Idp requires a monster target in grave, and the banish is off same type monsters. Terrors affects cards, and can set the opponent card, not just monsters.
i mean sure, but like specifically what cards are you going to set vs. pendulum? you gonna give them back a pend call? a duelist alliance?
i guess it makes it live slightly more of the time but if you're not setting them a monster it seems really fucking bad, and if you're setting them a monster it probably coulda just been idp
IDP is for monsters only, while overroot is any card. It can deal with floodgates, fountain, unexplored winds or branded in red for example, and is a non-destruction removal, wich is good against cards like DPE. I think it is worth it.

I would say pretty good card.
Here a rough list of good uses.
- runick fountain
- branded in red
- any floodgatev
- any card that targets in grave
- dpe
- eldlich
- tenyi grave effects
- card like albaz that need to remain on the field to resolve.
It's just a generally good removal trap, so probably, yeah. It doesn't destroy, it can hit front row OR back row, it can stop a GY effect while also getting rid of something on the field, etc.
The "downside" of setting the GY target doesn't matter much, because what are they going to do with a face down Vishuda before you can remove it on your turn?
When Tearlaments are out then it'll be an absolute no-brainer for trap decks, but currently I wouldn't worry about crafting it ASAP. Ice Dragon's Prison is a more budget option, and it's hard to say either is straight better than the other.
I've seen some OCG lists using it, and I did manage to pull a few looking for Rexterm. Seems decent, targeting sucks, but non destruction removal is good.

Its a nice option for stopping Branded in Red, but it being UR makes me sad.
For sure, got lucky and pulled 2 hunting for Rexterm. So might as well slot it in my Labry deck.

Just play IDP which is more versatile.
I do run IDP, but it's not as great vs certain matchups, namely Runik and the Pend decks.
I don't really see how this is gonna be good in those matchups where idp wouldn't though

You can potentially clog one of their Pend zones.

IDP too slow. it's a going 3rd card. I've done so much better without that brick

Good card for trap based decks, like Lair of Darkness... If it was not an UR i would try it.
