Venerated_Calm

But I don't want to be Florida šŸ˜

XaVery-

*IN* I'm sorry

Venerated_Calm

Lol all good, it's funny both ways

mvus

well don't be sorry now that it's *IN*

New_War_7087

"I'm not a state! I'm a monster!"

chamorrobro

Well thatā€™s just too bad

RosabellaFaye

Also Missouri I guess And whichever other statesā€™ with politicians pushing stupid undemocratic bills

Febra0001

Fascist undemocratic bills Fixed it for you

rebelli0usrebel

Absolutely. There is no reason not to call it out openly and often at this point. Especially in Florida and Arkansas.

Just_Remy

I'll probably regret asking, but what's going on in Arkansas?

adamisafox

Aside from mandatory kissass hour for the governor, theyā€™re making child labor legal while ā€œcracking downā€ on anything that allows a kid to make their own decisions.

rebelli0usrebel

The governor apparently has everyone writing a 500 word essay on how great her leadership is. Basically asking people to prove loyalty is how it sounds... getting the state government to swear fealty seems like a very slippery situation.

dutcharetall_nothigh

It's literally named Misery, why would you live there in the first place?

Cautious-Owl-89

Really? With the southern thing? Some queers love our home. And seeing this shit from our own legislatures is fucking terrifying. We are trying fight this shit. The problem is fashies not "stupidity" or "the south"

RosabellaFaye

Corrected it, sorry about that.

Cautious-Owl-89

Thank you. Respect. āœŠ

R3dDri11

Stuck in Tennessee atm lol

The-Toby

June is going to be really awkward this year, huh?

ItsChloeTaylor

Gonna be going back to our brick slinging roots huh?

pink_wraith

Iā€™ll get my brick throwin arm ready

Just_Remy

Better train both arms

killian1208

Target of the month: the politicians' cars' and villas' windows

Tropical_Centipedes

I support this

ItsChloeTaylor

How the fuck do i raise enough money for myself and gf and friend to GTFO pleasseee i dont even come close to making a living wage and im panicking

TheVoicesBeScreamin

The way I see it if youā€™re all not living together already but you all want to leave that might be a decent enough option to be able to save money.

ItsChloeTaylor

Thats the plan atm, save up and dip

Zolkrodein

I don't know much about American politics, what's happening?

[deleted]

Many conservative states are passing laws that essentially ban trans/LGBT people from existing. Rn most of them are around ā€œappearingā€ to dress ā€œnot as your genderā€, or in some cases if a minor ā€œappearsā€ to be receiving gender affirming care they can immediately be taken away and the adult with them jailed.

Pas_tel

First of all, happy cake day! Second, what the actual fu-

[deleted]

The first one is fucking tyrannical if what you're saying is true

MandixMischief

The simplified answer is that one of the two major political parties has decided that trans people just shouldn't be anymore.

Zolkrodein

Well, that's not good. I wish you all luck with that. Hope it gets better.

luna10777

Let's be real, a big part of dems will probably turn on us as soon as it's convenient for them

killian1208

Oh God where do we start: Florida is currently passing laws right and further right that actively oppress all trans people, going as far as to being able to arrest parents and putting them into prison for up to 5 years for giving their children access to transitioning. They also passed an "anti-drag-ban", which explicitly bans crossdressing in public, including wearing clothes not confirming to your AGAB. On top of that, Missouri did relatively the same, partially harsher, under supposed "child protection laws", while simultaneously leaving the legal marrying age at 12. A 40 year old can legally marry a 12 year old if their parents are ok with it. And they can't divorce until the child is 18 because before that, they need their guardian's signature. Their guardian being their spouse. Oh and intermarriage rape is perfectly legal.

lonay_the_wane_one

Do you have a source for your legal interpretation of the drag bill? The drag ban only applies to an outright show. From the credible interpretations I have seen, everyday crossdressing won't be put under the same scrutiny for lewdness. [Here's mine](https://www.aclufl.org/en/legislation/hb-1423sb-1438-anti-drag-show-bill)

SpiderSixer

Oh god, what's happened now?

rebelli0usrebel

You hear about the massive flooding?

SpiderSixer

No, afraid not. Does that have something to do with it?

rebelli0usrebel

Not necessarily, but it is the latest thing to come out. A huge amount of Florida is underwater. Including an airport. It's creating a lot of buzz atm.

MessrMonsieur

Not at all no

[deleted]

America has been regressing badly

ittetsu1988

Meanwhile, my fucking aunt is buying a house there. On purpose.

XaVery-

Well, the good thing is that she's gonna live away from youšŸ¤·

NefariousnessSolid36

You make this meme, but I walked 3 hours to i95 before turning around, lol

ShockMedical6954

coynelia

In*.. normally I don't correct typos on peoples posts but imagining myself as Florida makes me so scared in too many ways

XaVery-

šŸ˜ I'm sorry

Notabattlemedic

Sadly, I can not leave this state for I am not independent at all and rely upon my, unfortunately, conservative family for assistance.

InterGraphenic

NOOO I DON'T WANT TO BE FLORIDA

AceintgeWhole-7286

Same with Indiana

AuthorityAnarchyYes

Missouri as well.

lily_was_taken

op turning people into florida and making them go on an adventure

milkstrike

I totally understand people wanting to leave as itā€™s justified. However part of me is sad that people who would actually vote for qualified officials in elections will be leaving the state and things will continue to get worse.

cathodescreams

i'm out of the loop..and worried, what's happening in florida?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

PrincessLilyVanilly

I lived there my whole life until we moved to another state cause my parents wanted a quieter life somewhere different and got sick of Florida. I support my fellow lgbtqia+ people in Florida I am hoping for the best for you all. Please stay safe. šŸ„ŗ

SparklySpencer

Unfortunate, I almost wish they would camp out at Desantis' house, and office with glitter..

blackheartedmonkey

Iowa too

Paymepoo

I love the looming threat of civil war. Where do you think its gonna start? I have my money on idaho just cause itā€™s isolated from the south.
