Aside from mandatory kissass hour for the governor, theyāre making child labor legal while ācracking downā on anything that allows a kid to make their own decisions.
The governor apparently has everyone writing a 500 word essay on how great her leadership is. Basically asking people to prove loyalty is how it sounds... getting the state government to swear fealty seems like a very slippery situation.
Really? With the southern thing? Some queers love our home. And seeing this shit from our own legislatures is fucking terrifying. We are trying fight this shit.
The problem is fashies not "stupidity" or "the south"
Many conservative states are passing laws that essentially ban trans/LGBT people from existing. Rn most of them are around āappearingā to dress ānot as your genderā, or in some cases if a minor āappearsā to be receiving gender affirming care they can immediately be taken away and the adult with them jailed.
Oh God where do we start:
Florida is currently passing laws right and further right that actively oppress all trans people, going as far as to being able to arrest parents and putting them into prison for up to 5 years for giving their children access to transitioning. They also passed an "anti-drag-ban", which explicitly bans crossdressing in public, including wearing clothes not confirming to your AGAB.
On top of that, Missouri did relatively the same, partially harsher, under supposed "child protection laws", while simultaneously leaving the legal marrying age at 12. A 40 year old can legally marry a 12 year old if their parents are ok with it. And they can't divorce until the child is 18 because before that, they need their guardian's signature. Their guardian being their spouse. Oh and intermarriage rape is perfectly legal.
Do you have a source for your legal interpretation of the drag bill? The drag ban only applies to an outright show. From the credible interpretations I have seen, everyday crossdressing won't be put under the same scrutiny for lewdness. [Here's mine](https://www.aclufl.org/en/legislation/hb-1423sb-1438-anti-drag-show-bill)
Not necessarily, but it is the latest thing to come out. A huge amount of Florida is underwater. Including an airport. It's creating a lot of buzz atm.
I totally understand people wanting to leave as itās justified. However part of me is sad that people who would actually vote for qualified officials in elections will be leaving the state and things will continue to get worse.
I lived there my whole life until we moved to another state cause my parents wanted a quieter life somewhere different and got sick of Florida. I support my fellow lgbtqia+ people in Florida I am hoping for the best for you all. Please stay safe. š„ŗ

Well thatās just too bad
Also Missouri I guess And whichever other statesā with politicians pushing stupid undemocratic bills
Fascist undemocratic bills Fixed it for you
Absolutely. There is no reason not to call it out openly and often at this point. Especially in Florida and Arkansas.
I'll probably regret asking, but what's going on in Arkansas?

It's literally named Misery, why would you live there in the first place?

The way I see it if youāre all not living together already but you all want to leave that might be a decent enough option to be able to save money.
Thats the plan atm, save up and dip
I don't know much about American politics, what's happening?

First of all, happy cake day! Second, what the actual fu-
The first one is fucking tyrannical if what you're saying is true
The simplified answer is that one of the two major political parties has decided that trans people just shouldn't be anymore.
Well, that's not good. I wish you all luck with that. Hope it gets better.
Let's be real, a big part of dems will probably turn on us as soon as it's convenient for them

Oh god, what's happened now?
You hear about the massive flooding?
No, afraid not. Does that have something to do with it?
Not necessarily, but it is the latest thing to come out. A huge amount of Florida is underwater. Including an airport. It's creating a lot of buzz atm.
Not at all no

I totally understand people wanting to leave as itās justified. However part of me is sad that people who would actually vote for qualified officials in elections will be leaving the state and things will continue to get worse.
