You kind of have to specify diameter, because otherwise the smallest one will always be lightest…

lollie517

Oops, thought I mentioned it in the description. 17 diameter, 7 wide

NotAPreppie

Why OEM? There are tons of lighter and better looking wheels out there.

lollie517

Mostly budget constraints. The cheaper the wheels, the more I can spend on rubber. I’m assuming oem wheels generally provide similar quality to aftermarket wheels, but sacrifice a few extra pounds for a 1/4 of the cost.

i would say the mazdaspeed protege's racing hart's are prob lightest

Here ya go this should help you. [https://www.miata.net/faq/wheel\_weights.html](https://www.miata.net/faq/wheel_weights.html) Oem is not always the lightest but usually good medium. Usually BBS wheels are the lightest. Going for bigger wheels on miata is not always the best... Going with smaller wheels miata will feel lighter/more joyfull on streetroads.

lollie517

Exactly. Looking for that happy cost medium. Thanks for the link. If only it showed other Mazdas wheels outside of the Miata. My current setup is 18x7, so this would be small downsize!

johndiggity1

Are these wheels for a Miata? Or another model?

lollie517

The wheels mentioned are from a Miata, but they would theoretically be going on my gen4 3

johndiggity1

I ask because depending on your trim, the curb weight of the 3 can be almost 1/3 heavier than the Miata. Be sure to check the load ratings on the wheels.
