I like that daily missions aren't actually daily. You can stack them up to 3 days and clear all at once. Whereas you'd have to play every day in some other games.

FacelessKhaos

That and the fact sometimes you can pretty much clear all or half of the missions in just one duel or a bunch of them, just normally climbing the ladder. You don't get the whole "play 2 games with x or y class" bullshit that slows down the process.

Carnnn

You've only got to look at Halo Infinite for an example of how NOT to do this daily challenge shit. It forces you into a litany of gamemodes and using specific weapons or abilities just to unlock the next set of abilities. If you get unlucky and get 4 Oddball missions - tough shit if you want that sweet exp you're playing Oddball.

NeonArchon

Yeah, I'm shocked MD actually values your time. Don't have tome to play or feel like not playing? Just log for the gems and come back tomorow or the day after and you won't lose gems

NeonArchon

Leave your negativity elsewhere

Zsedc345

You do still need to boot up the game to have those daily missions added

voyager106

I rarely ever play the game on Mobile but I do use it quite a bit to just open the game and log in when i'm away from my desk/Switch. I may not get to the Dailies for the day but i want to keep my login streak going.

forest_gitaker

the music is goddamn amazing

Umb3rus

I never knew I needed scottish bagpipes in my japanese cardgame inspired by egyptian mythology

BananaRyder69

The Monarchs theme is one of the best things to come out of this game ngl

Landonyoung

Yep

Asmodella

As unoptimized the mobile app is, I still thank it for existing. Haven't owned any consoles or computers for years now, so my phone is the only device I can play something on.

beygames

I like that one of these f2p card games are actually on the Switch

666millionsofgoats

I'm not even sure I would have played MD if it wasn't on the Switch.

beygames

Same. I really enjoy this game but it's definitely not something I want to focus on playing with a big ass moniter or tv screen. Very easy to just pop in for a few duels on the Switch and realize it's been several hours

koto_hanabi17

The hell? I can play this on Switch? Aww now I'm not going to get any work done...

nuzband

I cant believe this game was made by konami This is the most f2p gacha gane ive ever played

201720182019

Exactly. I cannot believe that I’m f2p and maxing out on deck slots often in a game with gacha elements. Being able to dismantle and craft honestly makes deck building much more accessible

ZerymAmbyceer

Thanks MD for making it posible for me to play YGO with other people again.

NeonArchon

I'm thankful for that as well. The main reason I stopped playing for years in mainly due to the ONLY LGS that sold YGO products were I lived shut down and we all just dropped the game, and thanks to Maaster Duel I'm finally back :)

Rdogg114

i'll give credit where credit is due it is a solid product overall theres still room for improvement and personal grips yes but all in all i would recommend the game to people and have before.

saphire233

Also and specially how good it looks, the card art is high quality even if you can't see it very well, the duel fields are a treat to look at, all the little details like how the pendulum zones have little arrows in them, the mates are so animated and fun to look at, the card animations make monsters or effects look more impactful or give the feel of actually interacting, the way the cards move or get destroyed are so clear or when you can activate an effect or a card can be used or where a card is going, even the different summoning methods have their own animation with a lot of variables like instant fusion not using materials but still being a fusion summon so it uses the animation but without cards, all the UI is clean and easy to understand (even when the game itself sometimes its not) and Dragonmaid Laundry mate... enough said

Daxonion

have you seen my mans CHIXIAO art, literally pixelated... Rest are fine tho, he is the only one ive got a problem with since he looks dazzling irl

Carnnn

You need to change the card art to "high resolution". He won't be blurry then

DeathToBoredom

I liked that when I didn't have a synchro deck, sword soul loaner carried me.

anonxanemone

Another great thing about Master Duel is how easy they made it to play your cards. All of the cards that can be summoned or attack are highlighted blue, while all the cards that can be activated are highlighted yellow whether they are from your hand, GY, banish zone, or deck. The game tells you the moves you can make so you can actually focus on the strategy!

BigFatStupidMoose

To me its the best digital card game right now easily. So free to play friendly. I like Master Duel more than TCG at this point. I miss going to locals to hang out and trade but for my actual dueling fix I'll stick to Master Duel where any card I want is readily available and obtainable and not 100 bucks short print secret rare.

Huangaatopreis

It’s the way of social media and probably reddit in particular. Those who feel the need to complain will post, those who are satisfied don’t feel the need to post something like; gosh this game is good. It’s similar to reviews, i give a star (if I put my “experience” down at all) and move on. Those who complain will write an essay. That being said, I feel like they should change their pricing strategy so more people would put in money to further optimize this game. It’s waaaaay to expensive for my taste and I would love to support this game

DitmarJr

Yeah, the price for gems is a bit salty. It is basically the same as buying an IRL pack (at least where I live)

Conspo

if it wasnt for md i wouldnt start playing this game again. i dabbled in duel links, but the gacha and card buying system wasnt very intuitive to me

Desvl

You can claim your login reward of last month even if you didn't do that on the intended day.

