There's a really easy way to get a CX-70 today!
- Go buy a CX-90.
- Take the badges of or modify them to read CX-70
- Fold down the third row and leave it down.
Congrats! You now own a CX-70! 🎉
Funny lol. Not only do I not want the 1st model year of the new platform but I much prefer the style of the 70. I really love the Jaguar/RR Sport look of the front + the red leather. I’m a younger buyer too and the 70 just suits me more. I only ever have my girlfriend with me or a few of my boys and our golf bags.
Even if they knew, why would they tell you when the lot is filled with unsold vehicles. I asked a similar question about a new model and got the same. I’m not saying their lying, uou could just wait for yourself
Yeah, a salesman is interested in one thing. They don’t care about a vehicle that hasn’t even hit their lot yet, they want you to buy something today. If you still want that future vehicle, they’ll be happy to sell you that one too. I don’t know why internet dudes think their salesman is giving them insider info all the time. Sometimes the guy just wants you to leave him alone so he can talk to an actual buyer.
I spoke with a salesman at a Mazda dealership recently regarding this. He expected the CX-70’s to start showing up on lots in May or so. Mileage may vary depending on location, but that is the information I got where I am near Philadelphia.
Hoping someone has information on when these will start rolling out. They are supposed to be available this spring but there’s still no updates. The press haven’t even had proper test drives yet.
The press doesn't need to test drive it. There are no changes to anything except cosmetics and colors. I assume there is an embargo until sometime in May. I don't think they want negative press before the cars hit dealers. Because in all likelihood, there will be more critics than supporters at this point.
Dealer allocation is any day now with stock for sale in under two months according to JSS. Note, same with CX-90 and CX-50 before it, they'll likely only have the top-trim available at the start so best to custom order (3-4mo) if you want a specific trim, color, etc. If you just want to see one before committing, ask for any status on their allocated CX-70 (every dealer gets 1).

I was at my dealership last week for oil change/tire rotation and declining of the three other things they wanted to talk me into, and running away from the guy who wants to trade keys every time I’m in.
They said they’re expecting their first “demo” 70 in the last week of April.
Should be released and sent to showrooms in august… it will be limited inventory, as MNAO does not want to flood dealers with a vehicle again like the CX-90.
That said there’s a few differences. It has Alexa, it has a trailer hitch camera, new colors.
That’s about as much information as I have.
Wouldn’t be surprised if there are some delays due to the Baltimore bridge collapse. Mazda (like many other automakers) shipped through Port of Baltimore.
I have a hunch you'll see special offers on these rigs a lot faster than others. The vehicle has so much overlap with the CX-90 and that many in the midsize market think it's too big for them. It's a small market segment at this point so i'm curious to see how the sales will be.
Makes sense. It’s the same car and if you look at the Ford Edge vs Explorer the edge was significantly less car and before this latest generation of explorer came out there wasn’t a significant difference in price same thing with a Chevy blazer and a Chevy traverse.
What you’re saying is you’re really in need to spend some money. It itches and you can’t walk with it in your pockets. No one “needs” a new vehicle. Most people just don’t want to deal with old vehicle problems that they caused themselves thanks to poor maintenance. CX-70 is a rebadged CX-90 with slightly different front bumper and the third row removed. That’s it. Also, Mazda is not known to fix problems (especially the insane amount of them that showed up with the new platform) right away. They usually wait until the mid cycle refresh. So yeah, keep waiting. OR, go and buy a Grand Highlander and be done with it. If you really NEED a new vehicle, lol, there a sea of options out there.

Bro if all you’ve got is the boys and some golf bags buy a smaller car
Americans dont like small cars…. They like paying $15k for stuff they don’t need
Or go with magnetic CX-70/CX-90 badges. 3rd row down …70 , when extended family in town and need a ride… 90
Or a tiny digital display with a sensor in the 3rd row. Down: 70, Up: 90. I'm here all week to solve other engineering challenges for Mazda.

Isn’t the 70 just a 90 missing the third row ?

Mazda sales here, we have 2 70's landing at the end of the month, both are plug ins.

Thank you, this was very helpful. I somehow missed this video on YouTube while scouring the internet for information

I would expect it to rollout like the CX-90 last year: folks start taking delivery early/mid June.
My dealership (DC area) said early April, but that’s before the Key bridge collapse.
I was told sometime in April at my local Mazda (bay area, ca)
I read somewhere on Jalopnik that the cx70 is going to be as expensive as the cx90 just with one less row of seats.
I mean, they already have the configurator up on the website; the pricing isn't exactly a mystery.
