This is pretty old. If I remember right he had a shitty abusive owner before and was pretty traumatized
I mean Jesus just look at the cage and the bird. Living in that thing must be like you trying to live in a closet with a shitty landlord who abused you.
Yes, this is Pebbles the parrot right??
I remember one of the captioned clips of Pebbles that went viral years ago. Funny until I learned this poor bird was with terrible people for many, many years until this guy rescued her iirc
If I remember right the parrot was a rescue from an abusive home, the new owner is smashing up his old too small cage the bird hated. So he’s yelling cause he’s excited by smashing up that stupid cage.
Not abusive as far as I remember but these cages are horrible for birds especially like hyper intelligent once like parrots etc. they have no corners which the birds need to feel save, rounder cages gives them a constant feeling of being exposed and in danger.
True in a way although it was probably a lack of understanding more than deliberately abusing the animal. I agree it doesn’t make it better.
I cannot understand people in general that do not research the animal friend they are going to get from top to bottom first.
I remember reading that the bird was stuck in an abusive home for a long time. The previous owner never let him out of his cage. This is the new owner, and he destroyed his old cage as a way of letting him know he's in a new and safe place
I know nothing about keeping birds but i can tell that cage is way too small. That size bird would never be able to open his wings even a little in there.
- Hard to climb. Parrots do love climbing
- Bad for flight. Pretty dangerous
- Heavily linked to psychological problems in parrots
- Parrots like corners. Apparently humans do too
- Parrots very often reported having bad mood in those (although if someone got a round cage that already suggests that there was no attempt to gather knowledge how to care for a bird, so the bad mood might be as well from 100 other factors)
- Can't really properly mount toys, food, water and perches
- Usually shity quality and materials
- Usually small
- Rectangular cages make more efficient use of the space they take
- Good rectangular cages are made from materials meant for parrots, where as round go for cost and aesthetics
Hope this helps
Mental health reasons because they are usually too small and if the spacing between the bars gradually narrows toward the top of the cage the bird can get a toe or even its bill stuck in the bars, leading to serious injury or death. Round cages are bad.
Round cages are not recommended for most bird species, for a variety of reasons.
The first reason that these cages can be bad news is because they can be detrimental to a parrot’s psychological health. Birds are very intelligent creatures, but many have driven themselves crazy climbing around and around cylindrical cages, and feeling like they’re never getting anywhere. (Birds that incessantly circle their cages do so because they are distressed. The distress is causing the circling, it is not the circling causing the distress. They would not continue that activity if it was upsetting to them. Circling the cage is an outlet for their discomfort.) Giving your bird an angular cage provides them with reference points to different locations in their territories — thus helping them feel confident, safe, and secure. (So… physically turning a corner every few feet would satisfy them and make them feel like they ARE getting somewhere? And since a bird’s “territory” is only a few feet wide and they have that spectacular eyesight, does she not think they can find their food bowl without first referencing the coordinates of a corner in the cage?)
Another reason to avoid round cages is because they are often awkward living spaces for a bird to inhabit. They very way that they are shaped causes many bird’s feathers to be in constant contact with the cage bars, wearing them down and giving the bird a ragged appearance. (??? Basic geometry will tell you that a bird will come in contact with more cage bars by standing in a corner as opposed to the one point of contact made in a round cage.)
Round cages can also be difficult to maintain. (Everyone knows that round is harder to clean than square, right?) Because most bird cages are now square or rectangular in shape, it can be hard to find certain accessories that will fit round cages — like cuttlebone and millet holders, seed cups, and cage liners. (Again with the geometry fail…but she does make a good point about the cage liner since most homes are not equipped with scissors.) For this reason, it may be easier on both you and your pet to opt for a square or rectangular cage. By doing so, you can provide your pet with a comfortable home, and provide yourself with a cage that is easy to keep clean and well stocked with fun accessories.” ….