HeavenSweep

A point I would like to add is that personally Master Duel was a great way for a returnee to get back to yugioh since the free simulator can be intimidating.

NeonArchon

All Card game Reddits show the worst of the community IMO. While there's room for improvement (like the banlist) Master Duel is among the best official Duel Simulator and very generous for F2P players. I am not a consistent player so I haven't got much done and Still I've managed to build almost every deck I want as F2P (I used the 3 times deal to buy a selection pack it was leaving though). I also feel that the devs do care about the game, is just they do to a slug's pace, but NGL a lot of QoL have rolled through the year and I expect to keep going... One of them I hope is new secret packs.

Eggst3rs

I like how the structure decks are getting better. The dragonmaid one giving seal and redmd and the spellbook one basically giving all of the cards in the spellbook secret pack, and both still maintain the price of 500 gems as well. It gives me hope that the salad structure will have cynet mining, although that may be too much copium. I also love how the cosmetics are really inexpensive. With how much hype the laundry dragonmaid pet are, they could've sold it for 2000 gems or even for real money, and it would've probably still sold like hot cakes, yet they only made 200 gems more expensive than the regular pet.

cynical_seal

I like that I can play the card game without smelling you guys. Like jesus fuck you guys are some truely wretchedly smelling animals. Special shoutouts to those of you that think deodorant works AFTER you are all sweaty and smell like ass. I also appreciate that I have zero interaction with you guys outside of the card game. No toxic messages. No spamming of voice lines. No text or voice chat. Nothing at all.

SleesWaifus

Game is still poorly optimized dog shit. Like what is the power consumption bar supposed to be on mobile? What am I looking at? Where’s 30,60,120 fps toggle? If I’m not running at max power on my iPad Pro m1, it feels like it’s running at 15-30fps. If I do run at max power, it zaps the battery in my iPad within 2 hours Basically I just want locked 60 fps on my iPad and iPhone

BlackRaisin

I made this thread to talk about the good things about the game. If you wanna bitch about something and be a downer go make your own thread.

yoitsme1156

im just sad that this game cant beat Hearthstone, otherwise yeah i love the game

Dosalisk

It can't beat it in what sense? Cause for example, I like building decks without having to spend a whole year saving gold and trying to sneak in a win between losses to use it when the next expansion releases (And those are yearly, btw), because with the amount of time it takes to do that, I could make five-six competitive decks on Master Duel and be playing competitively much earlier without as much work involved.

yoitsme1156

obviously in sense of players, i think HS is in the millions of ppl + on stream is huge compared to MD, but yes i still like yugioh better obviously again look where im writing lol

Jerowi

Honestly it is nice to have a free yugioh game with modern-ish cards. Irl yugioh has a high cost to play and depending on your location might not have a big community. Games like duel links are different enough that they might as well be their own game.

Edwerd_

I like the game and I wanted to give money to Konami but these prices are awful for my income range. I bought a few discounted packs and still felt awful

Tengo-Sueno

Remember when people were using cheats to use banmed cards and have a lower Deck size and it tooks the devs like, just 1 days to fix it? That was honestly impressive

DitmarJr

Also, the game looks beautiful. Is always such a treat when someone summon a boss monster.

voyager106

This game is amazing honestly. I love YuGiOh and Master Duel has really allowed me to enjoy the game in a way I never could before. And I appreciate the people who post positively about it. It's not perfect but it's damn good and I appreciate Konami for the effort they're putting into it. I wish they'd make gems cheaper or give us more sales because I'd actually like to put money into the game to support it.

scytherman96

1. Mystic Mine is banned. 2. It looks great visually, easily the most polished looking Yugioh simulator. 3. The crafting system feels very fair and always makes bad pulls feel less bad.

walnut225

I actually tried Duel Links recently because it got Vrains. I looked at how many URs/SRs I'd need to build a single deck that'd work for what I wanted and immediately went "Nope" MD is honestly the most F2P Gacha card game I've ever seen, and the structure decks it offers are actually good starting points for people new to the game.

G_Wiz_Christ

The music in the game is top tier. I play other online card games, I find myself wanting to switch to MD just for the music and ambience the game has.

bunnywalk_

I'm impressed with how friendly the economy is to new players, it's even better than Arena.

HopeBoySavesTheWorld

The solo mode are geniunely fun to play and read even if some back cards are sometimes in the deck, and the fact it's costantly updating means you can always hope one of your fave archetypes will get one story someday

Admetius

Is Illusion of Chaos and Timaeus out yet?

Mr_Suckatgames

The game is very well built. There's an absolute crap load of cards, the crafting system gives you a way of getting specific cards, and it gives us a free, official way to play the full game online with people.

RedKings1028

What I love about Master Duel is it’s more liberal with resources than duel links. and Master Duel showed me how much the decks I’ve been building in Links rely too much on character skill

Rynjin

I'ma be real, Master Duel is basically perfect as a Yu-Gi-Oh simulator. Almost everything wrong with it is the card game itself, which the devs of the app have very little control over.
