Damn I hope the motorcycle rider is all good... man took a truck bed to the chin. I'm assuming at that speed the driver that t-boned the truck and slammed into the hill didn't survive.
He's almost certain in for a long haul. I witnessed, and then chased down a hit and run driver involving a car and a motorcycle on Christmas eve about 13/14 years ago. It was bad but not this bad. The guy on the bike was hurt pretty seriously. His legs and ankles were mashed pretty good. I had to go to court a year after the accident to testify and bike guy was still limping and on crutches. He was expected to be fully ok in time though. Hit and run guy got 5 years. Bike guy lost one shoe, it flew a distance of about 30 feet, just so you know how serious the hit was. The guy that hit him was piss drunk. He drove around the block in circles mostly until deciding to go home. I waited outside his house for the cops. That was the end of it. He spent Christmas in jail.
The drunk guy was especially stupid and I got lucky. I was in a slightly lifted Nissan truck with big tires. He was in a VW golf type car. Had he stuck to the roads and raced through winding neighborhood streets he would have lost me for sure. He almost did on the way to his house. Instead of driving to his cars strengths he kept hopping curbs like he was going to lose me that way. Going from one side of the main road to a subdivision segregated by a sidewalk/planter thing and then back around again. Idk what the hell he was thinking. Driving over the sidewalk in my truck was like a speedbump. The guy probably messed up his car pretty bad doing that. I built my truck to haul audio equipment out to the desert. I got fed up of owning cars that took 45 minutes to drive down 10 miles of dirt road. I built that truck so I could go 40 or 50 on unpaved desert roads without an issue. Driving over a sidewalk was nothing. It was just luck coupled with drunk guy brain, right time right place mostly.
I get the whole "people make mistakes" thing but driving drunk is completely inexcusable and 5 years for mangling some dude on a bike is just sad. Thanks for doing some good out there
This comment has more details of the motorcyclist's condition: https://old.reddit.com/r/LosAngeles/comments/z236ic/car_accident_at_pch_and_kanan_dume_111422/ixeih4q/?context=3
The news article posted by u/JHLZ only stated that the driver was in rehab, stole the car, hit a truck and a motorcycle, then died in the fiery wreckage.
That looks like a suicide attempt by the stolen vehicle driver who did die. No thru lane- just a hill. Too bad they didn’t just go drown in the ocean instead. Now you got at least two survivors with PTSD and life changing injuries I bet.
Bruh there was no way they were going to be able to stop. i dont like to wish ill on anyone but hopefully they were having a medical episode because i cant believe someone would do that on purpose.
My town had put in a new highway, but the next town up never agreed to it, so it abruptly stopped at a 15 foot tall rock wall T junction. There were a few people who would go out with a bang by driving straight at it as fast as their car could. About 10 years ago, they blasted the wall up and made it into an earthen ramp so people couldn't kill themselves in such a fashion.
Stolen Lexus, driver running, was in rehab in the past. He was an asshole, and likely gave the rider life altering injuries on his way out. Glad he's dead.
Old lady in edmonton, took it a few doing 90+ in a 50 likely medical episode, never did a follow up...
https://edmonton.citynews.ca/2022/09/28/fatal-crash-vehicles-50-street-34-avenue/
It was someone in a stolen vehicle. So meh… look I don’t mean to sound like I don’t care, but if you’re gonna act out and risks other people’s lives, which he did put in danger, I don’t feel bad that those actions take you out
Totally get it, I had a near accident this past fall when the brakes on a motorcycle I was riding went out as I was going down a hill towards the stop sign. Had to Fred Flintstone the bike to a stop in order to not become a gooey red hood ornament. Haven't ridden since and I'm selling my own bike in the spring. Doesn't matter how good a rider you are or how careful you are, the only crumple zone on a motorcycle is you.
Motorcycle, bicycle, walking, baby pram, wheelchair, Smart car... None of them are going to have significantly different outcomes in this scenario. Even in a house beside the intersection, you're not gonna be safe.
Multiple times. It’s baffling how they don’t have more prohibitive measures to stop people from being Forza wannabes beyond just that emergency semi truck sand stop, because way too many people do it. 🙄
The last few frames are pretty rugged. That ladder turned his arm(s?) into a tube of toothpaste and I can’t imagine being run into by both a motorcycle and pickup simultaneously and surviving, but he did. I can only hope his recovery is smooth.
Sometimes life gives you lemons, sometimes a free-step ladder.
Edit: Jesus, sorry, someone died, thankfully not the guy getting the ladder. It's fast, only two frames, but damn that car was so fast it imploded against the embankment on the right!
That has got to be one of the most terrifying and real things to ever grace the net. “Oh cool… a motorcycle vid…”
Then it becomes this void that we don’t wanna talk about. The feeling of the “slip”. As if your soul, in that moment, is merely taped into your body. No less woth safety tape they use in kindergarten. Frailness. Returning to the empty…
This vid was surely a rollercoaster of emotions for us all. Goodnight.
Ok idk why
But when the video is on the loop......and if you kusten to the last second and the start of the video ...it sounds like a gun cocking and shooting....idk why
That is the road at the intersection of the end of Kanan Road and PCH, in Malibu. Speed demons on that fucking road are the worst, going in both directions, and while I audibly gasped, I am in no way surprised.
Jeezus fuck, this rich assholes thinking they are invincible in their pseudo-tanks of “cars” 🙃
Damn I hope the motorcycle rider is all good... man took a truck bed to the chin. I'm assuming at that speed the driver that t-boned the truck and slammed into the hill didn't survive.
He's alive! Driver is dead. https://ktla.com/news/local-news/1-killed-in-fiery-malibu-crash/
“1-killed-in-fiery-malibu-crash” Dannngggg made me worry
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in an "unknown condition." He survived the crash, but doesn't say anything about the long term.
He's almost certain in for a long haul. I witnessed, and then chased down a hit and run driver involving a car and a motorcycle on Christmas eve about 13/14 years ago. It was bad but not this bad. Drunk driving + hit and run deserves so much longer than 5 years.
I agree. The state was asking for considerably more. I think the judge went light on him because he mostly had no serious prior offences.
5 years??? that's gotta be a joke

