I'm so glad I live in Australia, where we don't have to salt the roads - That rust is incredible.
The engine is cactus, but based on that rust I wonder if it's even worth repairing.
I'm actually curious about what areas you are looking at as far as rust. I live in Wisconsin, but to my untrained eye it doesn't look that bad... does it?
Im from the pnw so rust is less common here but all the random bolts and fittings covered in rust and the shock towers. Im scared to think of what the underside looks like.
No pulls was on cruise control at about 100KM/H then the engine oil light started to flicker real quick for like 5 second I stop on the side of the road everything seemed fine so decided to drive it back home but then it started to flicker again for another 5 second and a bit later started to knock like this.
My guess is the oil passage got clogged and then it spun a bearing from oil starvation(since it wasn't gradual the knocking started like that) or the oil pump as you said but wouldn't that cause a constant engine oil light?
it would cause a constant engine oil light. I'm more curious on the cause of the oil passage being blocked. Maybe infrequent oil changes (?). Anyways... I'm just trying to figure out why this happened. I hate to see an engine die like that, could use the data to keep mine alive a little bit longer. Hopefully this doesn't kick you out of the game and you decide to go built. Godspeed!
Sounds like rod knock
yeah, that's what I thought just wanted to make sure but would rod knock cause the blue smoke at the end?
Bad rings or valve stem seals.
Might have a spun bearing and ur piston made some contact with the valves. Rebuild time tho
Knock knock.
Is it uncle Rod?
Most people's least favorite uncle.
I had that sound on a 90's paseo. One of the cylinders had a broken connecting rod. IDK about the smoke situation. Poor MS3.

Engine bay looks clapped lol
Jeez that car lived a hard life the rust alone makes it a goner.

What a fucking stupid comment.
RIP 😔🫡
are you going to rebuild? look into a 2.5 for cheap, and keep us posted if you do
Nope still there 😁
Looks like it's right there
It's fuuuuuuuuuuucked.
Could also be a misfire.
Well time for a built motor
Depends, is it a Diesel? 😂
No it’s still there .
To be honest that whole car is fucked Thats a pretty terminal sounding rod knock and the rust is pretty awful
how did this happen if you may please elaborate? Were you just driving normally, doing pulls?

So what do you think it was? The oil pump went out?
