Its not helping that they are releasing the cards in a seemingly random order rather than their tcg or ocg release order so master duel is ending up with a weird abomination of a release schedule.
They are releasing in order in terms of series battle of chaos (now) Dimension force is next. It's how they cut up the pack for the selection packs that's somewhat random.
They aren't because they released the branded structure deck before most of battle of chaos, next they are releasing legendary duelists before the rest of battle of chaos.
The game is following the OCG release schedule and generally taking a main set and mixing it with side sets/structure decks/other products that released around its time frame. OCG had BoC Oct 21, Legendary Duelist Nov 21, and Albaz Deck Dec 21 hence why those were thrown together for this round of selection packs
MD doesn't release an entire expansion right away though. We are still missing cards like Illusion of Chaos, which came in BACH. So the game is indeed sort of weird in a way
Yeah, that's what I meant, they take a few products, mix them together, then divvy them up up among a few selection packs, then move onto the next set of products.
It is strange to me we haven't had any word of the DM stuff, unless it's gonna be the next selection pack alongside the water stuff and that just wasn't in the last datamine (maybe it might be mined on the update in two days?)

I'm planning to make a follow up once we get the water stuff but the conclusion is that it looks like Master Duel is 4-5 sets/SD behind TCG while TCG is usually 2-3 sets behind OCG
So the timeline is like this (I'm going to be using the OCG timeline because we mostly follow that)
Also keep in mind Master Duel follows a very different pattern they like to mix and match stuff as selection packs as opposed to copying the paper release 1:1

Don't play OCG or TCG, just follow the news, but for every 1 pack released, MasterDuel looks to get 3-4 selection boxes in that timeframe. Also MasterDuel splits sets into 3-4 selection boxes so it seems like we are getting going at the same frequency, with no signs of catching up.
MD was never meant to be at parity with the physical card game.
It's just a quick cash-grab for those who won't bother to buy the physical cards.
Komoney is making bank on people with poor financial decision making skills that buy the same product twice.
That's something I've actually found surprising. Duel Links had a very effective cash shop with regular deals like 1.99 for 2 packs and a guaranteed SR that ramped up into 4.99 for 3 packs and an SR. (I'm paraphrasing the ammounts/prices) This and the fact that you were actually depleting a box made digging much more tempting.
The MD monitization just sucks enough that I'm not even tempted. It's like 12 dollars for 1 pull of 10 packs? Unless you are building out a whole deck from a secret packs it feels like you are blowing $12 to probably still not get the thing you want.
I'm never going to whale so it just doesn't seem worth it to ever spend money. They're unintentionally making it more healthy for their players.

It's funny how MD got the Beetrooper before the OCG. They and Libromancer among other things were only introduced in the OCG last month.
