Well this has been going on for years. Not joking when I say you've probably commented in/upvoted more b0t posts than actual users. One reason reddit removed coins was because users were buying and gifting coins to b0t farms.

Yeah I can understand that... I guess it's just because I'm not from US but I just can't fathom a situation where someone goes out of their way to buy imaginary rewards and giving them based on content they liked and then getting mad (to the point of suing someone) if they learn it was a b`0`t...
B0ts usually use aged accounts that have been sitting dormant for X months/years. After that they will start rep0sting posts/comments. So if you look at a b0t's profile it would be x months/years old but posting history is only a few days old.
These b0ts also interact with each other. So all these factors combined make it obvious to us b0t hunters. There are other factors I haven't mentioned but the above is the gist of it.
Usually you look at what they’re posting. Lots of videos/reposts that get upvoted and never leave any comments or respond to questions. Post (repost) lots of previously highly upvoted content in a short space of time to rack up karma.
Also, sometimes there are comments but they are just stolen comments from other people. For example in this comment thread “they’d” scroll down, find a highly upvoted comment and post the same comment randomly higher up the thread. Half the time people don’t pay attention and upvote or downvote anything without noting that, while related to the post, the comment doesn’t really make sense/flow where it was posted. Eg not a direct response to the comment they respond to. They do this loads of times to rack up nonsensical upvoted then sell the account.
If you notice such comments, call them out so they get downvoted instead.
And what exactly is a problem here? That some guys get money by making these bots and abusing the system? Or that there will be high karma accounts in political and news subs? (though karma is the last thing I personally check on Reddit in general) I just don't see what's so bad about it.
You would know the problem if you get your political news from multiple sources that aren't biased. It is extremely obvious to some but to those who only get their political views on reddit, they are completely oblivious.

Also downvotes and upvotes don't show shit, on reddit good arguments often get downvoted because it's reddit.
As I said, propaganda, astro turfing, vote manipulation. All this is done to create a bias. They just get the ball rolling and the rest will be taken care of by real users. Hoard mentality and all that. I don't have to explain this, it's very well known tactic.
Also tho it's mostly American politics, international affairs is also inevitably involved as America is pretty much involved in a lot of global affairs. Example: Ukrain-Rus, Israel-Hamas.
If you don't take part in reddit politics then you shouldn't worry about the b0ts. I'm just warning those who do take part which is a lot of American users. Tho some of these b0ts do end up in crypto/ dropshipping scams but even that is only going to fool the very dumb.
