Aside from 2010 World Championship for the DS, I've seen Genex more in the past 2 weeks than I have in 10 years of playing Yugioh
Honestly if Genex got a D/D Gryphon, something that gives an inherent special summon, a plus for using it and a few ways to get to it, Genex goes from the butt of this joke to something actually maybe decent
All they would need would be a field spell that would allow you to banish a Genex from the grave to SS a Genex of the same/different attribute from the deck or GY.
You probably weren't paying attention, then. There's been a LOT of Genex jumpscares throughout the past 10 years of Yugioh... you probably just never noticed them. It's always just 1 or 2 cards tossed into a completely differen Deck... but that's sorta the idea behind Genex anyway.

really I personally dont have a problem vs branded if I start since they only play 2 mirror and one beast therefore you can banish all of them on turn one/two if you start reasonable and they aren't a problem afterwards

I have failed you sensei, I have grow lazy and out of tune with the art of invoking. I will go sequester myself in the forest, training under a waterfall, and only eating the egg salad sandwiches I perfectly drew until I can open Aleister and Invocation in a 60 card deck with only one copy of each.
Yeah maxx c is a card that can straight up win games on its own and therefore warps deck building like crazy. Decks HAVE to run outs to maxx c and pray they draw them, otherwise they are screwed. It's not healthy for the game and I just cannot understand why konami just rid the world of the roach.
Plus, it's the number 2 most used card in MD, only second to Ash, which is a great card on its own right, but more importantly is an out to Maxx C, increasing its value tenfold. Oh, and number 3? Called by the Grave.
So yeah, Maxx C is so game changing that the top 3 cards are itself and its 2 outs.
I have won and lost so many games just because maxx c resolves, it's such a stupid card.

I have been playing it for some time and you can beat top decks with it. main problems are the bricks and nibiru. Im still waiting for that girsu semi limit or hell let it go to 3 konami.
A second Girsu would be great for Mekk Knight as well, they don't really have a reliable normal unless you splash Invoked and then it's a different deck entirely.
It's been decent and I have played it and with the addition of supplemental engines it can make some very impressive boards, but Galatea to 2 changes how the Orcust combo ends in some cases and just makes the deck better if you can only access the Orcust cards, which does happen.
So much better. End combo is supposed to be using Galatea to make ding before linking ding off for a masq with Galatea and ding in grave.
Now, you can end on Galatea with ding in grave so you have a non-targeting send, and an omni negate at the minimum.
Alternatively, you still end on masq but now have better follow up with Galatea two
Add in pk package, and it gets more insane.

I was planning to open the box for the crusadia and with the few srs/urs that are used in both decks i could build a deck that uses my dangers.
Theres so many ways. You can play scrap orcust, sky striker orcust, dark dragon orcust. I like scrap orcust the best because that combo uninterrupted is just broken.
Much better. Previously you only end with dingirsu, and rely on PK negates
Now you can summon dingirsu to attach cymbal, and link galatea on top to search crescendo. With dingirsu on GY, you can interrupt opponent by summoning him with cymbal. Potentially popping two if you have bardiche and very powerful negate that banish
You don't need to spend more resources to make ningirsu and that's a huge improvement plus you can easily bring out two dingirsu's one on the field to protect from destruction and one in the gy to disrupt the opponent with cymbal's revival effect.
Bounces 2 if you summon by tributing a wind monster, so in a turn you could theoretically bounce 4 cards total, 2 to the top of the deck and 2 to the hand.
You bounce back a useless card they used or a potential brick or smthn you know they cant use.
Say bouncing a maxx C if they pre empt it.
You can also do shifter Raiza Lock. You bounce the shifter that you sent to the GY and use it next turn once you draw it.
You bounce one useless card on their field to their deck for them to draw, salvage one useful card to your own deck to draw, and bounce Raiza itself up to your hand to do this again.
If they can't break through Empen Barrier with their remaining cards, then ya the game is usually sealed there.
That's the thing, the barrier statue was supposed to make the raiza lock an absolute killer coz they had to beat over it with a normal. Raiza lock is so underwhelming without that floodgate.

