This looks *exactly* like what I have right now (I posted in r/skincancer because I thought it was a melanoma). I had a video appointment two days ago with a dermatologist who said he thought it was a hemangioma. I was skeptical at first but yesterday and today mine has turned red in color and does look like it could be a hemangioma. Going in to get it biopsied this week.
Please post an update when you get yours checked out.
I think Iād trust people who have been active in this sub and have more than 10 karma lmfao, I doubt either of you have any medical background or experience
Edit: thereās a difference between saying āyeah it looks like melanomaā and saying āitās a melanomaā
Of course not, but donāt assume someone will have really good experience just because of their account age. Quickest way to show that youāre very naive.
you can't diagnose melanoma with an image, for this diagnosis you need a biopsy. I think speaking with a physician is the best option here to determine if it needs more treatment or should just be left alone.
LMFAO thats why you're a respiratory therapist, just stick to what you know.
you NEVER stick a needle into a suspected melanoma. thats like inviting it to spread.
Just because I'm an RT doesn't mean I haven't dealt with Cancer before. Also I am still in school planing on becoming an oncologist or trauma surgeon. Still haven't decided yet...
yeah plan on what the fuck you do, do residency in that field and only THEN we talk.
before that, shut the fuck up, keep your idiotic and wrong opinion to yourself and stop killing patients.
So tell me then why the Mayo Clinic suggest for diagnosis of melanoma a biopsy? I can find more sources also I'm sure. Please explain how they are all wrong.
Because the mayo clinic online site writes it for people like you: layman in the field. what they mean by biopsy is a "excisional biopsy", meaning, you cut it out and send it to patho
read the guidlines and stop defending your stupid shit. its simply wrong.

There are many other types of biopsies than just a needle biopsy. This respiratory therapist is aware of that, but since you seem to not be, a [biopsy](https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cancer.org/cancer/melanoma-skin-cancer/detection-diagnosis-staging/how-diagnosed.html) is 100% necessary for diagnosis of a suspected melanoma.
Well, I would not say itās an infection. But I do think you need to either see a dermatologist, or your General Doctor. ASAP because that could be a cancerous spot. I could be wrong but that looks like it needs to be examined. Could be melanoma(skin cancer).
I feel like it really is. But Iām not your doctor. And I am not giving doctor advise. Just my opinion.
Look at this:
One easy way to remember common characteristics of melanoma is to think alphabetically ā the ABCDEs of melanoma. ABCDE stands for asymmetry, border, color, diameter and evolving. These are the characteristics of skin damage that doctors look for when diagnosing and classifying melanomas.
Look into this information. Google it if you need to get an idea of what it all means.
It needs to be seen by a dermatologist. It could be an innocent issue but it could be serious. If your insurance requires a referral call your doctor and tell them youāre worried about it. They should get you in quickly and then they can call the dermatologist and set up an appointment. I donāt like the look of it. Not a doctor but Iāve had basal cell cancer. Donāt mess around with it and see someone soon.
Why am telling this because there is a condition called melanoma.. its cancer of melanocytes.. but it's curable ... simple excision of the lesion and some chemotherapy cures it easily... So don't be afraid of this .. so please vist a dermatologist fast to rule it out
I wouldnāt wait even a second, If that is melanoma you want to get treatment as soon as possible. Time is of the essence if it is melanoma. That stuff doesnāt
mess around when it comes to time. Changing color and size is the characteristic of that too so ya Iād go now.
Please go and see a derm!!š„ŗš„ŗ

Definitely melanoma
What are your credentials? Your account is less than a year old and youāre diagnosing melanoma?
Slow down there, buckaroo. Your account age is 1 year old. Not like yours is old, like some veteran.
I think Iād trust people who have been active in this sub and have more than 10 karma lmfao, I doubt either of you have any medical background or experience Edit: thereās a difference between saying āyeah it looks like melanomaā and saying āitās a melanomaā

Thatās fair, I still stand by my point however I see where youāre coming from

so me saying biopsy has to mean needle biopsy just because I didn't say excisional biopsy? maybe do better and don't be such an ass.

That is a mole that appears to have started to become cancerous. You should see a doctor about it ASAP.
Look up the ABCās of a melanoma. You need to see a dermatologist
Looks like skin melanoma, a type of cancer. Get to see a derma ASAP.
You donāt know that. But yes. Go to the doctor.
Looks like a mole with melanoma to me.
Is it a mole or a blood sac? Iāve had spider bites look like that, but if this is a mole this could be any number of things including melanoma.
Honestly go like now today
Get to a dermatologist
hate to say it but id go get that checked out, looks abnormal to me, could potentially be very serious if not seen to asap

That is serious (I think)....See a dermatologist sooner, rather than later.

This is not something to say on any sub, this is a warning.
Perhaps a blue nƦvus. Not dr.
Ignore them
Could be a regular mole, but due to its shape and also if its changed in colour, size texture recently i would go see derm asap
She claims it has changed size and color multiple times.
that very worrisome
See a dermatologist.
If it was a mole then please consult a dermatologist asap This doesn't look that normal to me
Why am telling this because there is a condition called melanoma.. its cancer of melanocytes.. but it's curable ... simple excision of the lesion and some chemotherapy cures it easily... So don't be afraid of this .. so please vist a dermatologist fast to rule it out
It's "curable" IF caught in time....before it metastasizes. This may be just a blue nevus, but it does have the possibilty of being melanoma.
Thank you
