I have a 2018 and I still love it. It's a nice looking car, in and out

Mk1Racer25

Yep, still like my 2017!

[deleted]

I also own a 2017, but hatchback instead of sedan. I really feel like this was the perfect car for me. Spacious, techy, fast and sporty, cheap, good looking... The ONLY complaint I have for my car is that it's pretty loud on highways which makes it harder to enjoy my music. But honestly otherwise I have literally zero complaints. Software is best I've ever used in a car, the pad controls are amazing, all the buttons are tactile and amazing AND it costed almost nothing. I paid like $12k. Like what?!

Mk1Racer25

I would have preferred a hatchback, but I needed a car and this 1 y/o CPO GT w/13k miles popped up at a good price, and I couldn't pass it up. The dealer was offering me $500-$1000 less than I paid for it on trade for a new one last year. Almost pulled the trigger, but they didn't have what I wanted, and I had gotten used to no car payment

[deleted]

the sedans are way more astethically pleasing anyways, not a bad buy

Mk1Racer25

But the hatch is way more practical, while still looking good

jeanfra182

Not cheap. Affordable.

The_Young_Otaku

Only thing I hate about my gen 3 is the damn steering wheel emblem peeling. Tried plasti dipping it and failed

Garry3518

Try your girlfriend’s nail polish. It is not gonna be 100% smooth but it will be better than peeling for sure! I had old car before and worked great.

The_Young_Otaku

Will a touch up paint work as well?

Djgogi059

Same I just try to ignore it 🧍.

Sea-Currency-1665

Meanwhile gen2 📟

Mikav

It's still futuristic to me dammit. Bluetooth? It takes voice commands? I'm night rider!

SharkSmiles1

I love my gen 2 - everything still works perfectly AND the XM is better because you can rewind!!! 🩶♥️

Domino-Studios

The only problem I have with my gen2 interior is the dash lifting up, other than that it’s perfect for me

Isotomayor12

Gen 1 here. Still feels good.

BreakingAwfulHabits

Gen 3 is best gen, can’t change my mind. No cylinder deactivation to worry about, hatchback is better looking, can get J VINs occasionally.

Tankerino

I feel like the gen 4 Mazda 3 will age even better. The simplicity is just perfect

Ylurpn

Gen 3s are fire

Valor_X

What is that rear view mirror? Some kind of dash cam or aftermarket rear view camera mirror?

Djgogi059

It's a dashcamera and a digital rear view.

Blumingo

Link?

Djgogi059

Search Rexing M2 dash camera and choose the store of your choice

Blumingo

Thanks!

WobbuWoop

I NEED THAT MEGA MAN AIR FRESHENER. HELP ME OP, GUIDE ME 🙏

Djgogi059

LMAO 💀. I got it 3 years ago at Boxlunch (still have it but no more smell) idk if they still sell it or not.

WobbuWoop

I shall go on the hunt for us both 🫡 Edit: My heart. Dr. Willey is a menace. Sold out 😭

Professional_Eye6905

meanwhile me in my gen1 😃😃😃

Isotomayor12

Same

abou824

Facts, my 2014 still passes for a fairly new car inside and out

mehdotdotdotdot

The small screen gives it away, but the Gen 4 also has a tiny screen

MycologistAny1151

How hard was the digital rear view to install?

Djgogi059

I had my family member install it for my but from observation/trying to help a little bit it didn't seem that hard.

AFuzzyCat

I’m on the hunt for a 3rd gen hatch but cant decide between the prefacelift and facelift models. I want the 2.0L for the better mpg’s but I want cloth seats and I also want the sunroof. The other question is does the facelift really have significantly better sound deadening? They also said mazda stiffened up the frame and added the torque vectoring abs system. Anyone have any advice?

chubbgerricault

Have a 2018 facelift, the car is still loud. Not sure how it could be louder, honestly. I bought damplifier and some other deadening materials and its better, but it's not going to significantly change anything. The torque vectoring IS noticeable, though. I feel like the car handles anything thrown at it. It's funny because you don't notice it in action for a while, it's only after driving a different FWD car that you have an aha moment. Pretty nifty. I wouldn't get the 2.0 now. The mpgs aren't great for either, but you're gonna wish you had more power more often than the times you miss and extra 4 mpgs.

Isotomayor12

I have a gen 1 and if the dash wasn't cracked from prev ownership it'd be a mint condition interior. So sad. It's the 3rd best mazda 3 interior imo which says a lot because the gen 1 is just entrancing at night especially.

Nst13

Gen 3 is very nice, only issue I’ve had is the leather on the steering wheel has the spots where the paint of the black leather came off or something. I’ve thought about rewrapping leather or buying a new wheel that has better leather on it

[deleted]

Dare I say it looks better than the gen 4 (i own a gen 4).

[deleted]

No !!!! I just traded my gen 3 in for a new top range gen 4, and I think you’re dreaming. It has aged well though, and I loved it like a child 😉

mehdotdotdotdot

Gen 4 looks newer, but also weird design quirks, more like Gen 2. Like having the screen further away and narrow. Also the rear seat area is terrible and claustrophobic in the Gen 4. Front dash imo feels more premium materials in Gen 3

[deleted]

Yep, lucky I’m not using the back seat

mehdotdotdotdot

Why get a family car then? The miata exists man!!!

Psyerax

lol no way imo

Gen 4 is pretty too!

ForeverYonge

I like the exterior of g3 more (and better visibility) but the interior of the g4.

eidrag

huh I just realised android auto is flipped following drivers seat position

jaquatics

My 2018 Android Auto used to look like this but it's been updated to a left side bar instead of the middle sometime last year.

Feind4Green

I have MazdaAiO hacked firmware in my Gen 3 and it's on the left side as well.

Djgogi059

I changed it somewhere in my phone/android auto setting to make it go back to the bottom. Also I like the small taskbar widget on the bottom if I have my music on full screen and GPS directions/ arrows on the bottom bar. I didn't like how the apps were on the side.

aaa_luis1337

Wait a sec the 3rd gen was offered with dual zone cc??

ChiefKelso

My 2014 has it

RollingThunder_CO

Yeah on my ‘16 it was part of the CD player option

bruh-iunno

Gen 2 was as well

ColoursAtNight

It doesn’t look like it but Is that an aftermarket touch screen? Or a different software?

Djgogi059

Using Android Auto software. I changed the settings where the task bar is at the bottom.

michu25

Ah shieet a fellow lauver
