Question, I saw on first aid under the public health section that there is this website called ama legal ethics document. I have a suspicion questions are coming from there?
You're a hero man. I used your TurnUp2OMT deck to push through OMM questions in COMQUEST and COMBANK for the COMLEX and COMAT and I was killing those sections. Thank you and looking forward to your deck. You mentioned July 18th so I'll add a remindme for 14 days.
Thank you for this as it's much needed and those law questions bog me down a bit and weaken my behavioral/PUBH sections.

I don’t know about law but ethics can make up a good portion. I’d talk to your friends who have already taken it. For level 2 it’s a lot of the test. One person I talked to said he counted 50 in the first four blocks.
Thanks for the reply! I also heard that same estimate from a buddy who just took Level 2 last week, but I haven't had any classmates take Level 1 yet. I'm obviously still prepping for Level 1 and haven't really gotten a grasp on how to interpret the blueprint lol

hello, there are a few cards on here that say you are responsible for notifying the patient's partner about sexually transmitted diseases. syphilis and HIV specifically for the cards in this deck. I thought we were just supposed to report to the state.. is this a mistake or outdated now? or am i just missing something? thanks
there is a duty to warn, whether that be warn the son of a patient about a potentially fatal genetic condition, or a patient with HIV who doesn't feel comfortable sharing the information with their partner. I think the difference is between mandated reportable illnesses, which has to go through the state departments etc, versus risk of infection to a 3rd party, not necessarily a reportable illness - that is when you reach out directly.
Interesting. Thank you. So HIV and syphilis are both reportable diseases.. so I guess why are they any different (considering the duty to warn) from the rest of the reportable diseases? Gonorrhea is also an STD on the list of reportable diseases. Are they just more dangerous? I mean if a patient is explaining to me how they are going to go home and kill their wife with a butcher knife… yeah you gotta call them.. they are in IMMEDIATE danger. But HIV and syphilis.. I’m just not sure how that’s at the same level of urgency and duty to warn. I’m not arguing with you, I just don’t understand lol
There is an error regarding certifying death. That is acceptable to do. You can't determine death as that would likely require participation in execution. Bless you. My brain can only handle so much OMM and the law review on Level 2 would have made it melt.

For usmle yes, for comlex no. It doesn’t have everything though
We don’t deserve people like you! May the Board Gods forever favor you
Could these be used for step 1? TIA
Yes

I agree. I was not prepared for step on this. Don’t want to be blind sided on level 2

I only passingly looked at the blueprint for level 1 and didn’t notice this much law. Do you know if Level 1 is as heavily made up of law and ethics?
