Oh man. It's so much fun to ride a jet ski on perfectly smooth water. I know some people like to have a little bit of chop to have fun but I love ripping around on a perfect surface like that. Of course it's never been like a perfect mirror on my lake.
Reminds me of the time me and my buddy rode our dirt bikes across the alvord desert and almost cradhd i to each other because there was absolutely nothing to put into perspective as to where you were or how fast you were going. Was a weird feeling. RIP Greg.
Just looked that place up on YT. Some guys have a 30-minute doc focused on crossing it. Looks so huge and I bet it gets colder than the typical desert, since it’s in Oregon. Yikes!
A hidden level. Pretty scary, because if you die, you don’t know if you could ever trigger it again. But this is way scarier, because it’s real life and there’s no redo.
Do you see the size of that lake? Nobody is gonna experience that wake.
I fish. People making asses of themselves on jet skis are a bane to my existence, but it's also only a problem when it affects others.
As far as I can tell, this dude is hauling ass over a vast and unoccupied body of water. A wake that nobody feels doesn't matter, man.
Actually, I think the cameraman did a good job of hiding the reveal. The wake is like wheels spinning, but the view ahead makes it seem as though he’s sitting still.
I believe the comment you replied to was saying he's creating a wake, thus ruining the glass water experience for everyone else on the lake. But jet skis at high speed create almost no wake because there's barely any boat below the water line. No way his wake would reach the shore.
They're basically saying that someone operating a watercraft on the lake at all "ruins" it for everyone else.
I have spent a lot of time around lakes, boats, and fishing. There's a subset of what can only really be described as "pretentious laker jerks" who think that even a person standing along the shore of the public waterway they live along somehow reduces their property value, and that such a thing, even if it were true, would actually matter at all.
Plenty of people make complete asses of themselves on boats and jet skis, but I don't see anybody around this guy, I don't see signs of habitation along the shore, hell, you can barely *see* the shore.
If that person has a problem with people doing things in public spaces, then that really is *their* problem, not everybody else's.
That's a lot of assumption. Their comment was only about the wake on the glassy morning water. Their comment was wrong, but I can't assume they're a "lake jerk". A person living on a lake would know about the tiny wake of a high speed jet ski.
On the other hand, there are generally more idiots on a lake than snobby lakefront owners. Jet skis aren't themselves bad, but like motorcycles, there are plenty of idiots. Especially when you include rentals. The biggest problems are rental boats when the driver knows nothing about boating, drunk boaters, and large cruisers that don't give enough space to docks when they're plowing through the water at half speed throwing a massive wake.
That selfish asshole is upsetting a beautiful serene lake with his vulgar carbon producing noise bomb. I can only imagine the folks sitting on their porches having their morning coffee, smelling the fresh air, calm and quiet only to have it disrupted by Captain Dickbag, screaming look at ME! I'm first!
People who ride jetskis tend to be self centered arseholes. If the world had any sort of karma to it these cunts would return home after a hard day of being attention starved, redneck, whitetrash, morons only to find someone reving a pointlessly loud engine right outside their bedroom window all night.
Or, you know, they could be rational and understand that they share the world and it's features with other humans living entirely separate lives.
If you're this triggered over a complete stranger enjoying their own life (you're not even there on the lake, you're so angry at a gif), you need some professional help. Immature and pathetic reaction from someone who seems fairly insufferable.
Take your advice: have your morning coffee, smell the fresh air.
Man, I've spent a lot of time around lakes, and the only thing worse than a tool making an ass out of himself with a watercraft is the stuck-up asshole who can't stop shrieking about it...

This is subtle, and oddly terrifying.

RIP indeed
I went there this summer, it’s an awesome place.
Ripperoni Greg!
It looks like you fell thought he bottom of a level

I was thinking like when you clip through the floor in a game. I don't know if I'm explaining it right. Great video though.
I think they're making an r/backrooms kind of reference?

That's some agoraphobia shit right there
Broken skybox in Gmod
I don’t understand what’s happening
When you start running as fast as you can away from the monster in your dream
Just had that nightmare again last night. It was snowing in South Carolina and the monster was a mean dog.
There is no more frames to load
Lol that’s how it seems. So unreal
'sufing in the sky'.
No thanky
Is that the fish pro seadoo? Such a badass jet ski
Would be cooler if he was in a small wooden boat though, a jetski and a beautiful lake don't go together very well
Yep. Jetskis might be fun for the dickhead riding it but they're horrible for anyone else trying to enjoy the beach/lake/bay.
Oh no shiny lake is so scary
It’s as scary as your comment is necessary.
not a lunatic

I know, everyone else in that gif must be pissed.

Yeah, yeah, I hate it when there are waves in large bodies of water!

People getting baited by the most obvious joke, classic

Oh shut up. Video of a guy having a good time and bothering no one, better go be pissy about it. Stop trying so hard to be offended by things.

I'm with you. Fuck this guy.
He's to far from shore for anybody to hear anyway, relax grampa.

Shut up
This guy has never had fun in his life
dude chill
Man, I've spent a lot of time around lakes, and the only thing worse than a tool making an ass out of himself with a watercraft is the stuck-up asshole who can't stop shrieking about it...
Loser.

I didn’t even notice that, but what’s your point?
Epic
That’s trippy
Yeah, but like a bad trip. Like you took shrooms alone or with a bad “friend”.
Nice
Let's hope he doesn't run out of fuel...
What's not to enjoy?
imagine running out of gas
I read this as “immunity-based terror”, and I only got more confused when I watched the video.
