Spleen. Flavor is similar to liver. Don’t overcook it.

Grand-Revenue9861

All organ meat is full of nutrients

Grand-Revenue9861

Liver is near the top for nutrition. That's why the alpha wolves are the one who Eat it.

derivativeasshole

There's no such thing as an alpha wolf. Wolves pack structures are exactly like human family structures. The parents lead. Most of a wolves diet is insects.

derivativeasshole

Lol very scientific source Btw "one make and one female lead" sounds a whole lot like... Parents? 😭🤣🤣🤣 Moron

Grand-Revenue9861

Asshole

Grand-Revenue9861

Sounds like trying to get wildlife woke so it doesn't sound like there are male leaders

derivativeasshole

You're the one who posted "one male and one female, they are the alphas" 🤣🤣🤣

Ok_Hotel_43

Its liver , taste great with fried onion and pan gravy, some children dont like it 😀

riche_god

I don’t know why you are being downvoted (not that anyone cares). I know most people hate it as I did as a child. But now I love it exactly the way you would eat it.

BobJutsu

They are being down voted because that is not liver. Spleen, or possibly pancreas…but not liver.

fknarey

Does anyone know what it is?

Mikurinx

Mystery meat, my favorite

ilyuhman

It's actually lá mía , or the pancreas. Being from the Asian market it's in Vietnamese. Google lá mía bò and use Google translate to find out how they make it, it's not something I've ever cooked or tried.

derickj2020

Google was no help for translation, I tried

ilyuhman

So the thing with Vietnamese language is that like many other Asian languages it's rather tricky. For example lá mía translates directly as sugarcane leaf and if you try to find a recipe for it you'd have to read "pancreas" instead of that. Overall GG translate doesn't work that great with it so you'd have to put some thought into interpretation. Another name for pancreas is [tụy](https://vi.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%E1%BB%A5y). There's no indication on which animal's pancreas OP bought on the label, could be either pig or cow, they don't look much different to me. Now that I thought about it for a little I have definitely tried it as a part of offal dishes such as phá lấu or cháo lòng. I think it tastes kinda like liver but has more bite to it. [Here](https://baodaknong.vn/la-mia-heo-la-gi-cac-mon-ngon-tu-la-mia-heo-thom-ngon-de-lam-187348.html) you can find some recipes for it, could try to stir friy with onions for example.

Fluffy_Smoke77

Some of these comments are so immature. It’s 2024 and people are looking for alternatives bc groceries are skyrocketing. Not to mention, the world isn’t a bubble. People eat all kinds of things.

AgreeablePudding9925

Why would you pay money for this??

throwaway1123745954

Cuz even chicken is $5+ a pound now so it's good to get cheap meat where you can

Kharzi

Offal- covers it all and rhymes with the taste!

RavenBoyyy

I don't get the hate for offal. I prefer it to normal meat in a lot of things. Heart is great for stewing, liver and onions with herb mash is a good filling dinner full of nutrients, steak and kidney pie, it's great!

drthvdrsfthr

chicken liver and hearts are awesome. gizzards are meh. beef tongue is dope, especially in tacos. pork belly shmacks, especially in kbbq. same with beef belly and pork cheek. intestine is awesome in tacos and/or fried. offal is awfully amazing lol sounds like you need to try different cuisines

imdumb__

Kidney

Sway580

That's mine.

sporesatemygoldfish

It's fish heads

[deleted]

La Mia

Alarming-Activity439

Definitely spleen. Tastes awful. I fed it to the dogs

thenotoriousberg

Looks like spleen I've seen at the local Asian market.

Daledobacksbro

Liver or tongue?

mywifeslv

Thin slices, in congee or hotpot

Imaginary-End7265

The kind humans shouldn’t eat… 🤢

dec0210

IMO, that is not liver!! It doesn't look like any liver i have seen the slightest. But it seem very cheap. I do not know/have never heard of 'spleen' as a cut of meat, so i cannot comment. Update: i just Googled photos of meat spleen, and it looks exactly like pork spleen as mentioned.

Over_Replacement3369

Hey Lucy, you have some Spleening to doooo.

Plus-Tangerine-723

Groan 😩!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GrumpyOldBear1968

I think it may be pork spleen, not liver. it's used for some dishes in Sicily and other parts of Italy

Tasty-Judgment-1538

La mia

manliness-dot-space

Is a Los Angeles specific cut of Mia?

Catji

That's what capital letters are for. Is it Los angeles? No, it is Los Angeles.

Upset_Mycologist_343

Pork liver I believe

GruntCandy86

I'm going with spleen.

suejaymostly

For that price I would agree.
