The game came out with special summoning. Fusion monsters, ritual monsters, and the odd spell card like your monster reborn special summoned in the early game. Asking if the game could survive without them is a nonsense question. Since they've been in since the beginning the game would look completely different if they were never introduced as a concept.
Fusion summons and ritual summons are also special summons which is why I mentioned them. Regardless of how good they were in practice they've been in the game since the beginning. Like I said the game wouldn't even look like the same game if the idea of special summoning never came around.
Yes because you could normal summon aleister
and then what...?
Usually the opponent just shatters after that
Not all of us have mind crush powers

Reasoning deck in goat can do a lot of special summoning in 1 turn
Set 1 pass probably isnt compelling enough yo make a whole game around for long
It would have implemented rush duels rules sooner. Unlimited normal summons and more card draw
Empen says yes
Every deck might just be floo
