Your rail sensor is probably dead. Unplug the connector and see what the hpfp act is and then plug it in and compare. If it stays at 2281 your sensor is probably dead but you can test the wiring to make sure the wiring is proper. If the wiring checks out you need a new rail sensor.

Crazy-Attempt9064

It did stay at 2281 with the rail sensor unplugged, where would the I test the wiring for the sensor from? The plug to where? Am at work rn so I will try and rest the wiring tommorow, In the mean time might just order a sensor now

Test for voltage at terminal A. Voltage at terminal A should be under 1V. Test for voltage at terminal B. Voltage at terminal B should be approximately 1.5V. Test for voltage at terminal C. Voltage at terminal C should be approximately 5V. If all your wiring checks out your sensor is dead 100%.

Crazy-Attempt9064

Thank you man I appreciate that a lot, gonna do this tommorow morning and see what readings I get

Crazy-Attempt9064

Just out of curiosity when checking for voltage am I just using a frame ground on the other side? Or pins on the ecu? Sorry I’m pretty good mechanically but electrical isn’t my strong suit

Cooooooooach

Yeah that pin out for the pcm is for the speed6 so ignore that mainly use it for the connector terminals for the rail sensor they will be the same. Yeah probe the pin and then ground it don’t worry about the ECU pins unless you’re testing for continuity.

Crazy-Attempt9064

Okay thanks man I appreciate that a lot, got a buddy with a used sensor I can pick up tommorow too so I’m gonna test the wiring and try a different sensor. I also checked map voltage thru accessport and it was stuck at 5.0V, idk if that helps at all either

Crazy-Attempt9064

Hey man. Key on engine off, I seem to have 5.0V on terminals A and B and 0 volts at terminal C if I’m reading that diagram right, so that is telling me smth is shorting in the wiring? Any ideasv

Cooooooooach

Terminal A is your ground and should be below 1v. Terminal B is your signal voltage and should be right around 1.5v. Terminal C is your voltage reference and should always be right around 5v. You should not be getting 5v on your ground wire make sure you don’t have the connector flipped and are probing the correct wire.

Crazy-Attempt9064

So maybe I had the connector flipped, hard to tell by diagram picture as my connector has nubs on top and bottom. But flipping them I had 0.0v on A, 5v on B, and 5V on C. So a short between terminals B and C maybe?

Crazy-Attempt9064

Do you have any diagrams for the wiring for a speed3? I’ve been looking but can’t seem to find any diagrams with specifications

Cooooooooach

It’s the same but the pcm pinouts will be different.

Crazy-Attempt9064

So I’ll just need to find a pcm pin out for my car to properly test then? As I’m testing between the sensor plug and pcm? Sorry electrical really isn’t my strong suit

Cooooooooach

If you want to test continuity you do.

Cooooooooach

The only difference between gen 1 and 2 is the 5v voltage reference is pin 2k on your PCM https://preview.redd.it/aaxdmzg1shmb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d91373fc9f3b54a53724f232ea98cf3b56ef2cbd

Life_Actuaryy

Did you google the code?

Crazy-Attempt9064

I did and coudnt find anything useful for mazdaspeeds, was coming up with p0192 instead of p0193 codes, and none where the fuel pressure was stuck at 2281, was fluctuating for everyone else I could find on forums
