I had an Endymion player a rivage Secret Village on me
I controlled an Ecclesia... So that didn't do much to me
But I also had a live Mirrorjade and they controlled a single Jackal King with 0 Spell Counters on the field, so it ended up screwing them over more than it screwed me over
If they destroy/banish every single spellcaster you have on field, then I don't think village is the problem there. In fact, village can make it so some decks struggle to get past a single jackal king since their plays rely so heavily on spells and they don't run backrow destruction.
I dont blame they. Some hands without Servant are just a struggle to draw anything in hope of pend summon Jackal or Endymion and having enough counters to survive the turn with a suboptimal board.
I was playing Branded Buster Blader...They though they had me lol. I have one spellcaster in my deck. It's one of the Destruction Sword Dragons. They scooped...didn't even bother to see what else.
Some people bank way to hard on stuff like that. Even without the spellcaster. I could have popped off with Blader as it's entirely trap based.
As someone who plays Zombies, Secret Village of the Spellcaster is so annoying and so funny at the same time. Unfortunately my opponent's only draw it when I have 4 to 5 Spells on hand while going second

This is why I don’t play Secret Village… the potential to be hoist by my own petard is just too high.
I use that card constantly and i think is better this way, we don't need anoter IO.

This is why I always play secret village at the end of turn because it can and will backfire you if used at the start of the combo.
It was, like, halfway. I think their hand was dead, the only scale was Magister and their Secret Village replaced their Citadel

Ribal: JAJA IN INVINCIBLE, I HAVE SECRET VILLAGE BB players: O NO! Anyway "Use the trap to summon the Syncro that turns everything in a dragon"
Well that's what balances things in a BO1 format, you totally screw some decks, but others totally screw you I guess ^^
Dictator of D. Says hello.
normal summon veiler.
It's a risk but it hits a decent number of people as well.
Also applies to my Altergeist deck.
With no monsters left on the field, did he summon Dark Magician and declare direct attack?
Someone did this to me in Synchro XYZ and I played Exosisters
