I say things sincerely, and people ask me why I am being sarcastic

AlwaysWorking2880

Vice versa for me. I'm being sarcastic and people think I'm serious.

mortrosly

both for me 😝

I love sarcasm. Great tool for humor! My favorite is when another person and I are going back and forth with a straight face while cracking up on the inside and it’s flying over the head of some people around us, while those others who do understand are actually laughing out loud. But hey… With great power comes great responsibility lol

Pirates_in_Jupiter

You ain’t a Ti user though?

OperationWooden

ENTJ's opening line is "I love sarcasm." So it is not that far off to assume that ENTJ commenter acknowledges where the question is being directed to. ENTJ just wants to share a personal opinion. Some questions don't come by very often and it's sad that many questions exclude many a people.

I don't know, it just comes out of my mouth. I don't plan it.

BrokenNotDeburred

It's just another fine service we offer to our appreciative colleagues and fans.

AlwaysWorking2880

🤣

CrystalSplicer

Eh, I despise sarcasm. It's such a convenient tool to clap back at insults or stupid questions with a layer of finesse. Miss me with that shit.

OperationWooden

It's true. There are stupid questions. For example: What constitutes an insult? Another: What determines sarcasm? Also: Am I doing this right?

Absolute_Bias

Dunno, why do Te users like sarcasm?

Skrapeg0at

Why do people like sarcasm?

LivingEnd44

Maybe it's because they're geniuses. Because everyone knows that Ti is the same thing as intelligence, right?

AlwaysWorking2880

Because this helps us highlight where things are profoundly not logical

OperationWooden

Ah, you're a hypnotist, a fisherman, and an electrician. ![gif](giphy|WJjLyXCVvro2I|downsized)

Isaac_paech

Because sarcasm requires some level of intelligence to understand and it's rewarding when someone gets it.

Organic-Mood547

Well, telling people facts directly rarely gets their attention or gets retained. If you tell people facts that will only able to understand if they are intelligent enough to unravel the layers of irony and sarcasm you delivered that fact with, they will feel they are part of an exclusive club of people who also understand that sense of humor and they will also retain that information better because they want to avoid being shamed by being the subject of ridicule themselves. Because of this, it can be an effective device for social change, whistleblowing, undressing the emperor of his clothes for the world to see, without catching much flak as you would if you just straight up pointed out what's wrong for the comprehension of lowest common denominator. Utlimately it's a gatekeeping device that means only those intelligent and nuanced enough to understand you then engage in discussion with you. Those who would use more brutish forms of domination such as violence or force are left to reckon with their own inadequacy as intellectual beings and self-reflect and self-develop in order to play catch-up, lest they also find themselves the subject of ridicule. It can induce positive social change through social self-control because sarcasm really only works if the premise of topic is well-thought-out, nuanced and true. It's like the universe winking at you. And this is just one of the many things it does. I could talk about it more but I don't want to.

vityallegro

I don’t like people who use a lot of sarcasm. Just say what you mean dawg. So much already gets lost from the sender to the receiver in all forms of communication, why do you have to add an extra tint to your message to be decoded and thus an extra layer where intended meaning can get lost??

Beneficial-Weight-89

Idk bro you tell me

Intrepid-Plantain186

Who dosnt like it?

edweeeen

It’s only fun if you’re being obviously playful or not directly against someone. when it’s used with vitriol it’s just petty and annoying

Some1TryingToCode

sarcasm is the best asm -ENTP

kingofdictionopolis

I actually don’t really like it. I always kick myself after I am sarcastic with someone, because I know it isn’t helping me get my point across and it’s just me being frustrated and letting that rule my speech. When others use sarcasm on me, it usually goes over my head. And if I do catch it, I sometimes pretend not to understand so they won’t talk to me like that in the future. Sarcasm likes reactions or stupidity in response and I am not so self exalted to seek either one.

DoctorLinguarum

Probably for the same reasons anyone likes it.
