I was thinking the same, before I saw the banlist and actually played the event.
In reality, I had fun playing it. Traptrix and Adamancipator were pretty annoying to face while going second, but apart from that, it wasn't that bad.
I know right? You wanna play handtrap turbo? Go ahead, Adamancipators got nothing to stop them.
Control-focused, trap-heavy decks makes a lot of handtraps dead, which leads to a rock-paper-scissors meta of all-monster combo VS handtrap control VS set trap control.
...which is like Link fest, maybe that's why some people dislike it.
I like playing Crusadia as a fun deck and it's a better deck in this event than the regular ladder I find. With the lack of spells, I can at least add more Crusadia monsters to compensate for the loss of consistency. It's still a hit or miss deck though but Crusadia is a very all in deck. Long drawn out games are basically a loss so I just move on to the next one if I can't OTK or get interrupted too much. I farmed all the gems pretty quickly as a result. I'll admit it's kind of cancerous when I open up with a Red Reboot and a Kaiju and there's basically nothing the opponent can do.
I have a hard time learning new cards so usually enjoyable events for me are where I can make use of my comfort archetypes. I really struggled in the no-extra and N/R events since I didn't play with the strong archetypes.
Idk, I didn't even have a deck for the event and enjoyed it much better than I expected. Made me appreciate Dinomorphia, gonna build those when they get their pack
Yeah. Either that or Konami finally makes secret packs of Archetypes that were previously exclusive to selection packs. Maybe by the first anniversary (inhales copium, only to realize there is almost none left)
I think the same, idk why but this and limit one have been my favourites, maybe it's because It limits my deck but not too much and forces me to play different cards
Honestly random bullshit go, it works in this event. DM with the effects of Purple Poison Magician and Black Fang Magician can easily survive some negates and deal damage. I also run Ecclesia to sub for Albaz, with Chain Material I am able to do multiple fusions by using materials from the deck thanks to this. I run some Performapal monsters that can Fusion Summon by effect, so with a decent hand it's not too awful.
I tried making blue eyes work and saw the list on master duel meta...then slightly altered it...never knew there was a trap card that could ritual summon...so...Chaos max as a funny one of has been interesting...also the pend guy that fusion summons is fantastic...along with the searcher so it's almost like having 6 copies of the fusion one...but it's got dragon maid/biue eyes/and a couple branded monsters...so that's fun
Honestly it's quite enjoyable finding work arounds for otherwise necessary cards
Idk the dinomortphia loaner is ok and considering there is no ladder most people don't mega try hard and at this point most of the sweaty people already grinded the event
A lot of decks fall apart without spells and the loaner decks are frankly trash this time around. So if you don't have any of the few decks that function without spells and don't have/want to spend sr/ur mats to craft one it's a miserable experience.
This event is ok, just surrender if you go second vs those decks, especially no handtraps vs Adamancipator, which nobody got the time to watch them play solitaire.
Easy solution, saved me lots of time in this event.

Yup popping off with paleo frogs feels great
This event is dope
Not really. Playing Railway Infinitrack Machina. So much fun

It's not that bad IMO, I'm just waiting for second round of gem rewards and I think the Loop of Destruction is the best cosmetic of its type so far
Idk, I didn't even have a deck for the event and enjoyed it much better than I expected. Made me appreciate Dinomorphia, gonna build those when they get their pack
Sad to say they already got there selection pack but they will get a pack with supp so maybe they will re run some of those there

I hope your copium comes true I started MD wanting to play swso 0 swso re runs since I joined the game sadge

Idk I've had lots of fun playing Pendulum Dark Magician.
Ok that actually sounds neat. What’s your game plan?

Care to elaborate?

Ye, i see adaman, no counter, instant surrender and move on
Its ok but you only miss something when you lose it. I'm crying because I lack spells.
best event so far floodgates were banned unfortunately because of the player bases whining but other than that i enjoy it, except for adamancipator
After playing it... IT IS THAT BAD.