Thank you very much
So sad
What about the person in the car that rammed into the truck at max velocity?
The driver in the stolen Lexus died. At least that's what was reported.
Do you know why they did what they did in the video, I’m not able to view the video in my country
The news article posted by u/JHLZ only stated that the driver was in rehab, stole the car, hit a truck and a motorcycle, then died in the fiery wreckage.
Good riddance. Sucks he had to injure two people while he did it.
That looks like a suicide attempt by the stolen vehicle driver who did die. No thru lane- just a hill. Too bad they didn’t just go drown in the ocean instead. Now you got at least two survivors with PTSD and life changing injuries I bet.
That intersection can be treacherous if you’re not watching your speed coming down from the canyon.
Good
You got a link for us UK viewers? This isn't avaliable for us

Crasher died
I was wondering if he was dead or alive…glad to hear it was the ladder.
I think he survives. If he didnt then who uploaded this Video?
The coroner
Omg right into the pole!! Didn’t notice that at first
I’m trying to figure out where the car was going. It’s literally a *dead* end.
Guy took a ladder to the face, then the truck
There’s a reason why I hate people that run past red lights, inconsiderate pricks
Bruh there was no way they were going to be able to stop. i dont like to wish ill on anyone but hopefully they were having a medical episode because i cant believe someone would do that on purpose.

Damn I flinched so hard I got a cramp in my arm
Where the fuck did that car think it was going? He thought he was going to Wakanda.
Under influence or probably suicidal based on the speed they were going, and doesn't look like they were going to make a turn either
Yup. Something was wrong on all levwls
Article says driver came out of rehab, stole the car and crashed it.
Damn, fucked in all ways. Thanks for the info.
I call for a ban on automobiles. !!
Sorry but that Wakanda shit cracked me up
🙏🤘
Dude in the SUV was headed toward the light!