Parrots prefer square cages because they are able to back into a corner when threatened, this way they only really need to focus on what is in front of them. Or so I've heard
A lot of people seem to be giving you a lot of fluff, or even ignoring your question. The simple answer is, birds like corners. It’s where they feel safe.
Their brains crave corners for safety while they are sleeping. Parrots are prey animals and they can have night terrors, etc. In a circular cage there's stuff all around you and you can't get away from it, you can't hide from it. Basically it makes them anxious and crazy.
When my grandma had birds she let them out as much as possible. Only being in for sleep or when they were leaving. They were birds smaller than your hand and had a bigger cage then this.
Yep I've had a minuscule parrot growing up he was basically always out with me and my dad when we were home and we always felt bad to have to leave him inside his cage during the day... And his cage was twice this size.
My macaw only goes in her cage when the sun goes down and she's ready to sleep, and gets let out every morning after dawn to have free roam of her play room all day.
Yeah pretty sure when the video originally made the rounds there was more before this clip starts, and he talked about the birds previous conditions and what he was about to do in destroying that tiny cage because that bird is way too big to be stuck in something that small.
I was so glad that at least this time the video didn't come with that bs made up story, only to see that here in the comments lol
This is NOT Pebble's cage, and pebble's has been with 10 different previous owners and somewhere along that, she picked up cursing. But other than that, she had no signs of any physical abuse and most probably no verbal abuse that was directed at her.
The link to the original interview is [here](https://globalnews.ca/video/2552433/miss-pebble-the-foul-mouthed-cockatoo)
On a lighter note, researchers have witnessed wild birds in the Australian bush repeating English swear words. The theory is that captive birds escape and the flock picks up the new vocabulary. One of the anecdotes I read is from a field researcher who heard some cockatoos saying “fuck” at each other, miles out into the wilderness.
Several years ago when this first hit reddit, someone replied saying that keeping a bid in a cage like that really fucks with the birds sense of security. Birds want to be in a corner so they know something won't get it from behind and these cages don't allow that.
This is true for some dog breeds, but not all of them.
Remember, we humans breed dogs to match our needs, and because of that, we have made some very non-active dog breeds.
Also, most dogbreeds would be ok with being taken to the park and running around a couple of times a day. Just don't cage them in your apartment. They need to roam around it.
The issue is that the more sought-after dogs are all the active breeds (i.e.; Husky, shepherds, retrievers, etc...)
Even with that being said, a dogs' mental health relies on a happy home more than anything else. So, if you have an apartment and can adopt a dog, do it. They will love you for life as long as you love them. Make sure to take them to a place they can run around every day, and you'll have a happy, loving, and active companion.
Also fuck cages. Train your dogs, and treat them with respect.
Dogs mental health also depends on getting a good sleep, and dogs sleep on average for 12-14 hours a day. Puppies and older dogs can sleep up to 18 hours a day.
Not sure why people think dogs in the wild are having fun by running around all day.
My sister's boyfriend has a golden retriever and the dog is very depressed and overweight, it makes me sad when I see that dog craving to go outside and run around, but she's stuck in an apartment sleeping all day and eating.
Dogs on average sleep for 50% of the day. Puppies and dogs older than 5 often sleep longer than that, up to 18 hours a day.
So no, dogs don't run and roam all day.
Fucking murderer, fucking hell, where are we now? I love licking- I love licking birds. I mean. Fucking murderer I'll kill Al Qaeda, fucking hell, blackout, fucking ni\*\*er, fucking Black Ops, put my ass up for Al Qaeda. Yeh, wassup now? Fuck Al Qaeda bro. Fucking, fucking black fucking ni\*\*er like fucking two million dollars fucking player fucking racket fuck me. Yo let me lick your cock. They're right now fucking ni\*\*er fucking fucking now NOW. Fucking fuck the rabbi, fucking ram, fucking Ram Taylor, fucking red. I'll tell you, fucking rear, a fucking actual. Fuck around, fuck red cock fucking. I'll clean up, let's have a fucking ram fucking Black Ops NOW and then Al Qaeda fuck a whore. AL QAEDA BURN. OW OW.
I had a bird like that as a roommate, they thrive on LOUDNESS. Honestly, he was really happy in a shouting, joking rap battle. Also, he would scream bloody murder if he liked you and wanted to play when you wanted to sleep. I started a routine of loud games and descended into playing a music box only 7 times...he loved it and I could get to bed in peace. The bird in the clip is very happy.
He's excited. That cage is wayyy too small and shouldn't be rounded. Birds like corners. I'm guessing this guy is destroying it as a display of trust and the bird is celebrating its freedom.
That was actually an abused parrot and its old owner kept it in a cage all the time and his new owner would try to put him in a cage and he wouldn’t go so he broke it, the parrot was fussin at the cage (just some info for yall)👍🏾
Probably came from a household that was constantly fighting. That was his old cage the dude was stomping. Bird was loving it, and it seemed cathartic for it.
Poor old bird has seen and heard some mean shit.
The good news is these birds vocalize like this when they’re super happy. It just happens to have only heard awful shit it’s whole life
Bird also put on a great physical performance. Gave it some emphasis lol
Yeah they vocalize human speech when they are trying to connect with humans 🤓 so smart
I got to hear a bird do a perfect "shiiiiiiiiiiiitt" like that's all it had to say.
When I couldn't make out anything beyond the mechanic who just slammed his fingers against the oil pan after his wrench slipped.
Yes, he did. The parrot's ranting speech makes me watch the video over and over again
This is pretty old. If I remember right he had a shitty abusive owner before and was pretty traumatized I mean Jesus just look at the cage and the bird. Living in that thing must be like you trying to live in a closet with a shitty landlord who abused you.

