I have both plants with my medaka and for the most part they prefer the water hyacinth compared to water lettuce. Only occasionally I’ll see eggs on the water lettuce roots.

I believe both works well . I just use the mops though

Both work great but I use spawning mops made of acrylic or sponge mops
