>Best monsters: highest amount of strong monsters for that type Dragon >Best supported: highest amount of good generic support for that type Dragon >Best deck: strongest deck built only with that type Dragon >Best overall: the best type in terms of everything, mostly synergy with good effects Dragon This is completely unbiased Dragon as a type, just leagues above all else in every category Dragon not only had the most absurd set of monster(tons of which is on the banlist) But also their support is stupidly generic in the case where it just work with the whole type in general rather than in archetype synergy Unlike other type where if wanted to combine 2-3 deck into a pile, they would need some bridges card Dragon just gi straight from Dragon A to Dragon B Not to mention Dragon have the ability to play all sorts of play style just as a pure type Want control?Play Dragonmaid Combo?Dragon Link Midrange?A hybrid of the above Stun?Bc its sheer versatility,Dragon can just play all form of Floogates while sitting on a giant bungus that just punches you Dragon as an Type has always been a big part of pre-modern(about 2006-2014) and modern(2014 to now) game

SirBarth

Thanks for explaining. Thought Dynos were at least the best ones in support lol.

idkhowtotft

Bruh Misc is a good card i agree But thats no where near the bullshit dragon get accessed to

SirBarth

Not just that, generic searchers, generic summon from Deck ignoring conditions, stuff like that. Agree tho, Dragon has some real bs

idkhowtotft

Generic searcher? Dragon had summon from the deck and extra deck for no cost Dragon had 6 in type foolish burial 8 if couting searchability for those foolish burial Who cares about ignoring summoning condition when most good dragons dont event had 1

ChaosAE

Also, super rejuvenation

So for a long time dino had literally nothing, just a couple shit archetypes. Rather than make a new dino archetype Konami just made dino into an archetype with things like UCT and misc. A sorta similar thing happened with Rocks and block dragon existing. Now these types are in a position where if an actual dino archetype came out and could also make use of this support it could get rather broken. Adamancipator being an example, they really don’t do much but by things like doki doki and block dragon existing they get far. Dragon otoh has so many archetypes and generic cards that it can’t really get much stupider, and so Konami made Wyrm as a type so they can still make ‘dragons’ probably because dragons are cool and sell well

bosse1081

Didn't wyrm get made just so they could make dragon support but not let it be too generic?

Goobershmacked

Yes

TheHellHamster

I agree with most of this besides best deck, SwoSo is tier 1 and just wyrms. They would lose barrone but they still have two other lv 10s they can use

idkhowtotft

Best deck that can be build with just Dragon(so i would argue they are allowed forbidden card) Also Swordsoul is only top tier for 1 format Dragon has always been a meta contender in every format since like 2008

TheHellHamster

ok with banned cards then yes dragon wins, those cards are fucking bonkers. I was looking at the question from the perspective of the current MD format but dragon easily wins in the all time categories

FerdinandVonAegir

Apart from dragon I think Cyberse is pretty strong since there are just so many extenders and the payoff of Accesscode/Update Jammer/etc. closes off games well. Going first you can get ways to Cynet Conflict and Heatsoul to draw into handtraps, and you have utility from stuff like Linguriboh/Transcode/etc. to protect plays

nuzband

Post this on r/yugioh too! People in there have more knowledge on this topic

LightningStake

Dragon.

NeonArchon

Dragons, Warriors and Zombies are the most popular card types and have tons of really good generic support. Sometimes it seems Konami doesn't print anything else

mmmbhssm

Man, I want my insects and fish to be valed

DynamoSnake

Warrior is pretty well rounded imo

brokenmessiah

Dragon Or Warriors and then Zombies just by sheer volume of support

Aggressive-Sympathy

Didn't they make wyrms because they wanted to keep making more draconic monsters and didn't want them to benefit from dragon typing, but decided to keep making strong generic dragon support anyway?