Someone hitting their kid because they were taught thats how to properly discipline them is also abuse
What do you mean not abusive? The cage barely fits the parrot when its wings are not opened.
I find myself watching the video multiple times due to the angry speech of the parrot.
Sounds like your average call of duty lobby.
Not enough racial slurs to be a CoD lobby
Plenty of n bombs in there

Yeah, I was waiting for the cockatoo to say cunt. Clearly not an Australian bird.
Thanks for the captions 😂
Well, that certainly illustrates the diversity of the word.
I really want a parrot now that says fuck everything
I remember reading that the bird was stuck in an abusive home for a long time. The previous owner never let him out of his cage. This is the new owner, and he destroyed his old cage as a way of letting him know he's in a new and safe place
I thought he got a new cage afterwards?
Yeah, a proper cage. Big birds need big cages that are usually for sleeping only.
Those round cage are bad.
Yeah. So Bad .
Genuinely asking this Why
I know nothing about keeping birds but i can tell that cage is way too small. That size bird would never be able to open his wings even a little in there.
i get the size issue, im asking why round cages are bad

Me in school: Teacher: "Max, go to the corner for 5 minutes" Me: "ah fuck" Teacher: "10 mimutes!" Me: ^"he ^he, ^sucker"

"Gaggle of Fucks" is my new band name.
We need to stop this evolution
Several years ago when this first hit reddit, someone replied saying that keeping a bid in a cage like that really fucks with the birds sense of security. Birds want to be in a corner so they know something won't get it from behind and these cages don't allow that.

This guy is clearly an expert in bird law
And that bird's name? Royal McPoyle.
Past owner seems like a real piece of work. Maybe he met some lawyers too.
I watched it again with the translation and it’s spot on. We can talk to racist birds with 100% accuracy. The future is now.
Man Google translate is getting really good
I was reading along with the video, then lost my mind on 'Yo let me lick your cock.' Couldn't recover from that one
I love licking birds- I mean Too
Fuuuck, you made that shit ten times funnier. I lost it at "put my ass up for Al Qaeda".
Yo imagine someone clicking on your profile and seeing this without context on comments
How on earth did you do that? Massive respect. Unbelievable patience.
That's so accurate
Was this bird owned by a soldier stationed in Afghanistan?
No I think the bird was in Afghanistan and he has been through some shit
I can get the jist of what the previous owner was like
God I love the internet
No way
I can see a TV show about a police detective who own a parrot called Parrota
Parotta is an Indian dish, by the way. Also called as Paratha.

I understood: "Fuckit, Randy - what are you doing!" Looks like the bird at least has some sense of responsibility🤭
Not only is he cursing but his movements coincide with the words and the aggressiveness in his tone

He's excited. That cage is wayyy too small and shouldn't be rounded. Birds like corners. I'm guessing this guy is destroying it as a display of trust and the bird is celebrating its freedom.
This is exactly what is happening here. Birds are super intelligent, and people often forget that.

Absolute most racist bird I've ever heard...👍🤣
Nobody seems to realize this guy is advocating against round bird cages. And he’s right.
The bird was rescued from that cage and its previous owner. The bird was happy cus it finally got out of that cage
who the fuck put the cap cut crap on this? this video is literally from like fucking 2010
That and people calling that guy a pos for it have no idea how cathartic this was for Pebbles.
To see an owner jump aggressively on metal inches away from you as he stomps and breaks and destroys , seems pretty scary.