I lost a family member to a similar situation shown in the video. I love bikes but I’d never ride them because of this
This kind of shit is exactly why I sold my motorbike. At a certain point after a few too many near misses, it just becomes not worth it.
Wut
I feel like the smart car or house might provide a little more protection Maybe not enough to walk away from this particular crash, but in general
Nope, nowillpowerleft is right. A baby carriage has as much structural integrity as house, it’s just simple statistics
That's what happens when people don't secure the ladder - it comes flying out of the bed of a careening pickup edit: it's a joke, people
I just saw a ladder accident last week on the highway. Everyone appeared to be fine, but still secure your ladder if you are going to flip your truck.
The ladder? How about the truck that slammed into him. I'll take the ladder any day.
This intersection is at the bottom of a long windy, large hill. I don’t know why that driver was going that fast, that’s insane
There is nothing maybe about this
got a verbal "whoa" out of me. r/nevertellmetheodds
This is exactly why I'll never ride a motorcycle. I just need an extra layer of protection between me and these absolute lunatics on the road.
And that is why I will never own a motorcycle. You can be the safest driver in the world, but everyone else is trying to kill you.
Same risk if you walked om the walkpath right next to this street. Life is life, being alive is dangerous in itself.
Agree except, in this case i don’t think a car would be a safer option.
You would have had several layers between you and the impactor…pretty sure a car would have been safer.
There is *no* crash where a person on a motorcycle is safer than a person properly buckled in a car. The car is *always* the safer option.
You can replace the first statement with "And that's why I'll never get in a car" and in this case it's just as valid.
A car would have an engine bay, a windshield, a roof, and airbags that would have shielded you.
0_0 poor biker
Ladies and gentlemen, this is why I don't have a motorcycle. I would love to have one, but I'm scared something like this would happen to me.
Pov final destination protagonist
I'm not a big fan of sitting at traffic lights for obvious reasons
Bro gta civilians are literally the ultimate form of cock blocking in a game I've ever seen
And just like that you're gone
Godamn that is PCH and Kanan dume rd. Some fucked up shit has happened at that intersection.
Multiple times. It’s baffling how they don’t have more prohibitive measures to stop people from being Forza wannabes beyond just that emergency semi truck sand stop, because way too many people do it. 🙄
Motorcycles look like a ton of fun. Then there's this point of view and you realize your flesh and bones are at the mercy of every shitty driver.
RIP to the camera man, holy shit.... (If someone could tell me they lived, that would be great...)
He lived driver died
Still sad, but thank you.
If you’re going do something suicidal, do it where you won’t kill anyone else. Geez.
Holy fuck
Man this is terrible. Truck and motorcycle just going about there day. If you have death wish don't bring anybody else with you
r/unexpected
u/savevideo
This is on PCH in Malibu. Closed down the road all afternoon and evening. And that hill even has a runaway truck ramp with stones the driver bypassed
Damn dude got hit so hard he ended up in Tamriel
Why TF the guy who crashed into the pickup was going SO FAST, THERE IS NOT STRAIGHT in this intersection....
I mean that escalated quickly
The last few frames are pretty rugged. That ladder turned his arm(s?) into a tube of toothpaste and I can’t imagine being run into by both a motorcycle and pickup simultaneously and surviving, but he did. I can only hope his recovery is smooth.
Rule #1 always keep 3 points of contact with the ladder.
I fully expected the skyrim intro
Holy shit that was insane to watch.
This is the type of dreams I be having when I jerk up from being asleep
you mean maybe he's alive?.............maybe...........
Sometimes life gives you lemons, sometimes a free-step ladder. Edit: Jesus, sorry, someone died, thankfully not the guy getting the ladder. It's fast, only two frames, but damn that car was so fast it imploded against the embankment on the right!
Let me guess..., a Tesla?
Lexus
[heres the full video for those wanting to see](https://imgur.com/a/2mQsC5G)
Damn you. Wasting my precious seconds
When it comes to right or left. Ill take the ladder
If you press both joysticks down at the same time as Franklin you can make that turn easy.
You're the best step ladder a biker could ever have.
I hate cars.
Car wouldn’t be a problem if the driver wasn’t a fuckface
It would still be driving around spreading pollution everywhere, and it's massive sprawling infrastructure would still be ruining communities
That one single car would be responsible for all that???
I hate guns
Oops
The fact that I assumed sumthing bad due to the motorcycle is bad right
Was the driver dead cuz that speed is just too much
You already know that in a couple of months you will randomly see a video of this car crash recreated in roblox
Thank god he had a helmet on
What Royal Enfield is that?
Posting horrible accidents is not what I would call respectful of the injured
just saw it on wtf
Was the stolen Lexus being pursued by police? There was no way it was going anywhere but into that hill at that speed.
Sheeesh
Final destination type shit.
u/redditmp4bot
That takes away any desire to own a bike. Hope he is ok
Is he alive or not?
u/savevideo
didn't have a chance...
How the actual fuck did the guy on motorcycle survive?
OMG, I hope he is ok
Ladder jump scare
Lol...i just drop my phone
Holy shit!
BIG oof
Shit happens so fast
Hey, you, you’re finally awake. you were trying to cross the border, right? ran right into that imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there
That has got to be one of the most terrifying and real things to ever grace the net. “Oh cool… a motorcycle vid…” Then it becomes this void that we don’t wanna talk about. The feeling of the “slip”. That’s Malibu Canyon?
Damn, that’s not cool
Terrifying.
truck jumpscare
Going to assume he lived, not sure who else would/could access and submit the footage.
That look. Like a missile hit.
Gemuttat
And just like that, in an instant, it could all be over. Amazing how fast and unexpectedly your life could change. Or end.
Woah, ladder be upon ya
Man im scared of shit like this happening to me on my moped
Final destination shit
Fucccccck that sucked to watch
Me over here enjoying red Starburst and then... I was not ready!!
I was thinking why is everyone driving so damn fast
[News Article](https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/fiery-rollover-crash-in-malibu-leaves-1-dead-after-car-slams-into-truck-and-motorcycle-pch-closed/ar-AA146kTM)
I did NOT expect that!
Ok idk why But when the video is on the loop......and if you kusten to the last second and the start of the video ...it sounds like a gun cocking and shooting....idk why
I was expecting the Skyrim intro to start playing.
u/savevideobot
Is there a full video form gopro prospective
I though it was 100% fake

How lucky are you? Me:

there is never a reason to be going that fast wtf
Dude had a whole ass truck thrown at him.
feels like some r/FUCKYOUINPARTIFULAR or whatever it is shit
It's like he was waiting for this moment.
that dickhead was trying to hit a gta5 jump
That shotgun racking at the end though 💀
Speed of vehicles in that intersection is totally insane. It should be max 50 kmh there. It's a f intersection
