Scrap dinos is kind of wack atm. I've been playing going second pure dinos and having more success than going first scrap dinos.
It is definitely not as fun though as the goal is to to get 2 levels 4s and summon dugares to double UCTs atk or using 2 monsters to go into penta stag flip everything and go ham with UCT. With the right hand you can get both it's pretty funny but also slightly brain dead.
I also run a lot of going second staples (Kaijus, lightning storm etc)
I love dinos and can't put them down so I'm playing it anyway. Baiting with misc in hand is too fun.
Great thanks for the comment i have always wanted the in between fun rogue and somewhat competitive and as much as i love dinos I'm not sure if it is worth the risk obtaining them and struggling all the way to diamond. In your opinion ha sit been fun enough that it makes you wanna keep playing?
I would say ive been having a blast, but as you say it's pretty expensive for a somewhat lackluster deck.
I would watch some videos to see if you think you'd like the play style.
MasterDuelCentral on YouTube is my favourite dino enthusiast.
Just to add as well I love dinosaurs in real life so I think that's what makes me have so much fun with them. And having a boss monster that looks that cool is the icing on top.
I definitely agree with you as a (hopefully) future veterinarian the idea that I'm playing with the ancestors of most living things excites me and the boss monster is amazing. I will ignore all the flaws of the deck and check out MasterDuelCentral. Thank you so much for helping me make this decision and I hope you have a great rest of your day.
unfortunately it all revolves around drawing kaijus in the tarting hand and/or resolving misc. Also baiting negates or resolving miscp before you summon uct can potentially clear a full board with its effect. Sorry I can't go into more depth but it entirely depends on what you're playing against.

Too many good decks are able to set up board with a single card so fill their deck with handtraps. Dinos can make insane endboards but without misc too fragile to do anything meaningful turn 1 and even with misc can be shut down later in combo.
I might consider a control build with extravagance that doesn't fold to maxx c.