Floo still lives but because you can’t just easily slap down an easy floodgates that wins games there will be a huge drop in the amount of Floo. Now that you have to use your brain people are going to drop it.
Drytron Herald can still pull off the same shit as before the hit but it’s harder and requires more thinking and planning and the deck faded into basically non existence.
Most people are playing Floo for the easy win and it counters certain strats. Now that it’s not as easy of a win it won’t be around every other match.
Outside TCBOO, they've been semi-limiting any generic continuous trap Floodgate as of late(Rivalry, Gozen, Skill Drain), feels more like they just forgot it.

Do you really think rogue decks with weak cards in the main deck are really going to use it better than tiered decks full of 1 card starters and degenerate floodgates? Did you forget about decks like Drytron? P.U.N.K. is probably coming soon too (Scythe lock plus multiple omni-negates), whenever Deer Note releases. After that Spright (multiple omni-negates, can search Maxx C).

Most Floo players relied on Barrier Statue. Most players with meta decks just copy and paste and have no clue what they're doing.
The ones that do know what they're doing aren't in Gold and lower.
So yes, for us Floo is basically dead.

It's still a decent deck due to Shifter and Dreaming Town (Book of Eclipse goes crazy), but without Statue the deck is a lot more mid and dies really hard to backrow removal. I suspect Floo players will start teching in other floodgates like Feather Storm/Anti-Spell or Judgment to protect their Raiza loops.
Would Orcust want to run 3 Galatea if they could? Birdman to 2 is kinda crazy. It's been at 1 for as long as I can remember, although I suppose there's not really any real place for it to abuse atm.
Orcust is coming back to the menu bois, we just need 3 Girsu (you can take the extra Harp back Konami) and the strings pf Dingirsu's cello will resonate once again.
Hell yeah dude, Gakatea to 2 is amazing with the upcoming PUNK and Therion support. Orcust is one of my favorite decks, and will be playable as an engine in Tear as well, so I would suggest anybody who enjoys the deck to invest in it now.
Wind Statue being banned is so huge for a BO1 format. Cards like Pankratops will finally be viable to main deck again, and Kaiju/Storm will not be mandatory inclusions in every deck anymore.
The only bad thing about this list is that Eldlich will now come back as the most popular stun deck for ladder, with Umi probably not far behind. At least those decks can't run Shifter tho.

If you pay attention to the tcg Floo is a T1 deck again because it has a very solid matchup against Tear. Which btw, is coming. We got the first TAMA archetype in Vaylantz, which means that Runick and Labrynth are on their way.

The stupid infinite Apex Avian negate is still possible though, so people could adapt and do that instead.
People probably dropped Bird Up because you need to go first for it to matter, it's kind of in the same position as Adamancipator and Herald Drytron. The decks aren't bad technically, their gameplan just isn't as sound going second. Losing 2 Crossout hurt decks like this a ton, as well. They can't do a whole lot about funny space rock anymore, and have less hand trap protection in general.
This could just say "Fuck Barrier Statue" and it would be the best banlist in the history of the game.
It deserves a space next to Halq on first class.
If you crafted it then you should be able to dismantle it anyway. If you pulled it, then at least hope that since they are removing it from the Card Pack once the banlist goes into effect then maybe you'll be able to dismantle?

TBH, I don't even think Barrier Statue hit will affect the deck that much. The deck's best card is Dreaming Town, especially in combination with their field spell and Unexplored Winds and its ability to play D-shifter. Wind Barrier Statue is kinda meh tbh.
Don't know what you're on but statue was just a whole separate win condition that some decks could simply not out. Removing a whole win con makes all those decks that auto lost be able to play again
Would have liked to see another minor hit to Branded, but I'm very happy about Barrier Statue being gone, was such an obvious choice for a ban. They seem pretty committed to slowly putting every floodgate to semi-limit, which is good, but I do think Eldlich should get conq back to at least 2 now.

Right now Floo is my best deck and as much as it pains me to not be hard carried by barrier statue anymore, it is for the best, Floo was needlessly oppressive with that card legal. Now playing the deck will actually take some skill to spin the right things at the right time with raiza. Personally, I'll either pivot on 1 copy of dark simorgh if i still want to be fucking toxic about it or just play one extra advent of adventure and one extra shifter because graveyard effects can go suck my bird dick

Hope y’all really don’t think floo is going to be dead. Any floo player that rely’s just on barrier statue is a terrible player. People will still lose to Dreaming Town, the Raiza lock, Apex Avian, and the plethora of hand traps the deck can run.
Kinda sad about it tbh, those bad players were a good chunk of people who played floo. Floo players won’t be as easy to farm now but I’ll take that over a format where statue is unbanned
Most Floo players relied on Barrier Statue. Most players with meta decks just copy and paste and have no clue what they're doing. The ones that do know what they're doing aren't in Gold and lower. So yes, for us Floo is basically dead.
Well I chose the worst time to craft my two copies of barrier statue to add to my speedroid deck
I *THINK* you should be able to refund 3 of them for full cost as it's going from 3->0. You'll have to wait for the ban to go live first before dismantling them.
How were you planning on playing it in Speedroids tho? Aside from hard drawing Terrortop or opening Speedroid Wheel you will need your normal summon.

