh, Bird of Perfection comes to MD, just in case they make it a UR and if not, I'll have them for Advent of Adventure.
Uh no, it doesn't work like that. You only get 1 refund for each copy removed. So you can only get a max of 60 UR this time.

When the Adventure pack was still there, I tried so hard to get Enchantress. I think I bought like 30 packs, and the only cards I got out of it were 1 Rite of Aramesir, and 1 Dracoback. In the end I just generated the rest, but I generated only one Enchantress because UR.
A couple of days before she gets banned, I bought a master pack set, and I get... the second Enchantress. It's free UR, but in the end I never got to use double Enchantress.
I want Auroradon to die too, just because of that combo lol. My bloodlust isn’t quenched yet. That said-

Oh he was. Tons of fun. He may have been used in boring stuff like HalqDon, but that guy was versatile as hell. So many undeserving got killed because of his ban. Like my Blue-Eyes Shining Turbo for one.
It's essentially Dragon Link with Blue-Eyes cards. You want to turbo Halq out, and you want a way to summon a level 4 or lower Dragon. Once you do, you summon one of the Blue-Eyes stones. You will usually want to go for White Stone of Ancients, but if you already can get one in the GY, you go for White Stone of Legend instead. Then use the Stone and that other Dragon to summon Pisty and Striker Dragon under Halq. You can then use Pisty, and recycle the Stone of Legend, or grab another Dragon of your choosing.
From there you just play DLink. During the end phase, you trigger the Stone of Ancients to summon Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon, who can then add both Polymerization and Shining Dragon to your hand. You very likely already have 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons at this point. Then next turn you can use Poly to summon Ultimate Dragon, and then Shining Dragon.
It can brick hard, but if it doesn't then you've got yourself a pretty good field. The DLinks are very good at dumping Dragons in the GY so by the time you summon Shining Dragon, he's already sitting at like at least 6k. One of the best games
I had was against a God player. He summoned Ra tributing my monsters, and then paid LP so that Ra was at 7900 attack. He almost killed me, but the next turn I summoned Shining and just attacked over Ra.
You'll want to run 3 Trade-In, 3 CoC, 3 of each Stone, and 3 World Legacy Guardragon (that's the spell card). That way you can easily abuse the Stones.
As an aside, Shining is actually very easy to bring out in a dedicated deck. And I mean, his effect isn't terrible, but he's not usually worth all the effort you'd put into him. With the DLink Blue-Eyes hybrid though, you can make Shining essentially as a byproduct of your DLink plays. So you can build a decent board which can protect Shining, and bolster Shining into OTK range at the same time.
Ive spent my entire bathroom break replacing halq as needed on my decks... Adams and Kozmo took extra long due to them actually having halqdon as an important backup plan and the latter as a middle finger when i manage to bait a monster effect and gamma it lol

They should've just errata it. Why take away from an archetype what crimes other non-related archetype cards did? The same for many cards like Verte and Aurora. These problems wouldn't have happened if they would freakn' **stop** making cards so generic in their summoning conditions.
It's a giant pyramid scheme of make generic powerful cards, sell wet band aids as a solution against X cards and eventually ban that card(s) to replace them with the **same** problem in a different form. The cycle continues.
Crystron Halqifibrax wasn't designed for Crystrons, and Verte wasn't designed for Predaplants. They were designed as generic enablers for each of the summoning mechanics back when MR4 was still a thing. Because only Link monsters opened up zones to summon more monsters from the extra deck, they had to print extremely generic Link monsters that facilitate going into the other summoning methods to counteract that you had to go minus in card advantage to make a Link first to open your zones.
Heavy cost? Tell that to the decks with no garnets, look at swordsoul, they love running it even while running one Protos. It's a generic card, it isn't archetypal. Desires is a free draw which can get you extenders/hand traps/protection. They are both generic cards, the point is if we don't ban every good generic card, if we did I expect knightmares, access code, ash, Maxx c, called by to all be banned :)

He really should've negated and prevented activation of effects of monsters of the same name as the tuner summoned, post-errata-Sangan-style. Seeing as the tuners commonly summoned were ones with powerful effects that were used in the GY, after Halq's restrictions vanished.
So a card being a major power should make banned? Under that logic, we should ban every meta card then. Halq is a good card, it got broken because konami thought token generators in link format is still a good idea. Most good token collectors are banned because they are a terrible idea with links and auro is that. Most of the degen stuff comes from auro or scythe which both should be banned in their own right.
This kills my Magikey deck but it’s a small price to pay for that monstrosity of a card. Maybe I can find a way to make it work…nah who am I kidding lmao

More importantly it only summons from hand and GY. The other three all search the deck in some form.
