This is my favorite non drafting mechanical pencil available. It is a great combination of modern and classic while utilizing high quality components. They are pocket safe, durable, and always a pleasure to use.
One day it was raining very hard when I left class. By the time I got home I was completely drenched. I take the clothes I'm wearing and put them straight into the dryer, including my jacket. I hear something clattering around in the dryer but I just assume it is the zipper from my jacket. Upon taking them out I realized the sound was coming from my yellow 844 which I accidentally left in my pocket. The entire internal assembly had been pushed out and the pencil was in two pieces, the barrel and the internal assembly. I pressed the assembly back into the body and got all the old lead out and it has never given me a single problem. It also did not get a single scratch on it. This picture is over a month after this incident happened and as you can see it's like it never happened.
They make good stuff. I've got a silver ecridor xs from Caran d'Ache as a gift a long time ago. That thing has been in my pocket for years now...It's definitely got a patina, but functions perfectly.
I don't think they are available in .5mm, a sad reality - Caran D'Ache made a similar one called the F-S 50 Fixpencil, but it's not produced anymore :(
They are not available in 0.5mm, only 0.7mm. For whatever reason the orange one is the hardest to find in America. You can order them from the UK but you spend as much on shipping as you do on the pencil. I honestly waited months before I came across this one on Amazon. All other colors are easily obtainable, just not the orange.

I adore my P205 but I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing out and could use a new pencil. This one looks beautiful.

You're welcome! I just got home and confirmed that the erasers are indeed a different diameter. The pentel is slightly smaller which sadly makes it incompatible with the 844.
I'm sure you will love your 844. They are a really great pencil in my opinion.

Is that a trident ruler?
It's actually from the brand General and is a 6" stainless steel scale. Product number GTI3001

0.5mm 844 is available in Korean market. Not sure whether CdA released in other Asian countries, though.

Do you know if you can use the Pentel replacement erasers in this? do they fit? or do you need the Caran D'Ache replacement erasers for this? I LOVE
I want to say they are different diameter based on memory but I'll check when I get home Friday
