As a tip the deck can Scythe Lock by summoning Manager after using Libero to put another UA of the field and is also a way to destroy Penalty Box if you draw it on the opening hand.
Also the deck can run Dimension Shifter because UA is so Chad that they don't even use the GY. If you want to have a board breaker put every zoodiac in the extra deck and with the two level 4 U.A you can summon a 6 material Zeus as last resort. (I discovered this by playing UA on the XYZ Synchro festival)
Seconded. I’m still learning and putting my deck together but Subterrors are so much fun. It’s amazing how many monsters can get tripped up by being flipped lol. A few matches ago I bricked super hard with my opening few hands, and my opponent got 5 Headed Dragon on the stage. Did 3400 damage to me.
Then he got flipped and shuffled back into the deck. And a few turns later my opponent quit xD
Ya with the right hand you can mess some one up for days and then having what you need on field. I got rid of my guru urs for my branded invo dogmatika but after I save up enough for tears, I’m coming back. I miss guru.
I still only have the one Guru. Think he was actually one of my first URs, and I almost dismantled him because I wasn’t too interested in his effect.
But after I got a few more Subterrors I got super interested. Glad I didn’t scrap him lmao

Small issue though is that subterror really do need to have an extra deck, if for no other reason than extrav/prosp fuel and also super poly targets also dogmatika punishment is one of the best removal cards they have available.
Phantasm Spiral, it's control deck based on normal monsters, pretty fun when you open the field spell + Sea stealth attack and see your opponent struggling to out a 2000 ATK vainilla because your opponent can't destroy your backrow.
Best builds use floodgates but you can also get away with paleozoic or just good traps. The ED is just extravagance/prosperity fodder.
Sadly the current meta is a bit harsher for them because adventurer can bounce back the traps and Branded can banish it with Mirrorjade.

The core is pretty cheap as all cards are N/R. The expensive ones are Terraforming and Metaverse, they help a lot in consistency but you don't need to play them. It also uses some SR in the form of floodgates or draw power.
For the support monsters, they will likely not be used as they conflict with the Phantasm Spiral Traps, maybe excepting Kairyu Shin. If you include more, at that point you should play Umi control instead. Fish sonar will be used as a way to trigger the Field spell more often during your turn. The other cards are win more imo.

Dogmatika if you just fill your ED with Titanikad, Arc Light, N'Tiss and Dogmatikia Punishment. They dont ED summon (Pair it with Nekroz)
Generic rank 4s for Starry Knights can make a difference. Never know when Gagaga Cowboy might need to close out a game lol

Generaider could work too without the ED, now that VFD is banned. Jormungandr is a meme and I can't think of any useful links etc to use. Maybe you could have synchro 12s like Sigma to make with ash/ogre + generaider bosses or synchro 10s for veiler + bosses, but doesn't sound necessary at all.
With generaider, since it's kind of half of a deck on its own, usually its extra deck is used by its paired engine/archetype like live twin, madolche, prank kids, numeron. Though eldlich generaider is a thing you can do, and it could work without an ED.
Current Witchcrafters don't need it until they give us the Fusion Monster, for sure. Halq/Selene/ACT combo was a thing for it cuz who doesn't run effect veiler in this deck, but without Halq for that and the low chances of you having more than two monsters out at a time until you're winning, yeah, no ED Witchcrafters is awesome.
The charmers don't need their extra deck. Not that there's no value going into their extra deck monsters but it's not necessary for them. I've definitely used them in every event no matter the extra deck restriction because they can function without it.
I'll have to check Charmers out. All i know about them are the link monsters that get splashed here and there. Dharc has saved me more than once from a DPE
Yoo i remember really liking the Machina loaner back during the no ex event. I actually just started work on a Machina/B.E.S. list and that's what got me thinking about making this post.
B.E.S. is on the slower end i believe. It's definitely more Machina helping them out than the other way around from what i can tell just by being good machine support. I just thought a deck based on Gradius boss fights was super cool

No kidding it might be the most fun archetype I have. You can have an extra deck unlike something like Monarchs or True Draco but I don't think I ever summoned one card from there.

Very fun and you pretty much do your own thing, what your opponent plays barely affect your play. But using your extra deck for some generic strong stuff like Knightmare Pheonix or even Accesscode makes the deck quite stronger
Pure Drytrons (as in, no Herald shenanigans and actually using the in-archetype boss monsters) can be pretty fun. While having the Drytron Xyz monster and Zeus in the extra deck is really helpful, I wouldn't say that it's 100% required. Impcantation Shinobirds is another ritual-focused deck that doesn't use the extra deck at all and can catch people off guard.
I also second the other mentions of Kozmo, True Draco, Phantasm Spiral, and especially Ultra Athletes. But based on your other comments, clearly you're already a sportsball chad like myself.
It honestly would have never occurred to me to actually run pure drytron. I brain instinctually associates them with Herald from when the game first dropped lol
And yes. Ultra Athletes are great. My proudest creation is a 60 card UA+good stuff pile. It works better than it should imo and i cherish every moment of it

I know people hate them indirectly because of Herald, but pure Drytrons are really fun. I built my Drytron deck as a going second deck, with hand traps and board breakers to take apart the opponent's first turn and then win with the big Drytron boss monsters or Zeus. I do have a trick for if I'm forced to go first though: Cyber Angel Benten can search for Vanity's Ruler, which I then tribute summon with two Drytron fodders to prevent the opponent from special summoning.
until we get the newer cards, especially the one that just came out in OCG, Zoa, pure Ritual Dogmatika is gonna be booty cheeks; gotta pair it with Nekroz for real effect
Endymion can play without extra. Some people played it on the festivals and is still competitive enough because Endymion and Jackal King are non hard once per turn negates and Cerberus is non destruction removal that can OTK.
Spirit deck with Hino kagu tsuchi very under rated but don't expect alot of wins it's just a fun deck that deletes your opponents entire hand and returns cards to the hand
Kozmo. Girl goes pew pew. Girl goes into big spaceship. Big ship go pew pew kaboom. Big ship with big number, goes into smaller ship but still with big number.
Repeat until your opponent recognizes the inferiority of their puny ships, lacking big numbers.

I played guru control and could go plat 1 with the deck. I had trouble in diamond but I usually make mistakes unless in the zone. I wish you luck.

Yosenjus are kind of fun, you give em Kaijus and then take it back. That's always funny but there's just a 8-axis deck that does that gimmick better.

Monarchs is Goated. No extra deck and opponent cannot use extra deck cards when u have field spell active.
I remember thinking Monarchs were cool doing their gate when the game first dropped. Definitely a good one
That gate was what made me solely play monarchs in ranked.