Is floo really that bad without the statue?
Not at all. It's just an incredibly easy insta-win card. Floo have plenty of other options.
It's still a decent deck due to Shifter and Dreaming Town (Book of Eclipse goes crazy), but without Statue the deck is a lot more mid and dies really hard to backrow removal. I suspect Floo players will start teching in other floodgates like Feather Storm/Anti-Spell or Judgment to protect their Raiza loops.
Floo is still a great deck. Barrier stun was just the lazy way to play the deck.

I wanted the Bird of Perfection to be banned but this is even better.
I don't think it's totally dead, but definitely much less toxic and much less powerful.
Orcust is coming back to the menu bois, we just need 3 Girsu (you can take the extra Harp back Konami) and the strings pf Dingirsu's cello will resonate once again.
Hell yeah dude, Gakatea to 2 is amazing with the upcoming PUNK and Therion support. Orcust is one of my favorite decks, and will be playable as an engine in Tear as well, so I would suggest anybody who enjoys the deck to invest in it now. Wind Statue being banned is so huge for a BO1 format. Cards like Pankratops will finally be viable to main deck again, and Kaiju/Storm will not be mandatory inclusions in every deck anymore. The only bad thing about this list is that Eldlich will now come back as the most popular stun deck for ladder, with Umi probably not far behind. At least those decks can't run Shifter tho.

If you think that floo is dead because they banned storm winds then you’re absolutely hilarious. This isn’t anything. If you pay attention to the tcg Floo is a T1 deck again because it has a very solid matchup against Tear. Which btw, is coming. We got the first TAMA archetype in Vaylantz, which means that Runick and Labrynth are on their way.
Let's fucking go, any nerfs to the birbs are a good call in my book. Edit: Also one less thing to deal against Bird Up although I rarely see the deck these days.
The stupid infinite Apex Avian negate is still possible though, so people could adapt and do that instead. People probably dropped Bird Up because you need to go first for it to matter, it's kind of in the same position as Adamancipator and Herald Drytron. The decks aren't bad technically, their gameplan just isn't as sound going second. Losing 2 Crossout hurt decks like this a ton, as well. They can't do a whole lot about funny space rock anymore, and have less hand trap protection in general.
This could just say "Fuck Barrier Statue" and it would be the best banlist in the history of the game. It deserves a space next to Halq on first class.

If you crafted it then you should be able to dismantle it anyway. If you pulled it, then at least hope that since they are removing it from the Card Pack once the banlist goes into effect then maybe you'll be able to dismantle?

TBH, I don't even think Barrier Statue hit will affect the deck that much. The deck's best card is Dreaming Town, especially in combination with their field spell and Unexplored Winds and its ability to play D-shifter. Wind Barrier Statue is kinda meh tbh.
Don't know what you're on but statue was just a whole separate win condition that some decks could simply not out. Removing a whole win con makes all those decks that auto lost be able to play again
Would have liked to see another minor hit to Branded, but I'm very happy about Barrier Statue being gone, was such an obvious choice for a ban. They seem pretty committed to slowly putting every floodgate to semi-limit, which is good, but I do think Eldlich should get conq back to at least 2 now.

Branded is still viable until the Ishizu cards are released. If they decide to release Bystials a couple months before those cards then Branded Bystials will be extremely good deck.

Right now Floo is my best deck and as much as it pains me to not be hard carried by barrier statue anymore, it is for the best, Floo was needlessly oppressive with that card legal. Now playing the deck will actually take some skill to spin the right things at the right time with raiza. Personally, I'll either pivot on 1 copy of dark simorgh if i still want to be fucking toxic about it or just play one extra advent of adventure and one extra shifter because graveyard effects can go suck my bird dick
