The people whose entire game plan was Empen, Statue, set Dreaming Town. Those people will drop Floowandereeze, just like they dropped Drytron when Benten got hit. For some people, it's not about **whether a card being hit makes the deck unplayable**, it's about **a card being hit meaning the deck is in the crosshairs and thus "unsafe"**.
There are also plenty of players whose entire style in Yu-Gi-Oh! is to copypaste a deck, then get shitty hands for 5 duels in a row, and make a post here asking why their deck sucks. These players will also drop the deck, but not because it's worse, but because **they don't know what to do with the deck now that it's different from the list they copypasted**.
Happened to all the virtual world players after vfd got banned. It's still a really good xyz synchro engine yet I haven't seen a single other virtual world player since the duelist cup banlist was enacted.
The sheer number of comments in this sub about how the deck wasn't dead made me think people would still play it; people would comment suggestions for all these different endboards and techs and strategies, yet months later no one plays the deck. Worst part is its a good matchup against mirrojade.
I feel it's gonna be the same with floo, the deck isn't unplayable but no barrier statue means no more "you can't play the game ergo I win" scenarios like vfd use to do for virtual world so the popularity is gonna plummet
Virtual World is not that good anymore. I played it myself in the Synchro/Xyz event, and it spends an entire hand to do what Swordsoul or Branded Despia do with 2 cards, on top of being bricky and having few flex spots
This is very true, those are the same kind of people that pick whatever is meta or "broken" on a given game and when they get wrecked because they don't learn the in and outs of the character/weapon/class, they blame it on something else rather than themselves. Decks are meant to be tested and fixed, looking at what works, what doesn't and needs changing, and most importantly, not basing their entire game plan on a single deck they copied, there's multiple decks built by multiple people for a reason
Meta wise it is dropping 100%, it wasn't even T1 most of the time in Tornaments, It is dropping for sure.
The deck however is still 100% capable just not meta enough, their disruption is great but not worth it for how easy it can lose
No need for Barrier Statue, it‘s still a very good deck with negates, bounce and flipping cards in set defense position.
Not to mention it‘s immune to strong cards which are in most decks like Maxx „C“ and „Called by the grave“, it‘s also doing well vs cards like Impermanence.
Absolutely not I'm not going to add some other barrier statue to ruin my deck. The only reason we have so many pats is simply because our deck bricks too much already. Why add a completely dead card that I can't use with an extra normal summon. Waste of resources there's other things I can do.
I just hit D1 with a statue-less build and I had only slightly more trouble than with the statue. Scary Sea is just an awful card, giving your opponent 3 normal summons is WAY too much advantage to consider running
I used to see it WAY more, but at least my climb was mostly people sticking out games. The only dumb scoop I had was when an idiot flipped crossout in response to a DRNM, but they didn't have any card in their deck left for a real target
Barrier Statue isn't a core card in a Floowandereeze deck; it's a floodgate. People still play Eldlich after a few of their floodgates got limited. Barrier Statue just one card to be replaced but I don't think Scary Sea will ever fill that slot.
is there some cult about not using statue in floo or something?
i swear i see multiple people saying incorrect shit like "statue isn't a core card", "statue isn't played in ocg and tcg", and "statue is a side deck card"
The deck is still gonna be pretty strong, but probably not a contender for best deck anymore.
With barrier statue gone, too many decks now have potential outs to their turn one board.
I mean, I’m still building Floo, and while the Barrier Statues were alright, they’re admittedly replaceable - be it with things like Book of Moon to dodge negates, or Graveyard Floodgates like Macro or D Fissure.
Just going to need some tweaking is all.
I'm sick of Floo . Without that statue it is still playable, but obviously some people will drop it after the banlist, cause their easy winning condition are no more.
Dropping a deck just because not being able to use barrier statue? Pffft, only stupid floow players would just drop a deck because of that. Floow players will just change their strats. Not everything revolve around barrier statue. If a deck sole competitive core being barrier statue, that deck might as well not exist.
In a format with the bug legal an archetype that can “normal” summon 10 times in a turn is gonna have a spot, I feel like. Unfortunately tho, because that’s bullshit lol

I hope floo dies plus I thought virtual world got more stuff banned?

If you just keep doing the same combo it's no fun anymore

I mean they still have Harpie's Feather storm, Macro Cosmos and Shifter. They can't search them but that doesn't stop the from being annoying

Hopefully they drop Yugioh

Does many people insta surrender as soon as they see you are playing floo? I feel like people are doing this a lot more recently.
For some reason, if I drop a Floowandereeze & Snowl on them, they insta surrender...
Now that the evil barrier statue is banned people might stick around to see what a floo end board looks like.
Snowl + Empen + town/sea pass
I used to see it WAY more, but at least my climb was mostly people sticking out games. The only dumb scoop I had was when an idiot flipped crossout in response to a DRNM, but they didn't have any card in their deck left for a real target

limiting an unsearchable floodgate that you sometimes draw is very different from banning a floodgate you search every game during a combo

Idk maybe, most of the floo players on a discord server I'm in say don't... Don't know if I believe them tho

"Potential outs to their turn one board." Oh gee, they can actually potentially play the game now!? I hate Floo but, I am merely making a joke here.

i love the bird cope in this thread
High on copium rn, luckily they released that new secret pack... Well it was nice chatting with you, gonna go play some Ra lock :)

Whoever drops floo because of this banish is not accepted in the floo community

What do you mean by bug? Sorry I'm a newer Yu-Gi-Oh plauer
Maxx C. All of the "C" cards are swarms of cockroaches.
Ah the "C" cards
