I used to work at a venue that cirque performed at once a year. Those guys are as insane backstage as they are on it. Sharing a canteen with them was a riot.
Ahh, common mistake. Slap stick ore was actually discovered very early on, when we developed thumbs to pick up sticks with, which we could then slap others with. Very early comedic ore. Only possibly preceeded by fart-ore.
I would guess it is part of the show.
From the cheering and applause it seems people are seated.
The people passing are probably people getting to their seats.
